I have a fiancée (why waste 10 000-20 000$ for a wedding when you can buy all kind of games with it instead?) that play games, a 60'' TV, PS3-PS4-WiiU, Dolby Suround 7.1 in my pitch black basement.... What did I won? The Internet.

Two Corvettes more powerful than a Victory-class Star Destroyer?
DarthSidious replied to xanderf's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Right, but two Corvettes ARE priced higher than the Victory-class Star Destroyer. So either the total combination of all their attributes - hull, firepower, command rating, maneuverability, responsiveness, shields, available upgrade slots, etc - is sufficient that two of them are intended to be able to defeat a Victory-class Star Destroyer... ...or the point system isn't any good for balancing forces in a match. I don't like either of those possibilities. Maybe we should avoid false dichotomies. We don't have all of the information yet, so let's avoid rampant Chicken-Littleism. The Internet has never been good at avoiding these things. Yes, that's true. Unfortunately, these forums seem to chum the waters so to speak. -
You've crushed me. LOL. But you've got the blackout curtains .

My wife's not a gamer, although she's played Carcassonne and Zombies!!!, and enjoyed them. Just waiting for my daughter and son to get a little older before introducing them. Until then, we've got the 65" TV, 5.1 Surround, PS3, and Star Wars on Blu-Ray to tide them over.

Nobody really wanted to be a part of this thing? Nobody wanted to be a part of the Glorious Imperial Navy?! Protecting the Galaxy from sum, villains and rebels? For shame, Lucas. FOR SHAME. Given the Empire's penchant for building failure into their large projects, I'm not surprised that they'd be against basic math.

Patience, young padawan. When you have to wait 25 Years* for an expansion, that's a long wait. * ISC Wars for Federation and Empire (ADB)

Guys, will Armada cause you to give up X-Wing?
DarthSidious replied to Papa Midnight's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Not at all. I've been playing multiple game systems for three decades, so why stop now. Purchasing will probably slow down, but not playing. -
Three player scenarios are very hard to balance.
-
I don't see why Wave 6 would make you want to quit the game. As a doubter (more because most of the pro-side arguments were lacking than for any other reason), I certainly will be purchasing Wave 6. And Armada.

FFG apparently splits the X-Wing community every time they release something new. Why should SWA be any different? After all, the fires from the holy wars after they didn't release fuchsia-colored wooden tokens have yet to burn out.

Here's his plan: Step 1: Die messily. Step 2: ??? Step 3: PROFIT!! I can just see his special pilot ability as "Opponent shoots first"

I don't think that Greedo would do very well in a dogfight.

Would you play this game if it wasn't Star Wars?
DarthSidious replied to cyclopeatron's topic in X-Wing
Probably not. STAW doesn't really interest me because SFB/F&E have owned my Trek mindshare for over 25 years now, and as much as I like the various series, I doubt that will change. WoG just doesn't have the draw for me, and I doubt the rest of my gaming group would have any interest, either. The D&D version looks somewhat interesting, although it would've been much more if they had used a Dragonlance theme. -
Yes, I will be purchasing it. Timing will depend on a number of factors, but I have no doubt that my local gaming group will be buying it, too. I will keep playing X-Wing, too.
-
I have other, non-game purchases coming up in the next few months, so I'll probably pick up Rebel Aces and Wave 5 in November.
-
Because there have already been several 'third faction' threads, along with at least one 'FFG is secretly hinting at upcoming ships through the artwork' thread. A mashup doesn't really add anything new.
-
In terms of likeliness: Armada demo/display: high Rebel Aces: high Imperial huge ship or ships: medium/high Wave 5 ships demo/display: medium Wave 6 hints: low Third Faction: almost zero
-
*sigh* Really?

Whatever do you mean? I've got the Decimator on pre-order! (But... you're right. The Decimator is the outlier. Still, I think it's more accurately said that FFG is choosing not to produce the ships that Mikael Hasselstein would buy, because they're catering to video-gamers rather than crusty old roleplayers like himself.) Mikael Hasselstein prefers to talk about himself in the third person
-
Apparently so.

Me: Yesssss! My wallet: Nooooooooooooooo!

Change the title of the game to "Ywing vs Tie Advanced" Remove every other ship of the game ??????????????? Mad Profits and game balance. Yeah, but according to the source material, the TIE Advanced wins every time .
-
TIE Phantom.

All my pilots taste like chicken.
