  1. GW has truly effed up badly the last decade or so. Interestingly this time period roughly coincides with Tom Kirby being the CEO of the company...
  2. There are a few people on shapeways who sell a 3D printed version of the Senator's shuttle. Like this one: http://www.shapeways.com/model/886228/senate-starship.html
  3. The problem with board control is that it usually isn't deadly enough, at least not in a tournament environment. Funny as hell to play with but takes too long to achieve victory.
  4. As Bipolar Potter mention above, you will have trouble getting TL with your ships due to the low PS of your pilots. Something that could alleviate that problem is if you can manage to squeeze in Dutch Vander into your list.
  5. I suspect the problem with using both in the same list is that both are quite expensive, especially Corran when he has been upgraded with the tools he need to be truly effective. That just doesn't leave you with much points left to include anything worthwhile. On top of that, both the E-wing and X-wing are somewhat fragile.
  6. The topic has been discussed before and if I remember correctly it all comes down to PS. With ACD you really want to be able cloak before someone shoots back, and since the highest PS a Phantom can have is 9, Whisper becomes the better choice.
  7. I suppose my story started somewhere around when GW released a set of five metal Vampire knights (Think they were called Blood knights). Not only were they rather hideously designed, they also cost almost the same as a Baneblade tank. Around the same time they released plastic Empire Greatswords that only contained 10 models yet cost far more than the equivalent amount of older metal models. I decided to boycott GW as much as possible while still continuing to play. To that end I started up an Imperial Guard army using only German World War 2 tanks, vehicles and troops. Worked out great and far cheaper to boot. Of course with 7th edition I've lost almost all interest in the game. No one expected they would release a new set of rules so quickly and worse, they didn't even fix the most glaring issues with the rules.
  8. DreadStar: That's a Warmonger Titan for Epic 40k. Quite a different scale than apocalypse.
  9. I second TUZ' opinion. Well done and welcome to the forum!
  10. I like putting wingman on Cracken as it makes him dedicated to buffing others and since he pilots a Z-95 he tends to get overlooked for all the other ships/threats in the same list. He does work best in lists with four or more ships as that makes easier to stay in range of someone who can utilise his buffs. Decoy I certainly see the use for but I myself haven't tried it out. To give an example, Wedge is freaking amazing but his ability is often hampered by the fact that the enemy has focus and/or evade. By switching PS you could potentially make him shoot later and thus make his ability more effective.
  11. Now why didn't I think of that? Oh well, it's fixed now.
  12. Stegocent suggested I should post some more of my stuff here. Don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.
  13. I'm not sure I dare show you my workplace. Even when it's cleaned it looks like a mess and in the aftermath of one of my scratchbuilds it often looks like world war 3, the apocalypse and an Irish stag party has visited me simultaneously.
  14. This is actually the second commission to re-paint Kath Scarlet's ship I've recieved and I doubt it will be the last. In any case, enjoy!

    "Turtling Up"

Turtling up or similar phrases, basically means to maximize defense/defensive capabilities. I first encountered the term in fighting games, like Street Fighter, where it means sitting in a corner and pressing down and back, just waiting for the opponent to come to you.
  16. You guys are blaming the wrong source. It's not the dice that are the problem but rather Murphy who influence the outcome. If I ever get the divine chance to meet Murphy I'm going to kick Him in the nads as hard as I can. Though seeing as it's Murphy I will probably roll a real life critical failure and miss the slippery bastard.
  17. Sorry, but I can't hold it back any longer. Its not called a reboot, it's called getting a new edition. There, I've said it. It's out of my system and we can now return to normal.
  18. Exactly! Though as you mention, Tycho might be REALLY nasty with that combo.
  19. Now isn't this ironic, the ship has become background noise, while the real star seems to be the cutting machine. On a more serious note, I can certainly see myself using a Silhouette Portrait. The problem for me will be getting it at a reasonable cost. My dear sweet home is located in Sweden and a machine like that will set me back the equivalent of about 320$.
  20. Now you've really got my attention. That Silhouette Portrait machine seems like something I would like myself. Could you perhaps describe more in detail how it works?
  21. Nicely done! The airbrushing is subtle and yet very well executed. It looks elegant and almost majestic.
  22. I love to overthink and overanalyze stuff and hence why I liked and linked to the page above. However I never take it seriously and I don't think the writer of the article did either. It is just a bit of light hearted fun.
  23. Parts of that statement is far more accurate than you might think.
  24. If I'm not the first to post this then I apologize. If not, well just read the link. https://medium.com/starts-with-a-bang/the-physics-of-the-death-star-c21ccc58ade9
