  1. BenderIsGreat: Looks a bit like a pimped out Speeder bike from episode 6. Also, is that a small Snowspeeder on the 'wing'?
  2. It's about 15cm long while a Falcon is about 13cm. It is not as wide however and I suspect that the overall volume of a Falcon is greater. I don't do stats, I keep myself occupied building and painting. Also, since this was a commission, I don't get to keep it.
  3. The episode VII Millenium Falcon. Now that is a scratchbuild I would have liked to taken part off!
  4. That is one ugly ship! On the other hand, its boxy shape should make it a bit easier to build, just like you're assuming.
  5. I did do a progress report of the build earlier but I wasn't didn't go into that kind of depth. However, I'm currently publishing a series of post on my blog that deals with scratchbuilding though what you are asking for won't be included until the third and final part. I'm sickening you? I must have done something right then! The second part of the tutorial is up so you might want to check it out. http://alternativewargamer.blogspot.se/2014/09/scratchbuilding-tutorial-part-2.html What are you looking to scratchbuild? I might be able to give you some pointers to give you a good start. The ship is a commission so that won't be possible. Unless of course you are prepared to pay more than the commissioner.
  6. That is probably amongst the highest praise I can receive. Of course, since I'm unable to show or feel any humility I just feed those comments directly into my ego and take it as proof of how awesome I am. I have actually looked into mould making and it is a bit more expensive than I feel comfortable with. If I could get a big enough customer base it would be feasible but then I would also have to avoid Disney's lawyers, the true dark side of the universe. If we get the community to make some unofficial but balanced pilots and upgrades for this, I'd buy it Feel free to come up with rules but do bear in mind that this ship is probably overpowered. It would need to be nerfed quite badly to achieve any sense of balance.
  7. I have finished painting my scratchbuilt AEG. Enjoy!
  8. Super Wedge (thats what we call that particular combo at my club) is indeed nasty but is fairly wasted on low agility ships. Also, since an X-wing isn't quite manouverable enough to take full advantage of the upgrade, Super Wedge can, ironically, be outmanouvered to avoid that the card triggers.
  9. Any corporate ships could easily be slotted into one of the existing factions. Heck, I'm pretty sure most corporations would fall under S&V. Just look at Games Workshop!
  10. In universe torpedoes are supposed to be more powerful than missiles though I don't know how significant the difference is. In the digital side side of Star Wars this has usually been true but with the addition that missiles track and turn better than torps. In this game however there is not much difference in destructive power. Missiles tend to see more use as they are usually easier to use and are more worth their points.
  11. Oh a thread where we can legally brag about everything we've done? Sounds good to me!
  12. Last update for this build but an important one. Guns baby! Four turrets should suffice, right? BTW that strip of plasticard in the first picture is just 1mm wide. Tiny, tiny guns!
  13. HOLY COW...of all the pictures of the VIgo you went and found a picture of MY ship from SWG. Seriously? That's more than a little cool. I guess there's a story behind that akward landing angle?
  14. It's only undersized if you let it be so. Basically, there is no spoon.
  15. Dats zoggin' bootiful! Uhm sorry, my inner Ork couldn't contain myself.
  16. El finito! Actually, there is some clean up and the weapons left but the main ship is finished! The first pic shows the detail of what would become the back of each wing. When that was complete I just glued the wings in place. Third pic show the prongs, both sides. Fourth and fifth show the details added to the nose and the last one need no explanation. The prongs are actually not glued into place yet, instead they are held in place with blue tac.
  17. I'm pretty sure that two of the turrets are on the underside. As for the cannons and the red circle, I have no idea.
  18. The bridge/cockpit and the upper engines has been glued into place. Also added a lot of detail to the front. The upper engines should be cone shaped but that is *bleeping* hard to get right. Hopefully what I've come up with will suffice.
  19. Thank you. It does seem like a Decimator doesnt have a landing gear. Good to know.
  20. ... could one of you please take a picture from underneath the beast? I wish to see the detail, specifically how they solved the landing gear, if it even have a landing gear. Digital cookie to the first one to upload a good picture.
  21. Steelhelix: While the ship is cool, I just can't find it in myself to picture it in Star Wars. It doesn't quite have that mismatched industrial sci-fi look.
  22. When I play a casual/friendly game, time tends to drag out. When playing in a tournament however, I'm focused and try to make every move and action as fast and efficient as possible. I guess I have two different mindsets that I effortlessly switch between.
  23. Lower engine assembly is finished and glued into place. I've also spent time doing a lot of panel lines on just about every part of the ship. Better to do it now, before I glue all sub-assemblies in place.
  24. I thought the same. Those models looks as smooth as a conventional cast miniature. Or something I would have scratch built.
  25. No worries mate. The 'haters' are just a grumpy guy with too much time on his hands and a habit of using too many emoticons.
