  1. Right, and it will be at least a year before there is another GCW release, so for the immediate future you would have to buy an unwanted expansion if you wanted the generic upgrade cards for competitions or OP. So, to some extent, by not including the new upgrade cards in this pack, FFG has ensured that folks have to buy some CW expansion if they plan to play competitively next year (assuming we get back to in-person tournaments). Is it some huge money grab? No, but it was a choice that will ensure that some existing players who don't want CW still have to buy a CW expansion (or possibly a card upgrade pack down the line).
  2. To some extent this will still be the case, as FFG has shown us at least two generic upgrades that will only be available with CW ships, forcing those not interested in the new factions to buy them on secondary markets or buy expansions they don't want. It may be the case that FFG will release those upgrades in another card pack or with a GCW upgrade, but that will likely be at least a year or so away. I was hopeful that Armada would move towards the Xwing and Legion model of allowing people to focus on one faction and still be able to get all the generic upgrades without unwanted purchases. For the immediate future, it does seem like there was a minor cash grab here on the marketing department's decision not to include the new generic upgrades in the card pack.
  3. Just started it this past week. Still trying to get it up and running.
  4. NOVA Fleet is the best place to find games and talk Armada in the DC, Baltimore, and Richmond area. We also just started a Discord group to help reach out to people on other platforms. Aside from that, the DC area is home to the NOVA Open gaming convention, which includes the Armada Grand Championship. That will be in September, so hopefully we can still have it. Lots of local players in that one, including some of the top players in the game.
  5. Hi all. I started a new blog--Armadness--that will focus on building and testing different fleets. Check out the first two articles on building a SSD fleet and taking it to fourth place at the Ashburn, VA Prime. https://swarmadness.blogspot.com/

  7. Thanks for the clarification. This question started a long discussion in my X-Wing group about the timing of events during phases.
  8. I guess that's where I disagree. Because R5 says "during", it can occur at anytime during the end phase: start, middle, end. Because there is no specific moment when R5 has to occur, it is left to the interpretation of the player. Only Horn's ability has a timing restriction. I understand this could be interpreted the other way as well (probably by my opponent ), that's why I think FFG needs to specify what takes precedence, the ability with a specific timing or the one without.
  9. If Horn is equipped with an R5 astromech, can he use the droid's ability to flip the faceup damage card before his end phase attack?
