It's entirely possible that English is not his/her first language.I really hope you only post drunk because you write like a 12 year old. It is quite painful to try and get through your grammatical stumbling and bumbling.
I have Dyslexia would You two like to make fun of my wheelchair as well?
or maybe the MS?
all this because I agreed with someone that it was expensive to buy a ship for one card.
WOW it Amazing what people will type on a computer that they probably would say to your face..DarthSidious,ScottieATF, & Lyraeus
Actually, sir, I was pointing out to ScottieATF that you might not be a native English speaker, which might have explained your wording. It's not a personal attack, nor was it making fun of you. However, you have done nothing but attack other people on this thread. Your dyslexia and MS do not give you license to do so without being called out for it.

"This is not X-Wing where you HAVE to have TLT's to be competitive"
used you big boy words not abbreviations...
I'm not going to look up what they mean I don't have time for that
if you have a point type it out.
just because you got 3rd place mean nothing who did you play? was there list competitive to yours? did you not take upgrades? are they new, greens?
all these and more mean something.
If you're going to chide someone on their use of language, you had best be sure that yours is spotless, first.

Wow, I think I hit a nerve. I started by buying 2 of the starter sets so I'm never buying the ships in that as expansions. I have spent $40-50 on E-bay buying cards I wanted. The most recent being another redundant shield. My m-80 and M-30 had them and my AF2 felt left out. I do buy ship expansions, but it's the ships I want knowing I can pick up cards online later. All I'm saying is I'd rather give that money to FFG then to a guy with a cottage industry canalizing stuff bought cheep to break up. If they don't want to do it, I'll keep buying cards on e-bay
Not really, it's just that this brand of special-snowflakeism comes up on the X-Wing forum from time to time, usually from some amateur business analyst who thinks that they know FFG's business better than they do.
-
I'm more or less fine with how they do upgrade cards, but I was a little annoyed that the only place to find either TRC's or APT's was the MC30, as I simply cannot find a reason to own more than three.
I guess what I'm really asking for is someone to tell me its ok to buy more, so I can externalize the shame.
You know you want it

Basic human decency was perhaps hyperbole. Apologies. My point was simply that, as someone who has bought multiple copies of all expansion ships, it is unfortunate that there is not a matching reasonable supply of all of the upgrade cards. I have at least 4 times as many copies of defense liaison as XI7 turbolasers. Can FFG do this? yes. Does distributing the cards in this way make FFG more money? probably yes. Is it a nice thing to do to their customers though? no.
Here's the thing though: you know where to find the XI7 Turbolasers card. If you want more of them, buy the packs. Or, alternatively, proxy the cards (if you're not doing tournaments) or go on the Bay of E, or find another alternative. Or, just wait until they get released again in another expansion.
-
I don't need them to make card packs, but I think a more even distribution of the non-faction specific upgrades would be great. I've bought a whole bunch of Armada at this point, and still end up with only 2 flight controllers, 2 XI7s and 3 TRCs. I don't need card packs, what I do need is for them to reprint some of these 1-of cards into future ship expansion packs. I'll buy the ships, in multiples too, I just want to have a reasonable distribution of cards to go with them. Does it make FFG more money to make people buy 7 MC-30s to get 7 copies of TRC for their corvette swarm? Maybe. Does it pass the 'basic human decency' test though? I don't think so.
I think you're confused. if you're playing in a tournament, and you want to run that list, the onus is wholly on you to finance it. FFG does not owe you cheap, multiply-available cards (although they do have a habit of putting cards in multiple releases). Armada is a luxury, and the argument that they are somehow lack decency isn't even wrong. After all, no one is making the same argument for Ferraris, and they at least have some utility.

Unfortunately, FFG does not have a license to make Star Wars computer games.

I guess it's windmill-jousting season again
. FFG has stated on multiple occasions that they will not be doing this. -
I have always been too worried about warping to do this, so I have used glue tape. That is more expensive and sometimes doesn't get corners as well. Do you suggest going to elmers?
Yeah. A small amount, thinly spread over the tab works really well, and doesn't really mess with the paper. My wife uses glue tape for her crafting projects, and I know it's pricey and you generally need to go to specialty stores to get it. Elmer's is cheap and plentiful.
-
Word of warning based on recent experience: If you use superglue when assembling these, you will get a VERY secure box, but superglue's claim on paper is absolute and unyielding. For most of the boxes I've done so far this hasn't caused any problems, but the glue's complete lack of give or flexibility gave me a few issues when doing the ISD box. Nothing serious, but I did end up having to trim down the lid flap to compensate for a minor misalignment, and the GearBox and reinforcing beam have to give each other some personal space. On the upside, the only way this box is coming apart is for the paper itself to be destroyed!
After having done a large number of boxes, I've found that regular white glue (i.e., Elmer's) works really well. It also has the benefit of being able to maneuver the pieces for a little bit if you need to line things up.

Admittedly, while I am looking forward to Wave 3, I haven't even had a chance to use my Wave 2 ships. I'm still working through getting them all in Sir Willi's microhangars.

Rebels do seem to have more toys, Regen, stress, all the turrets.
Imp do have better arc dodgers and swarms. Scum have dirty tricks.
It's almost as if someone designed them that way...

I finally got started with making the Wave 2 boxes. I'm going to need a second container

Nice!

I've had to wait 25 years for an expansion to be released for a game, so an additional month or two is really nothing.

That's when FFG gets to start making stuff up, like the TIE Offender!
I'm offended by that.

Wave 2 is done - fantastic!

Tell your wife you are internet famous, if you ever come to New Brunswick Canada I'll buy you and your wife a nice dinner.
That's very nice, thank you!

LOL, tell your wife you are a pillar of the community! People across the Globe ooh and aah when your work is displayed. Your screen name is spoken in game stores in every major country and even a bunch of the small ones. You're kind of a big deal.

Wow, that's nice, I'll take this thought with me into my weekend, thank you!My newly formed Armada proof reading team (Thanks!) just received the first bunch of files, keep your fingers crossed...
Just one error found, sent to your email.

Not often enough. It's been a couple of months, between coordinating schedules and other games' campaigns finishing up.

Well, posts like this are the metaphorical equivalent of kicking a wasp's nest. A lot of angry buzz is generated, and the wasps just keep stinging.

I've been posting in the wrong thread, ha! That's what I get for trusting a search function!
Love the boxes, all of my Wave 1 got boxed up last night. I got a little high on the glue, but it was worth it.
Anyway, has anyone found a good carrying case that can hold a whole mess of the hangers? I figure since they are all square I can find something, but figured I would ask if anyone has found a perfect solution.
I went for a plastic bin with a locking lid, probably $10 at my local store. I will probably need to get a second one once SirWillibald releases the Wave 2 boxes, but it's much less expensive than the Battle Foam case I'm using for X-Wing.

For all of you who don't have a FLG...

Yep, I buy from them often. You also get a small additional discount (maxes out at 5%) as you buy more stuff.
