  1. willange, you are looking at it the wrong way!  newer things are on the correct powercurve, where the older stuff was WAAAAY overcosted.  Lets just compare the at-dp to a set of elite stormtroopers for a moment (elite stormtroopers are a solid baseline overall).  Both can put out roughly the same amount of damage, and they have similar health.  They both offer different things though.  Some units were just poorly costed to begin with and I wish we could see a change on them, but I like where things are going.  Nothing in HotE seems stronger (or necessarily weaker) than jabba's realm, which I think is a good thing.

  2. I like the jabba's realm campaign, and if you are looking for good skirmish models, that is the one to go for.  Hoth is a fun campaign that is slightly rebel favored but still a blast regardless.  Heart of the empire just came out which looks sweet but I can't attest to the campaign as I haven't played it, but it also brings fixes for some core box characters for skirmish.

  3. Actually, force jump is better than jump jets, and I can give you an example on a tournament legal map too!  Since force jump gives you mobile for the duration of the move, you can go across the intersection of solid red line squares and black walls, but you can't count spaces through that intersection for jump jets.  So that middle hallway on obi-wans map has that red square cady corner to the black wall, you could go further through that, than you could counting spaces with jump jets.

Also, jump jets is only for small figures,  there might at some point be a large force user who wouldn't be able to use jump jets.

  4. I disagree with your opinion on Face-to-Face.  I think it is a very solid card.  It allows you to do another action in addition to moving two spaces.  It allowed me to remove stun and still attack this weekend.  I believe that force jump is also a little bit better than you give it credit for.  For 4 speed characters like obi and darth and luke, that extra move and the ability to go over units and terrain can make a huge difference. Droid mastery can put some unexpected damage onto a figure that would have been just at the threshold of death, or it can respawn jax.  for a 0 point card, I love it!  Dual bladed fury is great as well.  You know that maul will get atleast one activation and getting reach focused cleave 2 is nothing to sneeze at!

I am playing Armoured Onslaught, and other than Mortar, I am struggling to see a lot of value in the rest of the deck.  Heavy Firepower for 2 XP seems particularly ungenerous.  If it was "during an attack" rather than "when declaring" it might be worth it. Reactive Armour also seems stingy compared to the armour in Military Might.

Military Might has been my favourite class deck so far, although Inspiring Leadership could perhaps be the most fun when sneaky and clever plans work.

I really liked power to shields.  It neutered mak, shyla, and fenn in my campaign!  armored division lets jet troopers reroll their defense dice when next to each other, and reactive defenses goes well on them.  I had a blast (the rebels not so much) with that deck.

How come? Were people rushing her in ahead of everyone else and then she just gets focus fired upon by their whole list? Or does she not hit hard enough? I haven't gotten my copy of HotE in yet so haven't really tested her yet.

Vader two shot her (his normal attack and end of round attack) in both of the games they were in that I played.  I see her potential and she can be great, but as with all melee figures, she requires more thought to be good than your average ranged character.

  7. I played in a tournament today where I ran RGC, 2x eRiots, eJets, rOfficer, zillo, RBF.  Ended up taking first place, and I must say that my mvp was the e-riots.  they are tanky enough to not go down in a single hit and they can really lay the hurt down on to critical targets.  I was the only imperial, so no other HOTE stuff got really played.  Lots of chewie and solo.  1 maul and 2 ahsoka.  I've been super dissapointed by ahsoka.  I think that like the RGC she will require finesse and support.

  8. For me it is Flurry of Blades (RGC's card).  Yes it lets you do three attacks and it can be against the same target, but you can't move.  You already have to be in position to use it and you can duck back into cover.  Sure I've used it to 100-0 a full health ig-88, but I can't justify the card for 2 points (even though i took it for shiggles in RIT 3).
