If only that last bit with the thrown female underwear had been true. I'm seriously laughing my ass off here. -

And now, for the moment you have all waited for... The Arquitens-class light cruiser! Now I'll be the first to admit that the quality of these pictures are not up to my usual standard but the size makes things difficult. The paint job itself isn't really anything special, the ship has specifically been painted to look similar to the Raider and Gozanti. Other than that it is supposed to represent a ship that has seen a decent amount of service patrolling the space lanes but haven't been involved in much action. -
Welcome to the forums. First, a piece of advice. Please reduce the size of your pictures. At 5-6 megs a piece they are ridiculously large and take quite some effort for many connections to load. My tablet managed to load one and then just gave up and even my stationary computer (with a 100 mbits connection) needed about a second for each picture to load.

The only proper name for TIE/FO is Foo fighter.

I don't think you are far off though 28 seem a bit too cheap, my guess would be 29 or even 30.

Oh you bloody bastard! Stuff like that you should keep to yourself.

Your work, especially the Weird WW2 stuff, was a big inspiration for me when I started up my own Wehrmacht Imperial Guard army for 40k a couple of years back. I seriously don't know how I haven't made the connection earlier! Anyway, keep up the good work!

I've faced the stresshog a few times and while a serious threat, I don't see it as OP. However, when building a tournament list, you MUST consider what would happen if you run into a stresshog. My answer is generally to build lists that really don't care about stress.

Yeah, I agree completely with Fickle, the generics are not terribly good but the named ones have powerful abilities that makes them worthwhile.

Wow, that's bloody impressive work (though the site didn't work with Firefox. Strange...)! And if you are claiming my stuff to be industry standard, well I'm going to take that as truth and a huge compliment! Take note however, my ego might get so big it becomes explosive! -
I'm not sure if everyone forgets the candy stripes. Speaking from my own experience, candy stripes can be rather tedious to get right so for my Luke X-wing I just didn't bother. Still, it's always nice to see those who makes the effort.

In its current incarnation it will likely never be cast, though if I ever build another one again we might be talking. The painting process has begun though I've never painted something this big before. I'm really grateful for my airbrush right now, though I'm afraid I'll run out of paint before I even have the basecoat in place! -

Fully assembled on stands, and the inevitable comparison with other epic ships. It's a big ship! -

And here is the last update for the build. I find it highly amusing and fitting that I reach 1000 posts on this forum as of this post. In any case I first sprayed the ship lightly with some black paint. This makes it easier to spot imperfections and leftover glue and putty residue. After that I reached the greebling stage. Lotsa greebles! -

Because kids are morons with no taste. I know I used to be one. Lol oh come on, you must have had He-man or GIJoe or some transformers Don't you be dissing transformers! (Feel free to diss He-man and GI Joe as much as you like) -
Not a single one. I might pick up the Gozanti and I sure want some of the cards and upgrades that comes with the others but so far I've managed to resist the temptation.

Had quite a lot of time on my hands today so I managed to finish all four turrets. I also added the docking ports. -

Oh yes, I placed third in a regional tournament last year, so he helped me out a lot. Now I don't really have a tutorial per se, but I did describe the basics on my blog when I repainted my first B-wing, in fact it was one of the first repaints I did. I hope it helps. The build is a commission so it's quite frankly not my problem. However it would have to be a rather special piece of card as the ship needs three stands in a triangular formation. -

Continued on the bridge. -
So how are we getting the rest of 'Rebels' stuff in the game?
MacrossVF1 replied to xanderf's topic in X-Wing
The Pelta is around 280m long so it's too big for epic. The Arquitens is a bit smaller, somewhere around 200-250m long (my best guesstimate is 235m), so it's also unlikely to show up as an epic ship. -
Now we only need someone to actually paint a Punisher like that. And don't look at me, mine is already repainted!

The Concise/Collected Repaints Thread. Keep Them All Here, Keep Em Visible.
MacrossVF1 replied to Gadge's topic in X-Wing
Normal TIE fighters do not need to have the wings removed, though it does help a bit. On any of the ships where the wings are curved inward, eg Advanced, Bomber, Interceptor, Punisher, it's a lot easier to paint them if the wings are removed. -

Dude! Phenomenal work as always. I absolutely love the step-by-step progress photos you always do. DON'T STOP!! But I have one question: Why hasn't FFG given you a model making contract yet? Man, are they missing an opportunity here, or what?! Of course they are missing out! I mean, who wouldn't want me on their modelling staff? No comparisons yet, though that will come later. I intend to do a proper comparison with all the epic ships when the Arquitens is finished. A tutorial of sorts will be uploaded to my blog in a few weeks time though it will not be an actual tutorial. Instead I'll upload all the pictures already featured here and I'll explain some of my thoughts during the build process. --- Anyway, I didn't have time to post anything yesterday as I was busy playing X-wing! Gotta prioritise some fun and games from time to time. The ship is nearing completion, and I should probably be finished with it this weekend. -
Many people seem stuck on the idea that the Firespray isn't good enough but I just don't get them. While perhaps not uber top-tier, it's a good and reliable ship that can do just about everything.
