Hard to say which combination is best. Depends on playstyle. I treat Kannan/Biggs archetype as one. I fear the most one with Rey/Tactician crew on Kannan, but never played against R3-A2 and Engine Upgrade combination.

I have played with both of them, and the engine upgrade really gives a lot in certain matchups. The problem I see with tactical jammer is it really dictates your flying a lot more than Biggs alone, and it is impossible to get Biggs to attack and use tactical jammer, unless you are jousting. And it is a bit of the same with tactician. It is good, but it requires you to catch things in arc. And most of the time it is the TLT that will kill the enemies for you. Without recon specialist I also find that I miss focus tokens. Two is rarely enough.

Kannan + Biggs archetype was fairly popular during Yavin. 3 palyers made 7:3 being 1 win form the cut. Most popular combination was Bigss +r2d2 and Tactical Jammer on Kannan. No Engine Upgrade shenanigans tho.

I find this archetype very powerful.

Which one is that Oldpara? The one with r2d2 or the one with engine upgrade?

So I managed to finish 6-4 at Yavin (5-2 on day 1 to qualify for day 2), finishing 63rd overall. The list performed well except against Palp Defenders. I lost 3 games against them. The other was a close loss to Parattani in game 1.

Determination only triggered 1-2 times so wasn't very useful. Stress both it is from now on!

Kanan - TLT, RecSpec, Rey, FCS, Engine Upgrade & Title

Biggs - Determination, EPT Droid & Intergrated Astromech

    Zeb - Chopper & Title

    Report to follow soon.

Congratulations on going to day 2. 7 rounds of swiss is a long day!

Did you play against any kylo lists?

So I runThis variant to Biggs and Kanan. I don't have anywhere near the number of games but I've had good success and lots of fun with this list:

    Kanan-

    FCS

    Plasma Torps

    EM

    Rey

    Jyn Erso

    TLT

    Tac Jammer

    Biggs-

    IA

    R2-D6

    Determination

    Rex-

    Sabines Masterpiece

    Jan Ors

The object is keep Kanan out front yet in Range 1 of Biggs with Rex off to the side. Use Jyn and Jan to add Focus+Evade (maybe double Focus+Evade) to Biggs. If set up properly Biggs has 4 green dice (2+, range and TJ) with Evade and Focus. Then Kanan drops a Focus with Rey and now the attackers primary is 1 die less. After Rex adds Suppressive Fire the primary threat is tossing 2 less red dice. I call the list Biggs Lives! He usually dies but it takes a long time. I've found it effective and extremely fun.

But wont you miss the double tap with the tlt from not having a shuttle? And Rex will only work after he shoots.

  5. Thanks for your thoughts Khyros. Determination is situational, but so is R3-A2 in my opinion. It can be really good, or have no influence at all. So I think they have to be tested, just like you say.

Thanks for your thoughts, given me some things to consider. I will see how my practice matches unfold this week

Good luck! Looking forward to hearing about your experience with it.
