You put it on Braylen to eat crits aimed at Dutch (also Braylen rerolls make him slightly harder to kill), Cassian pulls stress when needed, and Wedge is more Ace insurance that strictly Jedi insurance. If you are going to drop him, I guess question is, what are you subbing for 55 points? Norra? Thane? Biggs?

Why on earth are you protecting dutch though?

The points from wedge could be used to not take a basically naked y wing

As a Kylo main: no. The Silencer is the best chassis in the game, bc who would have guessed that an Interceptor that trades its mods and evade for 6 health (2 being shields), the lock action, both munition slots, and the tech slot would be good? Nobody, of course.

Now Kylo is not the best force user (that goes to Anakin hands down). But his ship is scarily good. And the general rule for superships--especially positionally dependent ones--is that the initiative caps at 5. The better the chassis, the more likely the rule is enforced. Anakin in a Delta 7 is barely ok to allow, although he's really pushing hard the threshold of broken in the right hands, but an I6 TIE Defender that can advanced sensors a yeet in compromising turns on 7 token stacked hp is a big no. Vader in the X1 is held back by no native boost, but an I6 Starviper is doomsday. It is assumed that the game's best chassis should not have an I6.

If the silencer/sf thingy is more along Delta 7B power levels (preferably beneath them), I6 Kylo in that could be cool. Heck, since everyone fears his waxing power matched only by Rey's similarly growing power, you could give both sequel force users in their new forms 3 force charges. But I6 supernatural Silencer Kylo that only needs to kill 27 pts as that is only 1 pts more than his killed epsilon friend that makes the list legal..that's NPE, even if not optimal

I liked this because you told @Boom Owl to git gud,(git gud @Boom Owl)  but also that's a good analysis on ship design and how it impacts the game

My reaction to First Order is just "more cowbell".  Like, they're missing something, I just can't quite tell what.  I don't dislike any of their chasis and they have some good pilots, but just...I dunno, missing some cowbell.

I actually love the first order as currently constructed, and with the new tie coming in, they seem to be prepped to get even better. Kylo is a true ace, the sf platform is very versatile, the ups is still an incredibly strong platform, and there are several cool/strong abilities on the tie fo. Mark Moriarty  ran a very similar build to the "zack and chris special" at gencon (thanks alex and ben) those kinda meld  the rainbow of cool stuff the fo has, On the other end, My boy, milwaukee guy, krayt on top on top, Tim O won the madison hyperspace with 5 optic fanatic tie SFs, and then there's also the well publicized kylo 2ups. There's plenty to do with this faction and I think we're just starting to break it in.

Okay so can someone explain berwer ket to me?  Is he like tallie in that his ability is "mobile I5"?  Or is there some world where a vulture doesn't want to calculate for its action but is willing to take a stress for a calc but only maybe if this guy's attack hits but if not no big deal?

this seems like a good way to setup target lock calc on a target, also yes

They could have been 3, but then they couldn’t have been so dang cheap. Also Struts would be abusive, for sure.

    Woooo!

Are they lining up to be pretty terrible again this year? I don’t actually pay attention to sports, and I don’t get any idea of how things are going secondhand since moving out of state :P

My football interest has been waning for some time, i skipped the 14/15 nfc championship game to attend my first x wing store championship. X wing sort of replaced football as the thing i deep dive/over analyze. The only Wisconsin sport i follow particularly closely is Bucks basketball which anyone whose been in earshot of me during a hyperspace trial can confirm :P

Stream Game commentary is ok and really fun to listen to depending on the hosts but live streams are more hanging out with the community than the pursuit of highly strategic content. Its a challenge I think even for great players to provide analysis on a game as its happening. The best tactical content is typically Recorded Game Reviews with an emphasis on explaining options and general turn to turn strategy. Awhile back the Krayts recorded a video explaining  Inert Han, pausing to John Madden telestrat options and explain what was going on or could/should be on peoples minds. They key is it was a game that already happened, wasn't being discussed live. I find this substantially more useful than the "micd up players talking in separate mics, or commentators live reviewing stream games". The key is that the games are reviewed after they happened with time for the commentators to think about what they are saying unless the commentary is from Tony Romo I guess. Classic Game Reviews are useful strategic content, but its time consuming and still tricky since it leads to having to explain very specific moments. Echo Base does some of this which is cool, but I think theres room for alot more of it. Doesnt even need to be "good" games even breaking down games where one player messed up terribly or the lists are mistmatched has value to newer players.

Itd be super fun to see some of that Krayt Patreon Kraytcoin invested in Krayt Redzone and Krayt Classic Games.

Could use some NFL Films Music to. Itd be great.

I played him for like 3 games, so I'll defer to your experience.

though I'd think he'd be about as good as blount at getting it off?

i have maybe a dozen games? but ususally my opponent had some idea of what was happening, i think blount is more hype because you have this stupid cheap extra ship that can randomly give you an extra die as opposed to "just" rerolls. Horton ususally was hanging outwith cassian wedge and failed barrell braylen when i played him, which may have affected my opponents willingness and the lists ability to set him up

note this comes mostly from playing swarmy type lists

if it's the 2x2, nuke the support ships as fast as possible, hope you have enough ships left to bully the aces in the end game.

against the aces, being flexible with target priority has helped. You can't over commit to one, since they bug out so easily, always be thinking about when and where to turn into a flanking ace to keep them honest. I've kinda of just accepted that all my piddling 2 die shots aren't likely to 1 round a regen ship, so they'll get the regen, its just getting enough points early and keeping pressure so they can't come back.

    2x2?

Played vs Electro Proton Bombs once. In a local tournament.

    Damage:

Wedge: ioned, and weapons disabled when he had a torp locked and loaded.

Thane: lost a shield, ioned beautifully to get wrecked next turn.

    My ships: no damage.

    My curiosity has been satisfied.

welcome to the electro casino baby

Im sorta less interested in specific list building counters ( easy part ) and more interested in game strategy to make regen ace matchups slightly better. I like to start there and build my lists for field matchups after sorting that out.

in 1.0 i strongly believed that you probably needed to focus your guns on the regen target while you still had them on the table, especially if you don't have a more expensive endgame piece or something that lets you deal damage unconventionally, I probably have more games against regen corran than anyone on the planet (thanks nathan). in 2.0 regen is mercifully toned down, but force users are still incentived to dip out and recoup, even if it's not as belligerant. I don't have a solid strategy for 2e, but i know there are some 1e lessons that have changed. I will take shots of opportunity at regen ships in 2e. If i've got exactly one range 1 shot on a regenner, i'll take it, as where in 1.0 shooting a full heath corran or poe with just 1 ship was probably a waste of my time if i didn't think i could follow it up the next turn or two, or if the noble and fair r3a2 wasn't involved. I think the biggest thing that has to be taken account with the regen ships, is understand where their half point thresholds really are, and don't count on them as points you have until they can't regen above half.  I'm sure i'll end up getting more games in against regen in the near future, since i seem to be motivated to play again. I'll try to note anything else i find that works
