This is the Model so far.
lots still to do but its getting there, should have the rest of the body finished this weekend and then primer the model.
 

FIRESPRAY Modification,
 
This is a different take on the Firespray.
I wanted to do something that would take it far away from what it originally looked like,
but still recognizable.
 
Im actually not a Fan of the way the Firespray looks, never really liked it since seeing it in Empire.
But I like what it can do on the Gaming table.
And looking at a friends model one day I thought........Hmmmm if I modded this and that.
I could make it look something very different and more Aggressive.
 
So I started by cutting and shaping some wings in card stock to get the idea out of my head 
and see what it looks like on the model.......
 


 
Once I had decided on the Wing idea.
I pulled apart the model so I could pivot point for the new wing stabilizers and stand.


 

Pivot shaft built into the model for the wings to slot into.
and be removable for storage.


 
 
 
I also wanted to completely re-do the engine layout, new bigger thrusters and air breathing intakes on the side fuselage of the body

 
You can see in the back ground shots.......my Large collection of "Bits" lots of pieces of various model kits from Tanks, Battleships Vehicles and
other Star Wars Kits........Kit Bashing......the way they Originally did it 

The Wing Pivot shaft and stand support finished and in place.....

 
Now starting to Add detail on the body and cockpit, wings and lower stabilizer....
 

 
My new stand now fits in nicely behind the wing stabilizer and engine carapace ramp exit/entry
The new stand also need to be much longer as the model sits taller on the stand......

The Model now breaks down into pieces for easy storage, as the model now has a large wing span.
 
 
 
The wings are able to rotate, and show how the Ship would land. you can also see the much larger new Weapon pods.

Slighty Off topic, but it's still a X-wing...
Managed to complete this earlier this fall, hope you like it

Painted this for one local scale modeling show, scale is  roughly 1:41. Kit was MPC's (notice not Force Awakens but Return of the Jedi promotion ) form the 1980's. I acquired the kit through some random channels almost decade ago. I have tried to complete on several occasions, but always failed, part of the reason was that it was missing some pieces, most notably the hatch for the cockpit.



Never the less, I was able to finish the model now, even with a scenic hangar base and with some custom built parts..

Process:
The original cockpit was bit plane so I added some details, like the seat padding and joystick

Black squadrons



Idea was to keep color scheme as classical, with some touch of the weathering. To add my personal twist, the side panels have been decorated by imperial iconography to reflect the veteran status of the pilots. They are Black squadron after all.

DC doesn't understand that some people ARE NOT wired to understand certain things. For me it is social cues, facial expressions, and emotions. It takes me a little while to decipher abbreviations. I am sure I am not the only one who is WIRED differently. It would be a shame if DC was made fun of because he doesn't understand the difference between childish and adult-like.

You do know that like, on this very page, some players who are very familiar with the game and its various upgrades had to speculate about whether you were using BTL-A4 or the completely pointless Bomb Loadout, right?

Actually, he called you uneducated in reporting and gave you an advice. And he has a point.
Not everyone should be expected to know what abbreviations mean, especially a newcomer looking for information. And pretty much everyone will have to take a couple of (unneeded) seconds to figure out what you're talking about.
 
On the squad itself, I fail to see where you're having success and am not pretty sure if this is a "want input" or a "how cool is this" topic. So, I'll just end it with: if you're having fun with it, that's what matters.

No more brevity folks.  If you wanna play Fantasy Flights Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game with your friends then you're going to have to stop telescoping your linguistics.  It's what's killing this game and we all know it.  I mean, what is more frustrating?  Getting outmaneuvered by someone more skilled at Fantasy Flights Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game than you are, or having to sift through piles of capitalized letters?  I know for a fact that my last tournament saw me do so poorly because my opponents had truncated lists.  FACT!  It had nothing to do with the fact that I flew my list backwards and off the mat, I was just so NPE'd... whoops sorry.  I mean to say that my play experience was so negative and it was entirely the fault of the other player.  They went to use their Plasma Torpedoes but said the name of the upgrade card in an abridged form... I nearly flipped the table! 
 
So, in short; we must ban brevity.  I know up there I said ban abbreviations, but that word is just so long I didn't want to type it out again so in order to save time and space I said brevity instead.
 
Edit:  Oh, and ban the Incom Corporation T-65B X-Wing Snubnose Starfighter.  With a name that long, it's just begging to be shortened and well, we all know how awful that makes the game!

I'm a little late to the party as I've been gone a few days, but anyone notice the ARC has no generic pilots?

I predict a Thundercats expansion.  The Feliner can be piloted by Liono, Panthro, Pumira, and Snarf. 

My plan has only just began to take shape but it's like this. I'm running a Return to Hoth campaign in Imperial Assault and i'm going to inject an x-wing game in to it just before the mid game interlude "Return to Echo Base" 
 
So I have a 3x3 snowy terrain Mat, I've bought a micro machines echo base and some ATAT's so the general idea is going to be that the rebel player has some bomb load-out Y-Wings and he's got to destroy the AT-AT's.
 

 
 
Also Dengar in the Punishing One will be there since he is a big villain in the Hoth campaign. 
 
I don't know exactly how the scenario is going to work yet (ideas will be appreciated) but the main focus will be on x-wing with the AT-AT's being a moving objective playing out down below, i will have some pick ups (fly overs) that will let the rebel draw cards from a small deck that will give more bombs to the Y-wings if they need them, and maybe stop the AT-AT's for a turn (Snow speeder card)
 
This evening I've been working out how to put the Rebel heroes in to a ships and this is what I've come up with so far.
 

 

 


 
 
Obviously I've just stolen HLC and FCS and shoved them on a falcon, I think i've done a decent job of capturing their characters and making a fun ship to fly, i'm just wondering about points costs? Don't worry about the cards use in other ships too much since that will never happen it's more just if I'm taking a standard scum list with Dengar I don't want the Rebels to be too good. Although I am doing this for narrative purposes so it's not that important.
 
PS The sidewinder is just because I have a Zombie Hedgehog custom YT-1300 I want to use for this too.
 

Just noticed the dead Stormtrooper at the bottom of the picture, and that the guys in camo-cloaks just above the right-hand-side engines look like they're strapped in for wire work.  Explosion that sends people flying perhaps?

I guess the U-wing really is going to be crash-and-burn on arrival.

I think the answer would be a certain gunboat.
 
I actually like the U-Wing a lot, and kinda hope to see the wings pivot, since they're referred to as s-foils.
 
As for the TIE Striker, the way the wings look, I'm hoping that they are on kind of pivot/swing mounts, a bit of wing movement on a TIE design would be an interesting thing to see, maybe a method to just cram even more of them into a small storage space. Moving parts are fun.
