I doubt amg does, i think i said it above, but the forums cost money to run, they can just have an intern monitor discord, facebook, and reddit.

But the point still stands, I'd rather like some veterans like yourself if you really are Max, I wouldn't put it past folks to create an alt and claim your name. still working on the game to be able to veto missteps that have already came before.
Also, thanks for all the effort and creativity put into the game. Best of luck in your future endeavors!
Alex revealed in an interview years ago you can tell who the head dev was on a wave because thier name appears first in the credits in the package, doesn't mean anything in there was 100% on that person, but definitely the best place to start

...Or are they both gone as well...?
Brooks was let got months ago, shortly before adepticon. I don't think they've moved onto anything else yet. Frank is the only person I haven't heard anything on. I had the opportunity to talk to him at worlds and he said he was still with ffg but not working on x-wing.
I was immensely sad to hear the news about Max. Max had wonderful insight into both the game and community. He was my favorite dev and the game is dramatically more fun because of him.

Former dev max has a website now! I am incredibly sad that he's not working on x wing. I adore max and the way he went about the game, the silver lining is that some of his insights are here for all of us now. https://www.maxbrooke.com/articles/swimming-with-sharks-reflections-on-competitive-players

that is sort of the real answer, companies have been moving to reddit and discord for a while and getting like one intern to mod it a little, if the forums go down, that's likely what happnes.

Neat?
There are two great tragedies in life, not getting what you want, and getting it.

Didn't Aces get defined a few pages back? Someone should scroll up and check.
I hid the definition, broken up non sequentially among my old posts. You can go look

1 minute ago, gennataos said:That's an...interesting point. So you're saying points drop on RZ-2 generics?

Maybe? Uniques with mostly blank abilities open up some cool design space to allow a chassis to stay cheap but not be spammable as well. I think it was @Brunas who asked during an ama something to the effect of "if a generic is good, how do you keep spamming that generic from being the right answer?" obviously 2.0 has been comfortable using the dots on pilots, but only on some pilots. If the points went UP on the generics this would be a cool way to backdoor keep lists focused on multiple rz2s on the table, without giving them so much room to shave points and get extra advantages on the margins.

It made me raise an eyebrow, too. I'd definitely thought of all I5 A-Wings, but hadn't arrived at this idea. That said, Marcel and Nick Tobin doing great with an A-Wing list doesn't move the "for the masses" needle for me much more than @kenoslaw doing great with an A-Wing list (which he did). The other guy who made cut with all A-Wings (Maui) is also a pretty big A-Wing guy, from what I understand.
To keep poking the RZ-2 bear (I'd say in an objective manner, but I'm biased):
- Merl shouldn't be the same price as an I1 generic, that's dumb
- Suralinda shouldn't be cheaper than an I3 generic, that's super dumb
- The abilities of Seftin, Tallie, Wrobie and Suralinda are mostly blank and they should probably be priced accordingly. I think only Suralinda isn't
- The compression of the points for RZ-2s is weird and makes things end up weirder with named vs. generic stuff
- Tangentially, I'd like to see the half dozen or so unplayed T-70 pilots get a points drop to make RZ-2 inclusion less of a default list building choice
All of the weird pricing on the new a wings will feel better if the rest of the a wings get price drops in line with it. The way i see it, if the devs think i3 a wings should be 33 and surlindas ability isn't particularly useful, there's no reason to release surlinda at 33 and then drop her when next points come out. It reminds me of something Alex Davy said at gencon after the fang was released, he was asked if the fang costing what it did would kill the khirax, to which he responded, there's no reason to chase bad design decisions with more bad design and that probably applies here.

Gotta get over it, there's enough rerolls and mods in 2.0 that a dice roll ain't final. Buddy of mine got 2 procs and saved 3 damage, I didn't blink. I believe in you dude

ususally i make zatch bart or @Brunas do math for me. Sometimes i do math on my own

i'm not sure the math for jamming beam really helps the rest of the squad, unless its like, a reinforced ghost, but im also too lazy to do the math right now

12 minutes ago, gennataos said:If I can avoid formation flying, I will. There were at least a couple times between the two games that I had to consider movement order and it was important, but doubt it's necessary. You can easily slot in Bastian and Nimi and immediately improve the efficiency of the list. I was running the I4 because:
- Baseline test
- HoH came with two more BSA cards/bases, so I could actually run the list without borrowing!
- Safety net of MUH HEROIC (not really, but....maybe)
[edit] - I guess it just comes down to the meta and if I4 means anything. Seems like it does.
putting aside a lifetime of conversations @Brunas has had about heroic, it would seem like snap would lower the value of heroic since you occasionally get shot while strained. Mods plus obstacles makes me think maybe snap makes backwards tail slide not a joke? My first instint, while a little on the wholesome side, would be like snap-nimi-blue-ello for four t70s or maybe one of the i5 a wings pulled from a hat with some points in upgrades is a little better? Snap seems solid and Ello seems like a ship that's probably the happiest to have him around (high I, doesn't need a ton of upgrades taken off of other ships). Nimi also seems to like snap thanks to the sort of synergy of likely having more eyeballs around. The list certainly looks fun and is on my docket to try

2 hours ago, gennataos said:Riffing off what @MasterShake2 said....
I used new Snap with 3 heroic BSAs for a couple games last night. My opponent and I were surprised at how powerful it felt. Things that made it feel great:
- I locked on approach more than I thought I would. Makes sense once one ship is already damaged, because the opponent will want to keep shooting at them
- Mod when doing a red move (obviously)
- Mod when doing JUST a barrel roll (less obvious)
- Mod when going over obstacles (even less obvious (to me))
- Mod when bumping (discovered on accident). Tactical self-bumps are even better.
- The big one, IMO, is being able to make that strain/calc determination at the start of engagement for each ship is kind of a big deal. No shot, probably don't do it. Already have bullseye, maybe don't do it. I don't think I can stress this enough.
how important was being all i4? Seems like since the list can easily be out of formation (thanks 0-3!) you can run a myriad of t70s at different initiatives, and just the jump from i3 to i4 ends up being a good chunk of points.

You can fit a cheap Thane/Wedge and Jake/Arvel/maybe Blount? in there alongside a slightly thinner Han/Leia/Lando but probably not next to Dash. Massed Z-95s or A-Wings could do the trick if they went down just a touch in points, and Leia or Han+3 Blue Squadron Pilots does fit, albeit with no upgrades.
There's plenty of options for two decent friends with the falcon, but i think you'll be unhappy more often than not against most other factions options, especially in extended, barring any wild point swings. There's some decent options in hyperspace, i'm particularly curious to see how some of the large base rebels do with less bullseye nantex floating around.
Also @Boom Owl generic x wings are fun, how dare you exclude them!

All of those who argued that Nanatexes were horrible for the game because they made it super hard to play mid/low initiative ships can justifiably turn their ire against RZ2s. 5 ships that can fight while arc dodging, are difficult to block, and have a very high initative average are just the thing that noble non i5/i6 ships need the community to be vigilant about.
Complaining on the internet has historically proven to be the best use of energy in x wing, I can't advise any other path here

Ships - who designed what?

The devs have said before on stream that generally the head designer on a ship/wave is whoever's name appears first. Man i am way to lazy to dig up the stream but it was sometime after wave 8 of 1.0. Obviously some waves have only one designer credited which makes life a lot easier for what you're doing.
