The current system open templates are legit the coolest prize i've ever seen ffg do, possibly across all thier games. The little attention to detail, like how the different speeds correspond to the different call signs is just awesome. I've given away or sold every set of ffg templates i've won since 2015 , I actually thought about not buying a plane ticket to phx and just using the money to buy templates, but the allure of a post points tournament along with not being in wisconsin was too much

I dont know if we touched on the exact topic, but I fully agree people don't have the obligation to bring something fun to play against, but when I know I'm not going to enjoy my games of x wing, why am I playing?

I often wonder how many people are sort of unthinkingly playing x wing out of habit at this point. I ponder this constantly when we have arguments about what's fun. I got a real stark contrast of the worst of the x wing community and the best of l5r juxtaposed into the same weekend. I'm desperately trying to convince myself to play x-wing at Phoenix and it's not looking great. Trip ups, quad phantoms and dash are all things I'm just dreading playing, if stuff like that shows up in future waves, it won't be hard to transition fully over to l5r.

I started an extended league right after 2.0 dropped, i walked in one night and everyone was mutually agreeing to play hyperspace. We have a few of us going to phoenix, but we've done zero practice because none of us want to play extended, especially pre points. Also, I look forward to seeing you there!

Its funny that you used danger zone for wedge. I have a pump up video that I don't use often because I don't like to go back to the same well, but the times I've used it include north American champs in '15 and '17. I've been moving further away from x wing so I don't think I'll jinx anything sharing it here

As one of the people talking about supernatural, I think the closer answer is I (and maybe we) underestimated everything else. I did not realize how good Vader crew was, I could tell redline and boba were strong, but didn't have them as S tier, and Sloane is stresshog lowrick and Biggs all at once, to name a few. If I had to pick one ship for one game in wave one it would have been Vader. That said the burden of execution over a long tournament is definitely higher with Supernatural, which influenced my decision making at theb two tournaments I've been to.

If you're traveling to big events you're either spending the money or borrowing from friends. That said I like the i1 u wing better, almost anything under "I5 with a bid" is basically 0 anyway so you might as well be a better blocker

Hard part is most of that is low init jousters which the game is inheriently hostile towards right now.
