Imperial ship paint jobs are about purity! not the mess of those rebel mongrels.
There might be some truth to that. Still doesn't make it any less boring to paint.

Dude. Baller.
According to the Urban Dictionary baller means:
Baller: n. (sometimes pronounced as balla) balling:v. (sometimes pronounced as ballin'): One who retains a questionable amount of wealth and is thoroughly comfortable flaunting it. The form of wealth commonly recognized is cash, although it can be lucratively displayed in other forms such as brand name cars, pricey watches, and women with greater scale of beauty than the "baller" him/herself. A baller may or may not produce wealth illegally. It is common that a more serious and dominative attitude is evident amongst this person. Usually this type of persona is taken on to compensate for a lack of confidence or a void that is unknown and developed during childhood.Oh man he's so ballin'! Can I get that baller's number? Are you sure that's the right way to use it?
Anyway the paint guide is now up.

Copied and pasted from me blog ('cause I'm a lazy bastard).
Took a while but here is the finished product. In a day or so I'll probably have the paint guide posted as well.
Not a bad attempt, considering this is the first time I build something like this. I have to say that I found it harder to build the Gamma than my previous scratch builds. First of all, I felt very restricted due to the ship actually existing beforehand instead of just being a vague figment of my imagination. In my own mind I can change what I'm building without any restrictions. Also, the fact that there were several versions of it and that no source gave all the details I needed, hindered me severely.
As for the paintjob it is quite boring. Imperial ships usually lack all the nice grime, rust, scratches and individual marking that characterise Rebel ships, and that leads to a clean, shiny, and utterly boring model. Which happens to be the reason that I haven't re-painted more Imperial ships. Onwards to the next project! -
Yes it's supposed to be shuttle, not transport. Screwed that up apparently, which means the ArueBesh I wrote on the side of it is wrong as well. Oh well, **** happens I suppose. I'm not completely happy with the paintjob though. On a technical level there is nothing wrong with it, but Imperial ships are clean and boring and that translates to a boring paintjob.

Stop looking at the top peeps. New pictures down below!

Now normally I would have waited until I had proper pictures of it, but screw it, you guys deserve a sneakpeek. Enjoy until I have time to take better photos.

God damnit, now I'm gonna have spam on me brain all night. I'm probably going to have spamfilled nightmares! And tomorrow I'll start spamming the forum. And maybe even start eating spam. Spam, spam, spam!

Now, now, no need to be overly insulting, it tends to go downhill very fast from there.

You know, if you post pics of your repaint I would like not to be sent directly to ebay. That's a shamless plug of the truly shamless kind. Besides the paintjob isn't terribly special, especially not for what you are charging.

This pretty much summarize my own experience with Echo. I'd still say that VI has a place but outmanouver is a very strong contender.
-
Not this again. Snowspeeders are strictly low flying atmospheric craft and therefore does NOT fit into this game, seeing as it is exclusively played in SPACE.
-
To be honest, most of those repaints were not terribly noteworty. A better place for inspiration would be this http://hobbybeforeidie.blogspot.se/2014/06/x-wing-ultimate-hobby-showcase.html

Please don't feed the trolls people, they are always hungry for attention.

You think Star Wars has strange license deals? People I give you the Lord of the Rings. Apparently it is possible to have the license for the movies but not the books, and vice versa. For instance, if you are making a LoTR video game when you have the movie license, you can't use the likeness of the characters from the books. I don't know about you guys but I really thought 'WTF?' when I first heard of this.
-
But of course! However that will be published as a different topic. BTW anyone with a good suggestion on what I should build next?
-
When you are pouring the second part of the mould, you paint the joining face of the first part with Vaseline to stop the silicon joining together. Nothing kinky I'm afraid, unless you are casting something kinky...
Dang it, now you have ruined my pre-conceived notions of vaseline.

BTW here is the final update of the build. It is lightly sprayed with black to make it easier for me to see any flaws though on the photos it can be harder to see details so I edited them slightly to be brighter. As for making a mould, I probably have to hold off on that. Unless a fair amount of people want to buy this model, it's just too expensive to consider (at least it is here in Sweden).

-
I used this for my first forays into two part moulds. Just add some modelling clay, and a tub of Vaseline, and you're good to go.

Oh, that almost sounds kinky.

The most natural Phantom hunter I've encountered is Han Solo in his Falcon. He doesn't even need to be upgraded, he just blasts Phantoms put of space with frightening ease.
-
I live in Sweden but I'm certainly no stranger to buying from the UK. Some things are a good deal cheaper when buying from the isles and 45 quid sounds fairly good. Do you have a link you could share?
-
Not the final update on the build but it's getting close. There's really only minor details, the engines and the guns to add and the cannons are actually finished, just not mounted yet. If I don't go out and buy some bigger plastic tubing I won't be able to finish the engines. I'm debating on whether or not to add the satellite dishes that can be seen on some versions of the ship as I believe they would just be fragile and break all the time.

Well you should already know my current side-project, http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/110168-scratchbuild-guess-the-model/ which I just updated. *Shameless plug*

I'm currently looking into how to make a mould and where I can get the materials needed. BTW I choose this particular model BECAUSE it was a brick. Easier to build.
In any case, here is today's update. The underside is almost complete now.
-
Making a mould would require me to learn quite a number of things seeing as I've never done it before. I do like a challenge though and I'm not afraid to learn new stuff. Who knows, it might be fun.

I rode the first iteration of the Star Tours in Disney Land Paris way back in 1995. It was so damned cool!

What should I scratch build next?

Yes, as the title says, help me decide what I should build. I want do build another large ship like the Gamma shuttle I recently finished. http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/111629-paintjob-scratchbuilt-gamma-class-assault-transport/
I'm currently leaning towards a Delta-class JV-7 Escort shuttle but the Star Wars universe is big and I probably don't know even a fourth of all the ships that exist.
And the first person to suggest a Star Destroyer or something equally big, gets a nuclear boot to the head.
