Of course, what we try to explain with sentences like that is that board games that heavily rely on apps, let's say, board games that remove some rules or mechanics from the board and a lot of content is exclusively managed by the app are, in fact, very similar to a video game that must be played with a board.
Some mechanics managed by the app seems fine. For example, the AI after the monsters in MoM follow some guidelines such as "if monster X then Y", and you just move the minis. Seems nice to me, because the end result is a mini moving physically through the board and you know the logic behind the movement... But having the process of crafting an object, develop your character, or shopping completely built in the app...  seems too much to me.
The line between both concepts seems really thin here, and in fact, one can think it is better to play online a video game as you don't need to place all that stuff on the table, and you can play with your friends anyway!
Due to corona my gaming group has needed to remain separated, but as we played a lot of D&D, we have switched to a digital platform, Roll20. It is fun to play with them through the internet, and in fact we don't miss the beautiful battle maps or the beautifully painted minis because now I use beautiful digital landscapes, beautiful digital battle maps and beautiful tokens on the screen... because we still play a role playing game, we still see each other and we still joke and laugh a lot. So NO, the difference between a video game and a board game is NOT the presence of the players around the table, the difference is the way the abstract rules are managed by actual persons, not an app.

I watched the whole video.   I do not like that it is a one and done type of game.   The app will only have 3 save slots forcing you to run the whole campaign.
I get that they can have a smart AI with an app.   I get they can resolve combat with the app quicker.  I get that they can give you weapon bonuses.
But, why would I not just play a video game that is a turn base RPG?

I feel that distinguishing between the power and accuracy of a shot would only add an extra step and slow the game down. If you just look at the game from one level higher you would talk about weapon effects (accuracy + power) and, to me, that’s what the dice represent. 3 dice are more effective than 2, perhaps it’s a bigger gun perhaps it’s got better targeting, perhaps both. For a simple quick game like this, one roll and a counter roll is sufficient.

So I have not had a chance to play this against a human (Italian quarantine and all) but I have gotten smashed by fly casual every time.  5 X-Wings are a lot of 3 dice attacks...  As was said before, it is too easy to get two 3 red dice attacks for the same price and Dash's 2 green just mean you pay more for his 10 hit points then you should.  I think large ships should take a play out of the huge ships book and get a way to pay for a second attack (yes Bistan, but less restrictive).

I'm a big fan of generics. TIE interceptor used to be my favorite ship in X-wing because they have enough attack dice to be scary, and when the defense dice work out they just won't die. Of course, sometimes they pop, but you just roll with the punches. Great dial, too.
Now I prefer the TIE striker. I get more enjoyment out of the pre-movement Adaptive Ailerons. And the extra hull for one less defense die has grown on me. I really like the 1-speed Koiogran Turn.
Caveat: I got into strikers at the end of first edition, and have been playing them a lot in second edition. I have had limited experience with generic TIE interceptors in Second Edition, but I really like what I've seen so far. The Autothrusters ability really helps generics move around the board because they can focus and still get a reposition action. Their recent price drop also helps immensely.
I like the following archetype, though it's not optimized. Probably need a bid, but who cares.

Dash is bad. One 4-dice gun with 10hp is nowhere near as good as two Red Squadron Veterans.

Not really no, for the reason you just wrote out. Also requires you to save a focus, so you're either not using 1 on defense or shooting an unmodded shot.
Might account for why people think Dash is 'terrible'.

the cheapest/best set up I've seen for Dash would be Expert Handling, Perceptive Copilot, and Bistan.  The double tap that Bistan provides helps Dash to earn his points sooner and/or mitigate unlucky rolls with additional attacks.  Still tough to fit half decent wingmen in with him.

The best single wing for Empire is pretty clearly Tie Defenders. I'm in the Daredevil Vessery+2xJuke Onyx camp, but any way you build it, it's easilly worth half your list. (It also costs half your list). Runner up is generic Inquisitor+5 tie fighters, for raw dice spam on a maneuverable wingleader.

I agree with you that range 4 on a defender will be hard to damage.
But considering the defender doesn't shoot at range 4, the odds of the defender being damaged are better than the Raider being damaged.

This just serves the ego of the not stupid. It does not turn the stupid into clever.
Whether the latter is possible just depends on how much of a pessimist you are and how generous you feel like being. It's a matter of belief.
But sure, if your ego means you wish to view the stupid as irrecoverable, then go straight in with the rude and give yourself a big pat on the back for being clever.
Mutual benefit. If there is none, you achieve nothing. That's not intelligence.

Edit. I'd like to disassociate myself with the word stupid. It's nothing but an insult. A more useful term would be 'incomplete understanding leading to erroneous beliefs' But that's kind of a mouthful to insert here....

That's fair.  And it can vary, depending on what you're facing.  I don't think defenders are bad.  They are a fantastic ship.
But I think Epic has so many efficient things that would cost less.  For 200 points, I can fully kit out a raider that regens 2 shields a turn, makes multiple attacks, and does much more consistent damage.
I think some of the large ships just do more for the cost.  The biggest upside I see for a defender wing is running Rexler.  Crits on a huge ship can be devastating.  I do love the idea of him getting to freely flip damage cards over.  he doesn't really need a whole bunch of upgrades either.

„The attack range is determined by measuring range from the closest point of the attacker to the closest point of the defender that is in the attack arc.“
Therefore you take the arc the Tuebolaser Battery is pointing to and measure distance from attacker to the defender in that arc.

But aren't the turrets "in the middle" for the CR-90?  The dials are on the front and rear pegs are only because that's physically the post they spin around. . .

Agreed, a I1 delta is 67 points.  So, if you took a full wing (IE 6 ships), that's over 400 points.  For 6 I1's with no upgrades.  If you have named pilots and upgrades, this wing is basically your entire list.  If I was facing that, I'd ram it with a huge ship.  It's be great

I choose not to identify with official formats, I am my own person.  That said I play on a very irregular 4 by 5 foot star field mat and I find it has plenty of room for a 500 point game death match.
