    Usually the Shuttle with Palpatine, Soontir Fel with Autothrusters, Cloaking Device, Royal Guard TIE and Push the Limit and Darth Vader with Push the Limit and other upgrades of your choice.
     
    How well does it do against the current meta?  It's strong if you fly it correctly.  You need to learn to arc dodge like a champ, I played a game last night where I used Soontir to arc dodge like a true ace and took out a YV-666, Misthunter and Scyk fighter all without taking a single hit (The decimator took the major brunt of the damage before it was destroyed by the other three but that's a tale for another thread).
     
    You can also use the new Inquisitor or a Phantom if the points allow, but the big two are Shuttle with Palp and Soontir who is your shining star.

    The Raider really doesn't make any sense in a 100 point game. First, you would still need to know the Energy rules and other such rules for Huge ships anyway, because the Raider's primary weapon has an ability to shoot twice if you spend energy, you need to know how to move it, etc.
     
    Secondly, a Raider (or Rebel Corvette, for that matter) without any support from other ships is almost guaranteed to lose. All the opponent has to do is get a couple of ships behind you to win. Since the Raider can't fire behind itself, and it only turns at a rate of 30o per round, it can't ever shake off a fighter on its tail.
     
    Thirdly, the Huge ships are massively underpowered without upgrades, even in Epic games. You usually need to spend at least 20 points on upgrades for the Raider to really be useful.
     
    Your best bet is to make an effort to actually learn the Huge ship rules and play either a real Epic game or the scenarios that come in the rule book packaged with the Raider. They're really not as complex as you might think, and no one will care if you make a few mistakes the first few times you try. You can even try doing a semi-Epic game at 200 points on a slightly-larger-than-normal play area (maybe 4'x3'?), if you're really hesitant about going all the way to the full 300 points of Epic.

    The naked cost of the Raider is 100 pts with no crew, secondary weapons or upgrades. The raider player will get creamed. Run the scenarios that came with the ship. They're actually fun and once you get the idea of flying the wedge they only last a little longer than a standard 100 pt game.

    The First Sale Doctrine has longstanding legal precedence in the U.S. Once you buy something, you can do whatever you want with it.
     
    I am not a lawyer, but my understanding is that contracts which violate existing law are unenforceable. 
     
    If a retailer wanted to break the agreement, it would become a game of chicken to see who is willing to cave first, or spend more money on lawyers. I'm guessing the case could probably go either way. FFG does not have a small army of lawyers running around its offices, it would almost certainly have to hire an external law firm if it actually came to court.

    Both have good ships, great pilots and GREAT upgrades. Tonight I ran Red Ace with Comm Relay and R2-D2.  Loved it.  Juke is the new hotness.  And while many are questioning the value of the FO, I will say there isn't a bad ability among them.

    I don't think it will ever happen. The game was designed around 100 points and a lot of stuff is blanced around that point value.
    There's no reason why you can't play 110 or 150, or 750 point games if you want. But I'll be surprised to see the tournament value ever change.

    Hi all! New to IA but been playing X-Wing (and other wargames) for a while now. I've just picked up a core set and a few expansions and haven't got a skirmish game under my belt yet so I'm very interested to see if some of you good folks would be happy to explain a few list archetypes to me, how they work and what to consider with the Command deck.
     
    I've seen lots of reference to 4x4 and Rebel Blast as top tier lists but don't really understand the composition or synergies as an IA "noob". Thanks!

    I've ran Ep leader with howl, mauler, omega squad and black squad all with PTL (cept Ep leader) and stealth device on howl. I ran it as a fun list to try out my f/I's alongside my l/n's but the list performed waaay better than I thought. It's 3-0 so far and I thought I'd get wiped with just 5 ties at 100 points

    If you're running a swarm action economy, then logically you want offensive, not defensive action economy. 
     
    Because an opponent can (and will) focus down ships in a swarm, having 4 ties focus+evade is marginally better than just focus - 3 evade tokens won't get used in many situations, as only one tie will be shot at. 
     
    And when you compare the cost for those useless evades - PTL black vs academy pilots - it just doesn't make sense. 
     
    And you won't get offensive action economy on ties that is better than howlrunner + swarm.
     
    So, if you want to make epsilon leader work, look for action-starved ships that want to use their actions offensively and have access to PTL. I think defenders & bombers maybe?

    I like to actually describe what the topic is about with the title. I can't tell you how many times I've gone into the Squad List subforum and found 19/20 threads titled 'scum list' or 'Psycho Tycho list' or whatever other non-descript trash title that tells you little/nothing about their contents.
    Hence going overboard. In the rules forum I made a longer one, it maxed out on characters haha.

    1. There are no autowin lists in this game - I'm sorry you feel that way.
    2. The meta just got blown wide open by wave 7 and TLTs - I would strongly consider sticking around to see how the game develops
     
    If you think X-Wing is bad in terms of "net lists" then clearly you've never played anything along the lines of WH40k, WHFB, or WM/H. Those games have a way more prevalent power list curve. By comparison X-Wing is an extremely well balanced game.
     
     
     
    All that aside, if you own the Rebel Transport and its not listed I would consider keeping a hybrid panic attack list. It uses OT ships and control will always be a decent list choice.

    I just want to make sure I have it correct.
     
    Suppose I play Scum against my opponent's fat Han (say ~60 points).  Both of us have 100 point builds.  We play with standard rules, including today's FAQ.  I lose 2 Binayre Pirates (24 points) and nothing else.  I did not kill anything but managed to get fat Han down to 5 hull left (i.e. did more than 50% damage to it).  Under the new scoring rules, would I win the game as 30>24?

    Being forced to purchase a new core set to continue playing tournament play is totally unfair.
     
    A cynical person might say FFG is happy forcing this change in order to sell more core sets. Include the fact that there have already been a few forced purchase updates like Rebel Aces for AW's or, worst of all, the Raider for TieA's.
     
    I don't care about the new core set, the new T-70 or the new TIE's, and I certainly don't want to be forced to buy them to continue playing a game I have invested significant money into.
     
    I don't believe a company like FFG, with talented game designers, couldn't come up with a way of allowing all players to participate in X-Wing Organized Play instead of excluding those unwilling to buy a new core set.

    IMO Brobots are among the least affected large ship lists. Assuming people's predictions are correct, we'll see more swarms (regular and TLT), and brobots can prevent swarm damage way better than Fat Han/RAC can.
