What FCS and R7 does for Corran is allow him to have a bit more synergy for both defense and offense, especially offense paired with his ability. So you fire, TL, and if they fire back you spend it to force them to reroll their non-blanks (and focus if they don't have a focus token). And on the offense, it allows you to reroll your end-phase shot and still have a TL acquired on them if that didnt finish them off. In a Han-Corran list, Corran isn't the all star since all your eggs are in the Falcon. So you don't really care if Corran gets shot down, as long as he did his job as a distraction/supporting aggressor/pain in the opponents butt to add more survivability to Han so that he can gun everything else down. If you're running a mainly Corran list, R2-D2 is definitely the way to go.

I run a Han + Corran list as my go-to tournament list: Han Solo Veteran Instincts C-3PO Gunner Falcon Title Engine Upgrade (60) Corran Horn Veteran Instincts Fire Control System R7 Astromech (40) Use Corran Horn as a distraction and chip away at the force while the Han Superfalcon guns everything down. Veteran Instincts on both of them so they can move last and shoot first. FCS on Corran is amazing, especially with the R7 Astromech. I'd say Engine Upgrade over Expert Hndling is better on Han since it allows him to take an EPT and still arc dodge, and with the new change to barrel rolling large ships it isn't as broken anymore.

Thanks. A friend of mine made the Pro Tour and he'll need draft practice so we'll be there in a week or two, and I'll start dropping by on Thursday nights for X-Wing -
This conversion looks great!

How has Magic been over there at GMI? Labyrinth closed down and were not sure if we want to go back to GMI or try out Shuffle and Cut. -
I'm pretty systematic. Usually my first few maneuvers will be the same in nearly every game, but once we start exchanging fire and overlapping, everything goes to my gut feeling and I just wing it from there. That's how I have fun with the game.

They might do clash packs, an ace from Rebs and an ace from Imps in a two ship box.

Keyan Farlander, massive fan of Kylie "I'm spinning around Get out of my way" One of Keyan's pre-flight rituals consists of plugging his iPod into his B-Wing's auxiliary port and playing his 3-song playlist consisting of Kylie Minogue, Ratt and DOA.

My Outrider list will most likely be: Leebo Predator Dash Rendar (Crew) HLC Outrider Title It comes out to 51 points of 360* HLC that can shoot while on an asteroid and can't be obstructed.

The way I usually fly an E-Wing is to run and gun, especially with Corran Horn. Double tapping some Imperial nerf-herder and 5'ing the hell out of there keeps my Corran alive for the next turn. I made a thread last night about running double-decked out E-Wings and proposed two different strategies for offense and survivability. Since the E-Wing is super maneuverable, you can test the waters of your opponent's movement plan by banking 1 or 2, or even going 1-3 straight. If you want to jump the gun ASAP, then just 5 straight right into them or flank them. A TIE Swarm pumps out great volumes of fire, but the mastermind is Howlrunner so I would gun for her first unless you can chew through a few TIEs at range 1. Also, don't be afraid to run. If you can't quite grasp control of the situation, take a turn or two around the board and out of their firing arcs for a better position to return fire.

Huh, it must've not worked because I'm on mobile...

I'm used to flying two-ship Han Super Falcon + decked out Corran builds but I'm thinking about trying something different with a two-ship E-Wing build: Corran Horn (35) Marksmanship (3) R2-D2 (4) FCS (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Proton Torpedoes (4) (52) Etahn A'baht (32) Push the Limit (3) R2 Astromech (1) FCS (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Proton Torpedoes (4) (46) The list comes out to 98 points total, so rolling for initiative shouldn't be too much trouble. The plan is to basically fly the two in a pair utilizing hit-and-run tactics as the main strategy in order to attrition out the enemy. An EU on an E-Wing is insane, putting it close to the level of an A-Wing (lack of hard 1 hurts), and the FCS combos out well with the Proton Torps (although I'm not sure if I should take Proton or Flechette torpedoes). There is also the strategy of starting on opposite ends of the table and using the two highly maneuverable craft to pincer their way onto a high value target or formation. The enemy will most likely go after one or the other allowing the E-Wing that wasn't chosen to flank them, or they risk breaking their formation in order to deal with both E-Wings at once and I fall back into the attrition plan. All of this is just in theory as of right now and I plan on testing it out this weekend. The list is nothing compared to Han + Corran build, but I feel like it can be a whole new beast on its own.

I'm not watching that hour and a half long video... But after playing 3,000 points in a single game I can comfortably say that X-Wing is not Armada.

The plano will fit Lambdas, Firesprays and Falcons in the larger space within the interior just fine. I recommend cutting apart the plastic packaging and fitting it in that space so that they will have some protection from getting scratched up.

Who is a fan of the Animated series, Clone Wars?

It would be cool to see an Umbaran Dinosaur's-Pelvis Starfighter model on the table: http://beforeitsnews.com/science-and-technology/2012/12/was-the-umbaran-starfighter-from-clone-wars-inspired-by-an-apatosaurus-vertebra-2506160.html -
fun experiment: a release nobody would complain about?

Pretty much everything Lackwit said. Especially the part about welcoming and taking interest in diversity. It has opened my mind up to diversity and the "bigger picture" idealism that makes me wish we were in that galaxy far, far away. A galaxy that would make the politics and problems here on Earth seem like nothing but a drop in an ocean. A galaxy where there are countless worlds to see, danger around every corner, starships on long voyages and heroes fighting for their causes across the galaxy.I like how the religious and ritualistic aspects of the Force affect their universe physically. I like how even though there are the distinctive lines of black and white in this universe, be it Jedi and Sith, Rebels and Imperials, there are shades of gray in between every moral aspect that holds just as much, if not greater, value in everyone's life. But what Star Wars has brought me the most is a fine story that I can have so many things to talk about with people such as close friends and family to complete strangers. Just by existing, it has its own community and creates connections and friendships where people wouldn't expect to find them. While vacationing in Palm Springs I visited the Palm Springs Air Museum donning a blatant STAR WARS logo shirt. Wearing that shirt alone brought to me hours worth of discussion among retired fighter pilots, how the release of that movie in 1977 allowed them to reminisce on their times as fighter pilots in WWII or Vietnam, how that movie changed their lives and their children's lives and their grand children's lives. I have a group of friends whom we can discuss amongst each other the prequels, OT, EU, even philosphies and politics within Star Wars for hours without end. Some of those friends were made because we had those conversations. It has become such a positive part of our culture and it has affected me personally in so many ways that I don't think I'd have as many friends or experiences as I do now if it weren't for Star Wars.

Yeah, it looks like it would serve as something along the lines of an AWACS support ship in a battle. Maybe even 0 Attack since it has the Jam action?
-
Just going off the looks of it... 1 Attack (Forward only) 2 Agility 3 Shield 4 Hull Focus, TL, Jam Crew, Crew, Systems, Cargo 38 Points

Porkins was a great man. Shame on anyone who makes a mockery of him.

Everything is fine. Just because you favor an EPT over better ones doesn't mean you should try to change, make it work. There's a risk in taking ordnance just as the opportunity cost of not running them is there as well. Running Expose with Experimental Interface is also a risk vs. reward thing. If we make everything magically cheaper, we'd be making X-Wing too easy and the game would become stale and stagnant.

But can it beat the falcon?

What ship do you have a positive emotional attachment to?
SpikeSpiegel replied to MooseMCA's topic in X-Wing
I'm glad you had great and memorable experiences with your father. And I'm glad X-Wing can have such an effect on us all, making the game just that much more enjoyable in a unique way for each and every one of us. The ship that holds a special place in my heart is the B-Wing. I remember my dad and I watching Return of the Jedi plenty of times on VHS together. My favorite scene would be when the space battle of Endor began and the B-Wings were unlocking their foils into attack position. I couldn't get over how cool they were. But the reason why the B-Wing has such a connection with me was because the year I turned five (or six?) I broke my arm in horrible playground incident the day before my birthday. After the doctors completed the surgery on my arm, my dad brought me one of my birthday presents to the hospital- and it was the B-Wing! It took so many more hours to complete with only one hand, but it was still just as fun to play with with one hand as it is with two. Fast forward to this past May. 14 years later, my friends are getting into X-Wing and have the core sets, so I buy a B-Wing off the shelf of our LGS and jump into the battle with them. Now, I have two huge fleets of Rebels and Imperials and I'm in deep for everything X-Wing.
