  1. Exactly what I needed! No wonder I got such a good deal on that used set -- it's 19 tiles short of a set. Oh well, at least I got a full set of painted miniatures for a decent price and some spare tiles and cards just in case. Thanks again, much appreciated.
  2. Recently I got a used second core set with painted miniatures and combined the map tiles into a single box. It was an ill-considered decision so today I decided to separate them. Unfortunately, the two piles don't create 59-tile sets (as stated in Learn to Play Guide) as I expected. I can't locate a breakdown of the tiles by number and quantity so I can cannibalize those from my spare set. Can someone help me out?

AS allows some pseudo phantom shenanigans which can be pretty interesting
  4. IMO, these are the best painted IA models I've seen. Extremely clean and detailed, especially the faces. Well done sir, I salute your skill!
  5. If you haven't tried the Hunger Games scenario, that's quite a bit of fun also.
  6. Personally, I'd rather change the format for activation. Rather than activating ships in ascending order of PS, I'd like to see opponents alternate activation of ships without regard to pilot skill. Doing so adds a new dynamic for blocking, bombing and target locks. If you haven't tried it before, do it for fun as it changes your strategy paradigms.
  7. Just a random observation.... If the mechanics defined in the UR were used to replace the text listed for the Blaster Turret, I'd be ecstatic. Imagine a Moldy Crow 3-dice attack that doesn't require you to USE the focus token to fire it but instead to modify the attack roll.
  8. IMO, the costs of travel, food, lodging and prize support is irrelevant. All players who participated voluntarily chose to attend and spend their time and money for the event (without the guarantee of making the cut). Although it appears FFG chose to privately compensate the affected player, cheating did occur. What happens when that behavior is observed is the issue (especially at a Worlds Championship event).
  9. For me, the appeal of a 2.0 edition is related to rules interactions and modifying dials, pilots or upgrades. Include well-designed campaign missions with objectives and I'd be happy to invest in it.
  10. At some point, the introduction of new ships will cease. Why not consider revamping the existing rules (keeping existing ships) and getting a fresh take on the game? Seems reasonable provided FFG doesn't require a complete new investment to replace our existing collection.
  11. All of the epic ships look great and the C-ROC looks phenomenal. Hopefully the M-3A upgrades will make them show on the tables more also.
  12. Tons of great Xbox One games and don't forget that many Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible. I tend to buy games after they've been out on the market for awhile, since most games aren't worth the $60 price tag ALL are assigned at launch. If you're into RPGs Witcher 3 and Skyrim are solid choices. If you like open world games I'd recommend Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360 game that's backwards compatible). I like narrative-based games like Shadows of Mordor, Alien Isolation, Dead Space and Tomb Raider.
  13. And it's people like you that have made these forums the cesspool it currently is
  14. Threads like this make me glad I stopped playing competitively months ago.

    the rant meta

With the ever increasing popularity of X-Wing and influx of new players comes the inclusion of a more hyper-competitive mentality at the FLGS. Forget the Store Championships, Regionals, Nationals, Worlds and other tournaments....I'm talking about casual or league X-Wing play at the FLGS. A few years ago it wasn't uncommon for a new player to show up with a core set excited to learn and play with their Star Wars ships...that rarely happens anymore. Walk into a FLGS today with X-Wing play ongoing and it's likely you'll see strictly meta lists on the tables and players preparing for the next tournament. With the ever-increasing volume of ships, pilots and upgrades available in the game it's a shame to see how few are actually being fielded at the FLGS at any given time.
