What Targaryen cards can be used to make it summer?

[Loyal to the last (question)]

After I play my event card "Loyal to the last",

Can any of the attacking characters I kill have any way of being saved by any players event cards or such?

 

(is their a reference to a printed rule that I can show to prove this also?)

"If only king character in play, characters with lower strength cannot be declared as defenders."

 

When Balon Greyjoy has an attachment that raises his base strength, do we use his base strength or total strength to see whether we can defend or not?

Kneel True-Queens Harbinger to lower the cost of the next Dothraki or Dragon character you play or put into play using Ambush this phase by 1.

 

Does this mean only ambush cards I have in my hand can be used  or can I use any card at all in my hand for ambush??
