One tournament in a meta that just had its top list nerfed. -

I'd venture to guess that you're a rarity. Are you seeing non-Bugs, or are your generics mostly bugs? -

Imagine if you saw FO swarms or Scyk swarms as often as you saw force aces. -
Quoted for Truth.

It also has the much more common counter of "kill a ship, get stressed, and not die because you've got either passive defenses or you used a ship that wasn't easily focused next turn by the swarm". They typical X-wing player wants to play aces, I suspect, if tournament ship counts are any indication. The enormous prevalence of the Nantex swarm suggests that many, many players don't ignore something just because they think it's not fun to play against. The whole history of X-wing bears this out. I suspect tje bigger reason is that players want to initiative kill things and reposition after other ships, and for all its strengths, the Sloane swarm does neither of those things.

She's arguably better than 5th, 7th, etc., in the same squads, but to get the most out of her you have to take a lot of ships that are not the best ships in the game. So the Coruscant winning squad is better with Sloane than 7th Sister, but that's probably not the case for all crew carriers in any squad. The much more common 3 ship lists tend to like getting a force point on a ship than Sloane, or more accurately not taking a crew carrier at all.

I could see HLC, but maybe alongside another cannon if you had the points. Might be pretty meta dependent. There's definitely some lists where a bullseye can be expected 2-3 times per game. Lyttan can get it double modded vs a lot of stuff, too, while repositioning. -

The thing that makes me want to look at Ion, maybe, is that with 4-5 other ships, you can probably trade a little damage for some control. 3 ship lists would have a harder time, of course. -
Is the slow, heavy sigh that obvious? You usually scream Heroic before I even have a chance to get excited.

I got some non-theoretical play with Lyttan. 1.) I never tried very hard to get the ability to activate. I planned my approach to be in a location that had a better chance of being in some flanks, but it was mostly just corners clipping the side arc anyway, which happened a lot. 2.) In an Imperial squad full of 3agi low hp ships, it was nice to have a 9 hp chunk to fill up the most vulnerable position that I knew would soak some damage and still live. 3.) Synched is good for the 3 dice, but I rarely used the calc ability (I used the maneuver bot). Different cannon combinations really seem worthwhile to explore. 4.) White barrel roll into a calculate from the maneuver bot is pretty cool. -
Thats like the T70 mantra.

It's a steady, consistent level of mad.

I think Wedge and Luke are my favorite Rebel ships, and they conveniently leave room for a Falcon, but not a very heavily upgraded one. I find that I'm terrible with Falcons, however, so ignore me.

Lyttan and 4 Sabers for me! Although honestly a heavy + 7 Academies or 6 Ruthless Black Squadron Aces is pretty interesting to me. I like the idea of the chunky toddler TIE fighter as a counterpoint to the regular ties. It's strong against different things, but is cheap enough that it doesn't water down the squad or lose that sweet "No Shields, All Guts" vibe. Also not having the Reaper's weird movement patterns is a bonus. -
But Interceptors don't suck.

I can say from my point of view I used both 5th and 7th a fair amount. I found they could hold their own against ships that cost 50% more than them, and were completely superior to ships of the same cost. I'm actually shocked they weren't used more often against the Nantex scourge, as they were almost invulnerable to the turrets and pretty effective moving first or last. I think they're Extended good, not Hyperspace good. If I was able to play on one of the online tournaments, I would have taken both of them. This is all based on experience, not data, so make of that what you will. -

I think they're best suited for a change-up in an imperial squad, as a blocker or support or debuff ship, so being a few extra points isn't a big deal, as you're not taking a bunch of them. This opinion is based on zero times playing them, so ymmv. -
I've always wanted to play Kulbee Sperado, but he always has ben a couple points more than the spot he would fit in my list until the most recent points change, and then, y'know, Covid.

A-wings are so fair.

Now that Nantexes are diminished in their threat level. All of those who argued that Nanatexes were horrible for the game because they made it super hard to play mid/low initiative ships can justifiably turn their ire against RZ2s. 5 ships that can fight while arc dodging, are difficult to block, and have a very high initative average are just the thing that noble non i5/i6 ships need the community to be vigilant about.

I fully support one point Slash, on RZ1s.

Starbird Slash is 1 point. There is no justice on the world.

I had this problem, then realized I kept changing my speed on accident because the left stick on a ps4 controller wasn't very discreet. I kept hitting up and down when I was trying to hit left and right.
