Shuffle & Cut Games is excited to announce a Triple Kit Tournament for Android: Netrunner to take place Sunday, May 24th at 1:00 PM. All sets up to and including Breaker Bay will be authorized for this event.
Entry will be $10 and if you preregister online, you will be entered in to a drawing for a data pack of your choice from our current stock. We will be playing swiss rounds with no top cut for this event. In addition the the prizes listed below, $10 store credit will be added to the prize pool for each person in excess of 8 who attends. For instance, if 20 people play, then $120 store credit will be added to the prize pool.

Over at Shuffle & Cut Games in La Habra, CA, we've changed up our structure for X-Wing Miniatures Game Organized Play. Instead of offering a Seasonal Tournament Series along with casual play nights, we now offer a more casual organized play night every Friday. In addition, we are supplementing the weekly event with occasional more competitive events like this one here: X-Wing Quad Kit Tournament.
Introducing "The Points League" by Shuffle & Cut Games
We've retooled the "playtest for prizing system" we experimented with last year and are excited to share what we've been up to on Friday nights. The Points League is a league that's not a league. What the Points League offers, is a time and a place to play X-Wing Miniatures in a more casual environment, but without the week after week commitment that traditional leagues often require. It takes place every Friday night from whenever you get here (most people start showing up between 6:00 PM & 7:00 PM) until we close at Midnight.
When you buy in to the league for $5, you will receive a league point tracking sheet with room for up to three matches. Who you play and how many times you play them is entirely up to you. You will generate points based on how you perform each match. Each player gets 1 point for playing the match, and the winner receives an additional 2 points.Here's the fun part! When you finish your sheet (this can be in one night, or if you cant get all three games in, we will hold your sheet for you to finish on at a future event), the points you have earned can be traded in for store credit or stored as points.1 point = $1 store credit. Points can be traded for X-Wing promotional items such as the items from previous OP kits. Store Credit can be used to purchase any items we have in stock including X-wing Miniatures, LCG's, Board Games and even Collectible Card Game Singles (store credit can always be stored and saved for future purchases as well).When you cash out your sheet, you may split up how many points you redeem for store credit, and how many you save as points. However, once points have been stored, you cannot later redeem them for store credit.We are adding to our selection of items that can be obtained by trading points all the time. Some of the current items include acrylic tokens and promo cards like Han Solo (9 points) and Tycho Celchu (12 points). Late notice, but Shuffle & Cut's X-Wing Tournament Series Starts tonight!
Four nights of play across 8 weeks total plus a finals event.
Each week in the series has its own prizing but people who do well overall play in a free playoff event for more prizes. Only your top three finishes count toward overall standings so even if you miss or underperform one week you still have a shot at the playoff event.

Every Friday night until we start our next Tournament Series at Shuffle & Cut Games in La Habra, Ca we will have tables set up for open X-Wing Play.
We're also trying something new: something we like to call playtesting for prizes.
What is Playtesting for Prizes?
Playtesting for prizes is similar to a tournament in that you pay an entry fee of $5 and at the end of the night you earn prizes based on how well you did. What comes in between though, is entirely up to you.
When you sign up you will receive a match slip with room for up to 4 matches. Who you play, and how many times you play them is entirely up to you! Which format and how many points you fly is also up to you and your opponent to decide before each game!
Only in to standard play? Find four people to play all standard matches. Or, find one person and play four times. Because this isn't a tournament you can apply what you learn from your game right away by modifying your squad between each match. Bring your epic squads as well. You don't have to play Epic style all four matches if you don't want!
You could even do a 1v1 escalation tournament! Just find a partner and play 60pts the first match, 90 the second, 120 the third and 150 for your final match. Playtesting for prizes is all about getting people together to try out new ideas without having all of the formality that comes with a tournament. If you play through your four matches too quickly you can always buy back in for another $5.
Each game you play, win or lose, will earn you points. When your ready to leave, cash in your points for store credit or items we have left over from previous tournament and game night kits! Everyone who shows up for X-Wing on Fridays, regardless of how they choose to playtest will also receive a raffle ticket and be entered to win random pieces left over from previous kits!Click Here For the Facebook Event Page

Don't you think seven o'clock is kind of late? I'd be inclined to go, if not for the drive back to Riverside afterward.
It may be? This is our first foray into X-Wing, so we are basing things off what our local guys are telling us as well as trying not to overlap days with other stores in the area. Three rounds should be over by 11:00 PM which isn't too terribly late for a Friday; people have varying circumstances, of course. We are definitely open to suggestions. What are people looking for right now for X-wing?

Shuffle & Cut Games in La Habra, CA (thats in Northern Orange county just south of the LA County Border) has three events left in our summer tournament series.
Each week we have an entire Summer Tournament Kit as prizing. We will also be prizing out Wave 5 ships (or store credit if prefered) to players with the most amount of point after the series concludes.
Even if you didn't make the first week there are plenty of ways to catch up in points!
