  1. You're assuming they can't say anything about it. Another possibility is that they're just not far along enough to say anything about it. No I'm not - Disney says they (and anybody else) can't say anything about it. They've declared Sept 4th as the release date for "toy" related announcements for Episode VII. Also, the CEO says they've got Episode VII products "on the water" implying designed, prototype, play tested, produced products. They didn't say which product lines this stuff is for - the X-Wing forum here is strongly speculating it's X-wing stuff, but I think Armada stuff is as likely (or in addition). I'm aware that Disney has embargoed Ep. 7 product announcements. However, that, plus a lack of any Armada announcements, does not imply that there is a Wave 3 announcement just waiting for people to get their hot little hands on. There may be, sure. Or there may not. The Armada designers could easily be at a point where they're not ready to announce anything, even if it is related to Ep.7. Their silence tells us nothing more than they didn't have an announcement.

  3. The fact that FFG announced Wave 2 IMO waaaaay to early doesn't change anything. I mean if you look at Wave 8 it's prototypes models, that means Wave 3 for Armada isn't even to that state yet. What exactly are they going to say? 'We have some stuff planed for Wave 3 but nothing to show you yet.' Yeah they did. Even said that Armada was a huge success for them. But how big the launch was doesn't change what information they have. It's not like Armada is the only game or even biggest game they have. Very true. There's no real point in saying that they have no news, and there's no real reason for everyone to get their collective underpants in a twist. Wave 3 will be announced when it's announced, and not before.
  4. That's not an afterthought, that's one of their primary missions. If your fighters are preventing your opponent's fighters from doing their job, then you're doing it right.
  5. I use Battle Foam for X-Wing, but their decision to not have shapes for small ships made it easy to decide to use Sir Willi's boxes.
  6. You can do Team vs Team, which (like in X-Wing), works pretty well. 1 vs 1 vs 1 (or more) don't really work, not so much because the rules don't allow it, but because three+-way scenarios are very difficult to balance. Unfortunately, they usually devolve into two teams ganging up on the third, and then the survivors fight it out.
  7. If by 'support' you mean print official campaigns/missions, probably not. FFG only did a few with X-Wing, and I suspect that they probably won't do it for Armada.
  8. No, amazon is not saying anything. Funagain games is saying 2 weeks. A 3rd party seller who has no inside information whatsoever and is known for just putting random dates on their pre-orders. I don't know why I have to keep explaining this. Cool Stuff, Inc. is saying July for the Raider and Wave 7.
  9. I guess it's good that there's about zero chance that we meet in real life right now... Stay focused, you will be extremly self-satisfied when you're done and look at your wall of squadrons. And if you really can't stand the squad boxes anymore, go build 3-5 CardHolders and afterwards the squad hangars will feel like vacation. If by card holders you mean the "command bridge" type things, I'm actually not doing any. Personal taste, but I prefer to have everything flat on the table. I did do the dice box and the damage deck with the stand. I still have to do: -Boxes for all cards except 1 damage deck (I have 2) -Gear boxes and hangars for 1 of each core set ship -58 squadron boxes (2 cores and 6 squadron packs is 68 squadrons, 10 boxes done) -11 size 6 carrier boxes Having 10 squadron boxes already, I know how great they are. I mostly hate cutting them. I only have scissors. It sounds like it would be worth investing in a cutting board. Something like this: http://smile.amazon.com/Fiskars-Classic-Rotary-Paper-Trimmer/dp/B000YAJHVE/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1436971007&sr=8-10&keywords=fiskars+cutting+board My wife has one because does a lot of crafts, and it's made doing the boxes much, much easier.
  10. It depends on the size of the version you print out. I'm pretty sure that even the smallest thickness can hold cards for more than one copy of each ship.
  11. Wave 2 is coming to mangle wallets and destroy budgets everywhere
  12. What pilot skill is John Galt? He was shot down over the first Death Star, by the greenest Academy Pilot to survive powering up.
  13. Ouch! . However, it is most excellent to hear that we will have the new hangars soon.
  14. Every time this comes up, I wonder how we got this glut of unemployed business analysts. It seems that there's this assumption that the people running FFG just don't know what they're doing, and with just a few 'simple' steps, everything will be unicorns and puppies again. They've only done very well, and are making money hand over fist.
  15. I suppose that's better than being "Pay To Win Guy" or "Elitist **** Guy". How about "Whiny Complaints Guy"? Or, "I Feel Entitled To Whatever I want Guy"?
  16. Grow up. FFG hasn't forced anybody to do anything, except decide for themselves whether it's worth it to buy each expansion.
  17. You mean a different scraping of the bottom of the barrel?
  18. I'm fine with one or two waves a year, but I hope they don't do more Aces packs.
  19. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
  20. I think your comment about the squadron vs. squadron and ship vs. ship battles is spot-on, but I think that's a reflection of the source material. If you watch Return of the Jedi, the fighters are doing their own thing (and taking the occasional pot shot). It's only when the Rebel fighters have broken through the Imperial screen do they attack the ships.
