Rather than having Yoda killed he dies of old age, alone. Yoda saw the turning as it happened and so moved from Dagobah and is elsewhere when he dies. Darth Vader and Luke find his robe and staff...

Or ... that. I like this image, Its way better than an orbital bombing.

Even if I love orbital bombing ... with nukes and stuff. 😉

  2. Here is what I could plan for such a campaign.
On Bespin, Han died during the carbon freezing test proving that the procedure is not secure. So Vader opts for a more direct approach from Luke and the duel didn’t end in the industrial part of the Cloud City; one-handed Luke is not able to escape (by falling into a chasm). Vader eventually captures Luke. Luke, Leia, Chewbacca and C-3PO are transported to the Executor and moved on Coruscant. Lando and R2-D2 stay in the Cloud City with the Falcon. Boba Fett goes to Tatooine with Han Solo.

    • On Coruscant, Vader and the Emperor turn Luke to the dark side of the Force. Then, Luke becomes an Inquisitor chasing Rebels in the Galaxy.
    • Vader tortures Leia (to death?) to make her reveals the secrets of the Rebel Alliance (she holds up and reveals nothing?).
    • Chewbacca is deported as a slave to the construction site of the new Death Star.
    • Darth Vader rebuilt C-3PO and makes him his personal (and unwilling?) assistant.
    • Since Luke knew several hiding places of the Rebel Alliance, many rebel leaders are arrested or killed (Rieekan, Mon Mothma, Akbar….).
    • Yoda is killed on Dagobah, now it is ghost-Yoda.
    • On Bespin, Lando Calrissian gnawed by the remorse start his own resistance movement.

Some milestones for the campaign could be:

    • Battle of Hoth: the characters are rebels on the Echo base (see the Adventure idea #8 Marooned on Hoth in the Star Wars d6 Core Rulebook page 119). After escaping Hoth with a stolen Imperial ship with a limited amount of fuel, PCs can only reach Anoat (There’s not much there) or Bespin. The PCs meet Lando who possibly became an ally and a rebel leader. At this point, players realize that the continuation of the campaign will not match with the movies: they are in Terra Incognita.
    • Lando gives/lends the Falcon to the PCs. R2-D2 possibly join the group.
    • Freeing prominent figures of the Rebel Alliance (from the Empire, from Jabba the Hutt, from anybody you want).
    • After several adventures, PCs (especially the one who is sensitive to the Force) are contacted by ghost-Yoda and/or ghost-Kenobi. They provide(s) a serious Jedi training to the character(s). Eventually, ghost-Yoda/Kenobi reveals the truth about the Emperor, Vader, Luke and Leia. The two masters can be used to “manipulate” the PCs, to bring them to Luke/Vader/Palpatine in time with proper training to maximize chances of success.
    • The attack of the Death Star II (with the help of a slave named Chewbacca).
    • More adventures.
    • The Inquisitor Luke is the main nemesis for this campaign; he is the one who hunts the rebels (and the PCs) across the Galaxy. He is a killable character (powerful but killable). A sub-climax of this campaign could be an epic duel with Luke and several henchmen.
    • A final confrontation with Vader and the Emperor; letting Vader know that Leia was his daughter can be a serious revelation to him (especially after he tortured/killed her at the beginning of the campaign).

    The End.

    Here's an example:

My hypothetical character has FR 3 and has purchased all of the Battle Meditation tree. I want to add successes to my two companions to make the upcoming fight easier. On my turn, I roll my force dice and get 4 light side side pips on my 3 dice. Since I have the entire Battle Meditation tree, I spend 1 pip on Magnitude to cover my 2 friends (and up to 3 more characters if I had that many friends). I spend a second pip to increase the ability's range from engaged to long. I spend the third pip to add a single success to the affected party members (activating the basic power). I have one pip left, but not a ton to use it on in this circumstance. I could extend range further, if necessary, or, if I had more companions, I could choose to buff them as well.

If I assume your Presence score is at least 2, with four light side pips, the entire BM talent tree and two other PCs; I would have said:

    • First (basic power): you may spend one pip to add one automatic success to all checks made by a number of engaged friendly targets up to his Presence (so two other PCs) before the end of your next turn.
    • Second (range 3): Spend one pip to increase Battle Meditation to long range.
    • Third: with two pips left, you can spend two pips to add one additional automatic success to affected characters checks (strength) or affect 16 other characters (Presence 2 per Magnitude 4 per 2 pips).

Also, don't forget the uses of Control and Mastery upgrades.

  6. ...Right click on the picture...

... Searching the net through Google image....

… Identification of the characters on the last frame: Caleb Swany and Mézoké Izzua…

Those pictures comes from a french comics called “Orbital”. The pitch is: in the future (late 23rd century), the Earth is contacted and included in a vast alien confederacy. Orbital presents the adventures of a pair of agents from the Interworld Diplomatic Office.

    True !

In Star Wars, a good score in Deception or Charm* can be as useful (more useful?) as  a good score in Piloting or Ranged [Light].

    * Skulduggery, Negotiation, Knowledge (underworld) etc.

  8. On another way, don’t forget the Empire is an awful dictatorship with legion of corrupted bureaucrats.
If you came to the BoSS with a ship known for multiple acts of piracy, you could be arrested and detained as a pirate yourself. May be the bureaucrat was simply corrupted and want to get a bounty, maybe he was genuinely believes that anyone had affairs with pirates (and especially those who are able to defeat them) are members of the underworld and must be neutralized by the Empire.
As admiral Piett said: "Bounty hunters, we don't need their scum!". You can replace "Bounty hunters" with "Sumgglers", "Tramp freighters captains", any kind of "poor guys"....
This can came with a Disaster.

I think the work is awesome, but I do have to ask how do we go from the containers mounted sideways on the ship to laying flat on the ground for unloading?

The starport may be equipped with tractor beams to handle the containers?

The ship is equipped with a tractor beam to handle the containers?

The containers themselves are equipped with repulsor units, allowing the containers to perform limited maneuvers on a starport?

Speaking of Solo what the heck is that weapon Enfys Nest uses, she even parried blaster shots.

According to the Pablo Hidalgo’s Visual Guide, Enfys Nest’s armor is equipped with a foldable shield on her left forearm. It’s a kind of metallic warfan used to deflect even blaster bolts.

However, I am quite interested as you are with her melee weapon. Wookieepedia mentions the “electroripper staff”, I have the French edition of the Visual Guide who references the électrohallebarde (electro halberd, electro glaive?).

Special rules for a short range and directed Blast effect ?

  11. Crit. are interesting of course, but doubling the inflicted damages with two advantages is far more dangerous. With a basic double-bladed lightsaber, you can inflict a minimum of 14 points of damage in a single attack: which neutralizes most characters or, at least, causes a massive amount of Wounds in a single strike while you still have the chance to roll a crit. at the bottom of the table.

And about the costs, maybe double-bladed lightsabers are most expensive to upgrade, but it’s just a logistic argument, it worth the expense. Plus, the lightsaber is the main source of expense for a Jedi or a Sith.

  12. Why using a single-bladed lightsaber then you can double your damages using a double-bladed lightsaber and two advantages?

Of course, the Unwieldy 3 quality limits the use of that weapon for characters with 3 in Agility, but is iy balances the Linked 1 quality? With that official rule, most lightsaber fighters should have the objective to get a double-bladed lightsaber to improve their efficiency in combat.

I propose the following house rule: the Linked 1 induced extra damages can only be inflicted to a secondary target. This can explain why Darth Maul uses a single blade in his first duel against Qui-Gon Jinn on Tatooine and why he uses two blades against Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo. Therefore, the double-bladed lightsaber remains advantageous as a weapon allowing the face efficiently two opponents but is not overwhelming against a single target.

  13. If you want a location automatically defended by turrets against vehicles, you can imagine CIWS-like turrets (fun fact: the USN Phalanx CIWS is nicknamed R2-D2).

n Anti-Vehicular Automated Turret: SIL 2 • SPD none • HDL none. Armor: 1. Thresholds: HT 4 • SS 2. Sensor range: Close. Ship’s complement: droid brain.

Weapons: turret-mounted auto-blaster (Fire Arc All; Damage 3; Critical 5; Range [Close]; Auto-fire).

For retractable defense turrets that can be found indoor, lighter weapons can be used for obvious encumbrance reasons .

    n Retractable Light Turret [rival]: BR 3; AGI 0, Ranged (Light); INT 0; CUN 2, Perception 2; WIL 1, Vigilance 2; PRE 0. Soak: 5; Wounds: 13.

Abilities: Silhouette 0. Droid: does not need to breathe, eat, or drink and can survive in vacuum or underwater. Immune to poisons and toxins.

    Equipment: laminate armor (+2 soak).

§  Twin heavy blaster (Ranged [Light]; Damage 7; Critical 3; Range [Medium]; Linked 1, Stun setting).

  14. In d20-based games, swarms automatically cause damage as long as they occupy the same space as the target. Would it be fair to do the same in EotE/AoR? Beyond that, I think there should be some sort of limitation regarding causing damage to them, especially if you're trying to blast away at them while they're swarming over an ally.

    -Nate

Beyond the Rim pg 44. Applied to a Rival level stat block.

Special ability:Swarm (halve damage dealt to the swarm before applying soak unless the weapon has the blast or burn quality [regardless of if the quality is activated])

    Thanks !
