As an imperial at heart, here is what I would recommend: 15 rgc 18 2x estorm 3 r probe droid 4 2x r officer it gives you six activations, and a bunch of attacks and you only have to buy 2 packs (RGC and Storms). It can be a pretty solid list, but you need to practice with the rgc for when best to bring him to bear.

just remember that this is a big expansion box, and since every expansion box has only had itself and core components, I doubt we will see a fix for boba fett, who came from a different expansion.

you rang?

I'll be honest, i'm not a fan of pummel with luke. As a long time RGC player, you don't want one of your centerpeices stuck in the middle of the enemy where they are going to get shot to hell. Take your attacks, then move them back. It forces your opponenet to extend out to attack your units, and gives you better shots.

Make me a good squad with these sets, what I own.

this list isn't exactly competitive, but i you learn you to dodge the RGC and TGI in and out of combat, it can go pretty far: 15 royal guard champion 9 The grand inquisitor 9 e Stormies 5 e Probe droid 2 r Officer If you want 6 activations you can drop the e probe to an r probe and add another officer. If you get the chance, grab agent blaise's pack as it has zillo technique, which is arguably one of the best 1 point upgrades in the game. -

It is true, you can't declare an attack against one of your own figures, but invasive procedure is a special action that targets a figure. And since it doesn't specify an enemy or friendly, you can use it on either your own stuff, or your opponents stuff. This isn't the first time I've run something like this, just the first. My first iteration of a list with this interaction had one set of eRGs, the inquisitor, bossk (in order to indiscriminate fire the junk droid), urgnaut, and blaise. I never ran that in a tournament because i found that i'm not a fan of the inquisitor. After that, terro came out and both he and bossk could kill the junk droid, so i dropped the inquisitor and added terro with feeding frenzy and put motivation on bossk. My most current iteration replaced bossk with shyla, and blaise with bt-1. Blaise was an oddball in the list and I think that bt-1 will do just dandy with a bunch of other threats on the field. -

Obviously 0-0-0 threatens to do that to the guards and since the guards know that he works for vader... -
Hello friendly skirmish players! Today In Phoenix we had a store championship that netted us 10 players and our TO, so a pretty decent showing. The total split of lists was 7 mercs, 2 imperials, and 1 rebel (run by my friend and practice partner). My list was as follows: 2xeRoyal Guards 0-0-0 rProbe droid 2xrUrgnaut temp alliance zillo trusted ally on 0-0-0 Command Cards: 2 parting blow 2 parting blow 2 grisly contest 2 triangulate 1 pummel 1 pummel 1 shared experiance 1 blitz 1 eerie visage 1 black market prices 1 terminal protocol 0 mitigate 0 element of suprise 0 take initiative 0 Positioning advantage. Game 1 Anchorhead "buy that man a drink" cantina opponent was running boba fatt ig-88 + FotK chopper e jawa c3po bt-1 +explosive armaments. My opponent starts with imitative and chooses the top/desert side. Opening activation is c3po to focus boba and to move out into the corridor. My first activation is an urgnaut to drop the junk droid onto the ball of royal guard and next to 0-0-0 and move up into the protected "L" corner. Opponent then activates the jawa to go down the corridor and stops one space before the wall ends. for my second activation, and this is where people always get surprised, I have 0-0-0 use invasive procedure on my own junk droid, killing it, focusing himself, and all four royal guards, which then get to move forward a space! For the next games i'll just refer to this part. then move him to go join the urgnaut in the L. I forget what exactly the next move was, but i think ig-88 opened the door and chopper went as far down the hall as he could. I had my prode droid move up next to the door and an urgnaut move up into the L, place the junk droid which then moved to the the far terminal. my opponent then had bt-1 move 8 to be next to the patron in the small room. I had my forward group of royal guards run and cap the patron in the big space closest to me, and the patron close to the terminal in the x hallway. boba fett then moves to be next to the terminal and shoots my royal guard, pushing 5 damage through my guards defenses (ouch, but I know form experiance that boba usually hits like a wet noodle, so I will leave him be). Last group of guards goes, one opens the door and moves up to contest the terminal, and the other moves up and attacks boba, as he is in range to do so. I only manage to push 2 damage through with my focused hit sadly. round 2 starts, and I get two cards, he gains one. no effects for either people. I start with the injured royal guards. the one by the big room patron moves up to hit chopper and fells him in one swoop with the help of the blitz command card and retreets back out of line of sight while the injured one goes between the other two guards and tries to hit boba, put no damage through, (to no ones suprise) . He activates bt-1 and moves him up to melee range to see all 3 guards to use missile salvo. All being said he put through about 4 damage total after those 3 attacks. the innate surge block on eRoyals is pretty tough on 2 die attacks. I then have my second set of guards go and one gets to pummel bt-1 which kills him, and my other one goes to hit 3po and does 2 damage (red yellow dice are swingy). ig-88 then goes pushing 9 damage through on one of the guards, but they stand strong! I then have an urgnaut move up to the hiding royal guard and drop the junk droid which goes to attack the jawa but gets total blocked. 3po then goes and focuses the jawa and move back. then goes my probe droid which shoots at ig-88 and does a small amount of damage. his jawa goes and puts through some damage on the hiding royal guard. 0-0-0 moves up next to boba to weaken him, but thats all he can do. boba goes and shoots at the royal guard and gets a terrible roll and does no damage. last urgnaut goes and ends up killing 3po and getting up close to the front lines. round 3 is kind of hazy but I end up putting alot of damage onto ig-88 only needing one more damage by the end of the round, I ended up losing another guard, but at the start of the third round i grisly contested ig-88 to kill him and turned in the last patron to win. 1-0 Round 2 was on jabba's map with the pick up crates. Opponent had: ig-88 +fotk ejawa vinto jabba chopper 0-0-0 bt-1 first round I do my standard opening and he runs chop to the terminal to zap one of my guys. He opens the door and has vinto go get a crate and the jawa lurking. i also send the probe droid up to the guards behind the red line in the center. he urgencys bt-1 to where he can get a shot on royal guard and does decent damage, but I have my urgnaut open the door and my last pair of guards ends bt-1. second round i manage to off chopper in one attack and stun his ig-88 and get back into cover. cinto comes up to do vinto things and gets about 6 damage off between 3 attacks guards end him quickly with the help of grisly contest. he runs his 0-0-0 into my deployment to weaken my guards, the ejawa comes up short on his accuracy to hit a guard. my 0-0-0 gets up to his ig-88 after ig had gone to weaken him, the probe droid does some damage. I managed to make good use of shared experience and triangulate to bring down ig-88 and from there it was an easy battle. 2-0 Game 3 ISB cameras opponent: ig-88 +fotc ejawa 0-0-0 chopper onar eweaquays 3po +trusted ally under duress This was my toughest match of the day, I started with initiative and took the topside while he got the bottom side. I did my usual first round stuff and after several activations decided to open the door which allowed ig to get a shot in, then two more shots, and 2 shots more still as he started with devotion and had initiative the second round. that put the hurt on my guys so I was playing on the back foot. He kept most people near onar and 3po so getting surges through was hard, and even if i could stun IG he would trusted ally it away. I also made a tactical blunder of not killing onar with one health, so he was able to use his command card and get another attack off with the initiative. so overall, a big misplay and some horrible elite royal guard red dice (5 1 damage rolls) game ended with 40-30, but he had initiative next and would have killed 2 of my last 3 units. 2-1 At his point my friend and I were both 2-1 and we ended having to play each other. It was on the other ISB map and we had played this one out several times before so we just tried to do a bunch of these wonky "acheivements" that the TO had designed. My friend ended up winning, so he took second and I took fourth. 2-2 Overall it was a fun tournament with good people. There were a lot of ig-88 and I think he is a pretty great spot right now and can easily be worth his points, but isn't too overbearing.

Keep in mind that you can't use his upgrade if you bring him to imperials.

Other Franchise Possibilities (Speculation)
MadFuhrer replied to subtrendy's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
I would love a Stargate version of IA. The mission style lends itself perfectly to a campaign. -
put the targetting computer on bt-1, add a regular probe droid, and devious scheme.

vader's finest! vader palpatine 2xEstormies Zillo. Vader kills the tough opponents with built in defenses and the troops just pour out dpa.
-
I've run: Fenn 2x E rangers gideon Threepio RHC. it can be pretty fun and with 6 of those troopers running around, it isn't hard to use the assault.

Aye, Pigs do more damage, but they also have to go a lot further to do anything. Never underestimate the ability to re position enemy units. It allows you to set up shots for other units. She can also make good use of hunter cards and has a great personal command card. So sure, if you were to sit next to each other and flail on things, the pigs will come out on top, but don't think that shyla isn't worth every bit of 8 points.

I got four packs for my strain list!

Dear FFG, Dr. Aphra please?
MadFuhrer replied to VadersMarchKazoo's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
Can't recall, but I remember seeing the article and excitedly pointing out the name and having a long discussion about how awesome that is with my friends who didn't know of her. I know the article also mentioned donald glover as young lando. -
Dear FFG, Dr. Aphra please?
MadFuhrer replied to VadersMarchKazoo's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
I heard speculation that Dr. Aphra might also have a role in the upcoming Han Solo movie. So there is that as well. -
I highly recommend captain terro as you clearly like imperial! The ISBs are fantastic as well! you might want to pick up blaise, as he can be pretty BA as well, but not for direct attacking, but for support. If you want to get into scum, jabba's realm is a great place to start as everything in there is fantastic for mercs!

Hera and Chopper preview up!
MadFuhrer replied to Rogue Dakotan's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
Sure, they moved 5 to get there, but they only need 4 for line of sight to ig-88, which was the goal of the example. if they needed to get to the token, then that would have made more sense, but since the example is that they needed to shoot ig-88 then the didn't need to be that far forward. -
BT-1 and Elite Imperial Officer
MadFuhrer replied to daemon95131's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
Missile salvo is a special action, and cannot be commanded to use it. It is still an attack that he is using so he still becomes focused before the attack. -
Question for you guys that have preordered before: Do you often get your stuff close to the release date, or does the stuff start shipping to you on the release date?

Need some help for playing at LGS for FIRST TIME!
MadFuhrer replied to totalnoob's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
I thought the cardboard tokens were tournament legal as they are FFG official product. Of course, my experience for my first tournament was that people are willing to let other people borrow. the game is more fun with more people, and they will try to make it so that you can play. having all this plastic is cool and all, but if you can't have a new opponent it gets stale, so people will usually be willing to help out.. -
Miniature market is good too!

I also have atleast one of everything and would love the App so that we can all feel great when the rebs win! I would also like to use some tiles from other expansions with each other, especially the twin shadows tiles.
