Deathrain is by far my favorite Imperial ship!
-
I read it, but the everything would literally just take EU and AT. Defenders don't need Mk.II if they can boost and get consistent modifiers. Lambdas also get boost and consistent modifiers. Decimators also get boost and consistent modifiers. Phantoms get boost and consistent modifiers. Thematically, everything gets boost and consistent modifiers. Why would anyone want to take anything less than the best combination of upgrades at that point? It's limitation to interceptors only is what keeps it from breaking the faction. We can apply this logic to rebels too, what if A-Wing Test Pilot wasn't limited to the A-Wing only? Corran would love to have VI and PtL. Makes sense thematically. Wedge + Predator and Opportunist is cool, too. And we'd also love to see Han + Pred + anything that will make him only better. Then Scum gets boned, unless everything gets the Heavy Scyk title so that Khiraxz can take cannons.

Engine Upgrades make the Khiraxz worthwhile in my experience.

Mandalorian Mercenary (35) Expert Handling (2) "Mangler" Cannon (4) K4 Security Droid (3) Feedback Array (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Mandalorian Mercenary (35) Expert Handling (2) "Mangler" Cannon (4) K4 Security Droid (3) Feedback Array (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder I'm trying to make a bunch of ace squadrons similar in fashion to the ace squadrons in Ace Combat Zero - The Belkan War. I based this one off of Gelb Team (pair of Su-37s) because of their heaviness and maneuverability. I figured the synergy between Expert Handling and K4 would work great. Expert Handling also works with firing up a feedback array if you can get into range 1 of an enemy from a position where you couldn't get arc. Manglers are great and Engine Upgrade allows better chances for some arc dodging and range 1 shots. I also named it Jester Squadron because it seems like a funny list full of tricks to play.

The Scyk just needed green hard-2s to be playable.

"Redline" (27) Advanced Sensors (3) Extra Munitions (2) Plasma Torpedoes (3) Concussion Missiles (4) Concussion Missiles (4) Proximity Mines (3) Autothrusters (2) "Deathrain" (26) Advanced Sensors (3) Extra Munitions (2) Homing Missiles (5) Homing Missiles (5) Cluster Mines (4) Cluster Mines (4) Autothrusters (2) Total: 99 View in Yet Another Squad Builder Shaking up the two-ship meta with these fatties. Homing missiles and all the mines on Deathrain since he can't maintain two locks, which is why I stuck the Concussion missiles on Redline since he can get all the re-rolls and hits against anything. He's also packing a single mine for the road, too. Enjoy!

My local sushi place has a Talon Roll. Spicy crab, spicy tuna, siracha, shrimp tempura and eel topped with jalapeños and spicy mayo. It's supposed to feel like a talon of spiciness on your tongue. Totally unrelated to the topic, whatever.

3,000 point X-Wing Apocalypse: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/113789-beyond-epic-x-wing-apocalypse-3000-point-game/ We had to modify the rules and there were many planning and spacing mistakes made, but we plan on doing it again soon when we can coordinate a weekend for some players to come together and play out an entire game between 3 factions.

I really hope we see a Crusader-class Corvette.

I prefer Flickr. Has a bunch of size options and posting options.

Looks really nice. I'd love to see something similar on the Outrider with a magnetized turret!
-
Per side. We also did a 550 per side game, but you had to use 50 points for ordnance.
-
Thanks for the compliments! I'll be uploading more pics soon! Yep. Those Single Turbolasers wrecked it hard. This is my question also. It took 5 hours to get through 5 turns. We had to end it since the store owner was closing up shop. My opponent nabbed the Decimator and a handful of TIEs, while I managed to destroy his Y-Wings and Fore section of the CR. it was going to be a close game!

...OF THE AWESOME 500 POINT GAME THAT HAPPENED LAST FRIDAY!!!!! Talk of the supposedly new Core Set is cool and all, but I'm still oogling over how awesome the Raider is. I mean, it's a freakin' home-brewed wedge WITH INTERCEPTOR WINGS. Not only that, Emperor Palpatine and Tarkin kick some major ass in this game. And I really enjoy the TIE Advanced upgrades, they really needed the firepower boost to be viable. Also, upping the game to 500 points really lets you kit out an Epic ship and have enough points left over for the small fighters to add that cinematic feel of a large-scale skirmish among squadrons. I also love how epic ships play out against each other, launching salvos of heavy laser fire at the enemy corvette and the defensive lasers at the smaller ships strafing it. May be just me, but I enjoy it so much more than Standard and Escalation. My buddy (L0STHER0) and I are probably going to organize something crazier in the future, like a 3,000 point game. 1,500 vs. 1,500, or maybe 1,000 x 3 between the three factions if someone can cram enough Scum into 1,000 points. Bigger games are always better. And yeah, you may have been click-baited or duped or tricked into clicking on this thread. I hope you felt a bit of self-righteous rage/annoyance/facepalming when you read the title. Oh well.

I noticed problems in Wave 4, with the Decimator mount being too loose and falling off the pegs every time I lifted it to move along the board. Wave 5, 3 out of 5 of my Scyks were mounting crooked, the pegs were too loose or the base was warped. Half of my Scum Z-95s were mounting crooked as well. One of my IGs was also mounting at a weird angle as well. So I just said screw it all and magnetized my whole collection. Looks waaaaayyyy better in the long run in my opinion.

The Might of the Empire - 500pt Beyond Epic list!

Who wants to see some pictures? -
100 point death matches are getting stale, and if you know me, then you know that I like doing ridiculously large games of X-Wing (1,000-3,000 point games!) because then it truly feels like a cinematically tactical experience. Now, with the Raider out on shelves, I've had some time to throw a list together for tomorrow night's Beyond Epic game: Raider-class Corvette (Aft) (50) Shield Technician (1) Grand Moff Tarkin (6) Single Turbolasers (8) Ion Cannon Battery (6) Gunnery Team (4) Engineering Team (4) Comms Booster (4) Impetuous (3) Raider-class Corvette (Fore) (50) Quad Laser Cannons (6) Tibanna Gas Supplies (4) Colonel Jendon (26) Advanced Sensors (3) Emperor Palpatine (8) ST-321 (3) "Howlrunner" (18) Swarm Tactics (2) "Dark Curse" (16) "Backstabber" (16) Academy Pilot (12) Academy Pilot (12) Academy Pilot (12) Academy Pilot (12) Academy Pilot (12) Soontir Fel (27) Push the Limit (3) Stealth Device (3) Autothrusters (2) Royal Guard TIE (0) Turr Phennir (25) Push the Limit (3) Autothrusters (2) Stealth Device (3) Royal Guard TIE (0) Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46) Predator (3) Gunner (5) Rebel Captive (3) Engine Upgrade (4) Darth Vader (29) Predator (3) Advanced Targeting Computer (1) Engine Upgrade (4) TIE/x1 (0) Maarek Stele (27) Push the Limit (3) Advanced Targeting Computer (1) Engine Upgrade (4) TIE/x1 (0) Total: 499 View in Yet Another Squad Builder Going for full synergy support with Palpatine, Tarkin and Jenson + ST-123. I'm also mixing arc-dodgers, turrets and swarms into a single list, trying to get the best of all 3 archetypes into a single super-list. As for the Raider, I like to thinking set it up to be extremely resilient and powerful. Loaded to the teeth with guns and all the shield recovery one could ask for! Anyway, I've been excited for the Raider all year long and I'll finally get to fly it tomorrow!

Turbolasers on my CR-90 to hammer the enemy capital ship while I flank its blind spot with Procket A's and B-Wings!

Upping the Ante: Checking in on the Point Limit
SpikeSpiegel replied to ForceSensitive's topic in X-Wing
I think the problem with just upping the points cost in standard dogfights will just be swarms getting more swarmy, fat ships getting more escorts, and Brobots getting their 3rd bro. -
I've already been playing epic in the 300, 500, 1,000 and 3,000 point ranges. The Raider just evens out the playing field a little.
-
I hated the look of it, but then it kinda grew on me. I hope it's as fun as the B-Wing.
