I honestly want to run the Rangers with Fenn. Have the rangers get some shots off and let Fenn tear into anything that comes close!

2016 Star Wars: Imperial Assault Regional Prizes - Lando
MadFuhrer replied to nickv2002's topic in Imperial Assault Skirmish
From the tournaments in Arizona that I have been in, we are quite varied. I think I have seen every unit used at least once minus like... Mak. I admit I did go "kayne for Kayne" and played somos to get the alt art card. at a Thursday tournament I took IG-88 and snagged 2nd place. We always have one person who runs beast lists, but the bantha isn't THAT popular IMO. Seeing more trooper spy lists, or rebel force user lists. -
How to get Boba Fett back on our tables?
MadFuhrer replied to CorvusITA's topic in Imperial Assault Skirmish
It is funny that maximum firepower doesn't work on vehicles, only heavy weapons. Tis most unfortunate, but that does sound like fun. -
I love the RGC, he is one of my favorite units in both campaign and skirmish. He can be competitive in skirmish but takes some practice against several different types of lists to know when to fully commit him to the fray. In campaign he is expensive but also devestating, so that if you see you are going to get a big threat increase at some point, he can be worth it. His value does drop the more the rebels get their skills though, but his agenda set is worth it even if you don't play him.

when i ran the spec ops deck, I ALWAYS had ISBs in my opens. I'm currently running hoth with precision training, so I ALWAYS have snowtroopers. I like to have some amount of theme.

Kayn Somos and Advance Comms
MadFuhrer replied to SeerOzymandius's topic in Imperial Assault Skirmish
I use the officer mostly for somos and tend to run the heavies close to him to receive his focus. I like him over two elite officers as you get more damage per activation which can make a huge difference. The elite storms i tend to focus up first round and use them as effective 6 speed attackers. They become my primary objective takers, if i want to take objectives. the snowtroopers are there almost entirely for heals. Another reason I like somos is that he attacks with three dice, which again, is far better than officers, and he can be healed by the snows. -
Kayn Somos and Advance Comms
MadFuhrer replied to SeerOzymandius's topic in Imperial Assault Skirmish
I won 4 games in a row at my local shop against people that have played and placed in both regional and worlds tournaments. Kayn +coms 11 eHeavies +TC 9 Estorm +VF 11 rSnow 7 R officer 2 that was the list. won against 2 bantha lists, an HK+sorin list, and a mixed rebel group. -
Trying to fit a General's Ranks on a bantha and then unshakeable/zillo/and or rule by fear may be worth dropping 1-2 regular officers or one bantha and filling in with some other stuff Just remember that general's ranks don't work with the movement from regular officers, only elite ones.

So my friends and i were playing the new bespin campaign last night, and I ended up as the imperial player and i chose the new class deck. I took the card "stealth" ("melee attacks targeting you require 1 or more accuracy to not miss") along with "shadow armor" ("exhaust this card when an attack targeting an imperial figure is declared to apply -1 damage, -1 surge, or -2 accuracy to the results. at one point, I had a hidden royal guard with "stealth" attached and would declare shadow armor for -2 accuracy, and davith declared an attack. he would need 5 accuracy to hit my guard correct? That is how I read it anyway. WE were uncertain as to the interaction but I believe it was played correctly.

Any house rule suggestions on delays?
MadFuhrer replied to Minandreas's topic in Arkham Horror Second Edition
I also have some friends like yours who have to be doing something on their turn and become bored when their character basically has their moves dictated by the game (such as delayed or moving through the other world). The one thing I can not stress enough when playing with people is that this is a Co-op game. Get excited by the other players and their encounters and movements. take joy from the team accomplishing a goal together, otherwise it can be very dull. -

Put a Clue Token on this card?
MadFuhrer replied to JesterXIII's topic in Arkham Horror Second Edition
I like to personally use the eihort brood tokens since they give you so many of those **** things. -
You also have to remember that spells have a certain thing over your average weapon: they are magical, and since many monsters have physical resistance/immunity, sometimes that spell is going to come in super handy. Also they combat spells have some of the highest modifiers in the game for when you need to kill the super extra scary monster. Another note is that being driven insane is not the end of the world. You don't have to stay topped off in your healths to still be effective, and if you do go insane you spend two bucks and you keep chugging next round (since monster fights happen during movement and healing is during the encounter, its all during the same round).

Monsters are always dealt with in movement. Always. He is going to be stuck fighting there unless you can manage to flee it.

Potentially silly/dumb questions
MadFuhrer replied to Dr Mordrid's topic in Arkham Horror Second Edition
I like to think of it as the person who is LiTaS is unable to return home due to the cosmic forces that allowed the ancient one to awaken.... but that might just be me. -
oh my poor poor sacrifcial lamb that is tommy muldoon... i will always remember him and his sacrfice!

i haven't sleeved any of my cards and i'm coming up on a year. I have noticed that my chits are getting a lot of wear, but i really can't tell any difference on the cards themselves. Granted I don't allow greasy food at the gaming table and I have let people know that should they spill drinks they can bet on replacing any components (through purchase of the entire box containing any given piece. I don't do a traditional bridge shuffle but I do more of a deck shuffle for cards. Sure it doesn't do a great job of mixing cards but it gets the job done well enough. Also, with so many encounter cards I only shuffle those on rare occasions.
