Honestly, from a game play standpoint, what does a third faction gain the game? Not much, really. It's still a 1-on-1 (or one team vs. another). I can see having a third (fourth, etc.) faction in a campaign, but that's easy enough to do without changing the basic game, or the inevitable balance issues that happen when making a big change.
-
Oh come on, I was obviously being facetious. I do think adding a third faction goes beyond the spirit of a simple dog fighting game, which is what the name seems to imply. Besides, nobody picked up on my amazing The Warriors reference. I did, but then again I'm a big fan of the movie.

Like I posted above, I'm going to create a custom tray for my Battle Foam P.A.C.K. 432.
-
I'm probably going to do a custom tray with them that also holds the transport. I'm thinking at least 4 inches, but I haven't really pulled mine from the box since I got it.
-
A better option would be for them to officially team up with someone to do it. FFG's core competency is game design, not foam design.
-
I'll be buying at least one of each.

It's a trap!

My local gaming group did a 2 vs. 2 game for the first time, and it took much longer than we expected. We're pretty good about 1 on 1's getting finished in about an hour, but this took four hours. I think it took much longer due to the need to coordinate, and the larger number of ships added more variables.

urgent message for people with wave 4 ships..
DarthSidious replied to Wayne Argabright's topic in X-Wing
No joke, and nothing illegal. Battle Foam doesn't have a partnership with FFG, so they have to wait for the Wave 4 ships to come out before they can make their foam trays for storage. Swedge is trying to accomplish this sooner, rather than later. Maybe he should have won some ships, then he could send in his own instead of asking others to give up their winnings Sure, but the point was that Swedge wasn't condoning 'piracy' or anything else illegal. -

They can give people a free transport, but people are still waiting for imperial aces?? Cool Stuff, Inc. has Imperial Aces in stock.

"It's fun" seems to me to be reason enough

It's on the custom tray creator.
-
I sent them an email asking whether they were working on a tray for the 4th Wave. They responded that, since they are not licensed by FFG, they have to wait until the figures are released in order to do the trays. So, hopefully the trays will be out in the June/July time frame.

How are they unethical? Because this happened. I don't know the details and didn't follow it closely. However they are the only company around that I know of that has anything as nifty as the PACK system of bags that allows you to attach various bags together so that you can bring what you need. Fair enough. I would love to continue supporting Outrider Hobbies, but unfortunately the guy who runs it probably shouldn't be running a business on the internet, or anywhere else for that matter.

The P.A.C.K. bags are 15.5"x12". I think you meant their FOW-sized trays.
-
I guess that's one way to put it. I didn't realize it was so harsh.
-
Wave 4 will be out when they're out.

I ordered several mats from Monday Knight Productions: http://www.mondayknight.com/Mats/UnflockedMini.html The 3x3 unflocked maps are under $20 each. MKP is also very responsive, compared to other small companies that I've ordered from, and I would recommend them to anyone who's looking for a mat.

It sure is.

Well, if you're going to stretch your money, go for Imperial Aces, and get the two interceptors.
-
Battle Foam already has a tray for the transport: http://us.battlefoam.com/star-wars-rebel-transport-foam-tray-bf-2/ I wouldn't be surprised if they're already working on one for the Tantive IV and the Wave 4 ships.

I know the frustration of losing games, even in a non-competitive setting. I finally got my first win running an Imperial list last weekend, and have a .333 win percentage so far. In several of the games, I just couldn't get a break with the dice. It's all a learning experience. Plus, the win was against a buddy of mine, and I think it was his first loss. Motivation enough to keep playing .

FYI, you can get a 3D printer for a lot cheaper than that. As low as ~500$ if you source everything your self. And ~800$ or so, maybe even 700$, for a DIY kit. Fully assembled probably around 1000$. Probably closer to $1000 for the DIY kit, and add $200-400 for having them build it for you (if offered). Out of the box solutions are around $2000. I bought a kit last year, and it's definitely been a learning experience. Price varies on the size of the build area, as well as where you get the kit/parts from.
