  1. So to celebrate the event I decided to do some repaints. This meant trying to match the list I'm going to use. So a rookie X-wing, a blue squad B-wing, a gold squad Y-wing and Wedge Antilles in his Red 2. To be honest the rookie ended up as Luke Skywalker's Red five, but hey he was a rookie once. The Y-wing I posted about a couple of weeks ago but I wasn't quite happy with it. After some bit of extra work it now matches my expectations better.

    Ica repaints

I wouldnt have dared do sponge chipping on a model this small but you show that it is indeed possible. Good job! I myself is in the process of painting Luke's red five, maybe we can compare when I'm finished?
  3. Of course it's better when you roll two focuses. You know what would be even better? Rolling nothing but evades all the time. Alas Murphy watches over us all, sneaky git that he is. The above chart is obviously only based on statistical chances. The dice (and Murphy) never agree on that though.
  4. I think the math goes like this. Without focus you have a 3/8 chance on a single dice to get an evade. With focus that rises to 5/8. Since an evade token counts as having automatically rolled a succeful evade we can call the 'chance' to get one 8/8. This helps the coming math. So if I'm not completely out of mind that should give us the following stats: 1 die without mods - 3/8 evade rolled 1 die with focus - 5/8 evade rolled 1 die with evade - 11/8 or rather 1 and 3/8 evade rolled 2 die without mods - 6/8 evade rolled 2 die with focus - 10/8 or rather 1 and 2/8 evade rolled 2 die with evade - 14/8 or rather 1 and 6/8 evade rolled 3 die without mods - 9/8 or rather 1 and 1/8 evade rolled 3 die with focus - 15/8 or rather 1 and 7/8 evade rolled 3 die with evade - 17/8 or rather 2 and 1/8 evade rolled 4 die without mods - 12/8 or rather 1 and 4/8 evade rolled 4 die with focus - 20/8 or rather 2 and 4/8 evade rolled 4 die with evade - 20/8 or rather 2 and 4/8 evade rolled 5 die without mods - 15/8 or rather 1 and 4/8 evade rolled 5 die with focus - 25/8 or rather 3 and 1/8 evade rolled 5 die with evade - 23/8 or rather 2 and 7/8 evade rolled I really hope I'm right with this but if I am, it means that when rolling anything below 4 evade dice you are better off having an evade token.
  5. Muz: Thanks for your generous offer but I think I can survive Oneway: That is the actual astromech unit. While the factory paintjob is good for a prepaint it does obscure and hide some details. I myself was astonished to find an ion cannon turret on the roof of the cockpit after I stripped the paint. Of course, it was there before but it just never popped out due to the paintjob.
  6. Your other B-Wings seems better/cleaner painted though your idea with the animal/shark mouth is not bad att all. Maybe I should steal it for my own B-Wings?
  7. Well it seems you guys are more positive than I am, though the creator of something is often the person to be most critical of it. I do agree with you Joostuh that some more color on the back end could be needed and my original idea was to have engine glow but I ran into a problem. From what I can gather, the exact point where the engine exhaust comes from is not quite as established as I would have liked. Some pictures show it quite far back, some almost in the middle and others almost at the root of the engine. Problematic to say the least.
  8. I've already used washes like those to give the model shade, any more and it would probably look odd. Though it just might be my preferences for painting that is the problem. I'm far more used to painting bigger things like 40k models.
  9. Rookie pilot here, trying to show off my repainted Y-wing. Not quite happy with the end result but let's hear what you think. More pics can be found on my blog.
