nothing is rotated out of hyperspace
- why does this format even exist anymore
- I'm mad about it
- so much wasted potential
-
sun fac naked is more than soontir fel
- mad about this too
-
sun fac with ensnare is like a thousand points
- I am in fact not mad about it
- it might still be too cheap
-
precog is only 10 points on obi-wan
- seething
- republic games might never end before time again
- I'm doomed to keep being mad about obi-wan until january I guess
-
ahsoka is only 12 points
- m a d
medium amounts of mad
-
the nantex not at i6 might be pretty strong with their more aggressively cheap ensnare
- still mad about sun fac being 54 base
- chertek and berwer and generics all seem plausibly good
- ensnare as cheap as 10 for the lower inits is probably a mistake
- deflection is maybe overpriced or maybe not, I'm not sure
-
anakin at 60 seems maybe too high
- I'm not mad, jedi are the enemy
-
oddball is more than norra
- why is oddball more than norra?
-
I'm just gonna put precog in every category because jesus why
- stop trying to give jedi pre-dial reposition
- the game doesn't need this, just stop
- why
low amounts of mad
-
snap and foresight seem maybe fine
- I'm not confident snap is fine
- I'm also not confident foresight is fine
-
I don't care about targeting computer
- also they robbed the nantex of its mod slot
- why is only Vader allowed to have afterburners?
-
precog
- precog
-
contraband cybers is hyperspace legal now
- dorsal turret still isn't for some reason
- I wish this format was good
I keep going back and forth on precog. Its definitely too cheap, but im trying to decide if the mechanic is ever okay. When this design team took over, one of the very first things released was the tie phantom and OG whisper/cloak, it feels like these are all repeated attempts to get a mechanic right, that im starting to suspect just can't be corrected.
The hyperspace thing is maddening too, ffgop is doing so well across so many games that its bizzare they have this massive blindspot here. We've had very few new players since second edition started, and the rare occasion new people express interest, i still have to remove myself from the conversation at the gamestore. I still can't recommend buying in, and it kills me a little to see other people ineffectually try to sell the game when they're half the salesmen i am.

I guess we'll see what the pricing is like but sadly I can see the community getting upset if they cost much more than their impressions of how much printing cards costs, yet if we want to see this as a viable way to keep the game fresh it really needs to be reasonably profitable for them still.
i suspect the margins are really really good. People pretty happily pay $15 for 60 or so cards in the lcg model, and i suspect you can dial that "value" down a bit and the market will bear it.

TIL i'm way behind on handing out prize kits lol.

Id say HSTs are a pretty fair level to include them given how many there were. Not sure what kits you did, but the last round of kits we did locally have had metal tokens, so id say ffg has done well on that front

Well, I'm guessing it's cheaper than the hotel and travl costs, so this is just the market in action.

That whole section put me on another Mynock listening hiatus. Gross. Ryan is great. Maybe Dee is in person.
Dee is great in person, can confirm

are you implying that no party in the equation is infallible or should be held to that standard? That's pretty bold in 2019

By my metric, SNR has perhaps not been nuked from orbit, because maybe people are still making it work on Kylo?
Tactical Officer has been nuked from orbit, however, even though it only went up to 6 points. It was made competitively non-viable because it was seen in the same vicinity as Rebel Beef on a few occasions. And Inertial Dampeners has already been pointed out. There are other examples.
I honestly can't figure out if FFG is bad at trying to determine which cards in a list are the problem ... or if they just don't care, as long as the list goes away (and when it carries non-offending cards with it, too bad). I can make pretty good arguments for both. (So maybe it is both!)
I'm not sure if ffg is bad, but players definitely are, ffg to some extent, likely wants to appease players, regardless of how wrong they likely are.

Basic Definition is ( End Game Ace/Flanker + Squad ) where the list mostly exists in a loose formation or completely out of formation, though it can opt into being a box.
The more individual pieces can stand on their own the better. Sometimes points allow 1-2 or more Aces to be in the Squad part of the list.-
FO:
- Kylo + QD + Scorch + Rivas/Longshot/Null
- Kylo + BD + Scorch + Longshot etc.
- Sense Kylo + Scorch + Longshot + Epsilon + Epsilon
- QD + 3-4 variants

Republic:
- Obi + Ric + 3 Torrents
- Obi + Ric or Arc + 2 Arcs
- Obi + 5 Torrents
-
Resistance:
- Poe + AAA
- Poe + AAA + Finn
- Poe + Fin + 2
-
Rebels:
- Luke + Wedge + Arvel + Jake
- Luke + Wedge + B + B
- Luke + Wedge + Thane + 1
- Luke + UUU
- Sense Luke + B + ZZZZ
-
Empire
- Vader Burners + Howl + Iden + 2x Carls
- Juke Whisper + 4 Strikers
- Soontir + Duchess + 3 Alphas/Sentinels
-
Scum
- Fenn + 3 Cartel Executioners
- Fenn + 3 Cartels + 2 Z95s
- Fenn + 2 Vipers + Stuff
-
Separatist
- Kraken + Soul + Impervium + Bomber ESC Probes + 4x ESC Vultures
Generally these dont have a Big base as part of the "Squad" but that doesn't mean there arent examples that do.
Not just looking for 4-5 Ship lists. A little more specific than that I guess. Is it easier to build now that you know the definition of ace?
