@everyone: the ignore function exists for a reason. Paragoombaslayer and Warpman deserve each other; let them stand in the kitchen and mutter to each other while the rest of us enjoy the party.
@OP: I'm very worried that the line between unusable ordnance and overpowered ordnance might end up being razor-thin. But I hope, with Guidance Chips and Long-Range Sensors, they finally managed to perch on that line. Time will tell.

Someone say burst damage? The Imperials have that covered.

It appears that's exactly what Goomba did. The 'problem' - insofar there is one - seems to be that he is angry about it. Like he is lifting his skinny fists to heaven and shouting "Look! Look what you made me do! Now I am playing a double aces list!"

I may not like it if someone plays a list solely motivated by revenge, but in the end it is not my business why someone chooses to play a certain way (unless, I can imagine, it becomes personal). It seems to be a simple matter of finding something that is better than the rest. Sometimes we enjoy that, and occasionally we don't.

Exactly right. You can't have it both ways.

Justify it to yourself any way you want mate.

But when you're doing the exact same as the people you despise, you're no better than them and are indeed part of the problem.

There's a recurring theme on this board. "I would enjoy this game if only my opponent would play the lists I want him/her to play."
The obvious solution is to discuss this with said opponent.
This cannot be done in the tournaments...but then again those tournaments are not there to present you with enjoyable matches, but to play the game to its limits. You either enjoy that or you don't. And it's okay if you don't like it, really.

So... your response to the meta you despise is to embrace one of its most abusive variants?  Doesn't that actually make you part of the problem?

If you actually believe the game is about predicting your opponent and out-flying them, then why not build lists with that in mind and show your opponents the game can be played another way?  Demonstrate other builds are viable and you might bring some people with you.

I don't think that means what you think it means.

Interesting.  I've been here for years and not only do I not know what those mean I think this may also be my first time seeing any of them.

Fat Han:  Usually Han Solo with the C-3PO upgrade and possibly more.  A "Fat X" is generally used to refer to any X that may be harder to take down that usual.

Swarm:  I'll say it is usually a squadron running 5 or more ships which often share a ship type.

Fortress:  Sometimes used to denote a squad which is set up to cause overlaps with its own ships resulting in no net movement of the ships.  A "Point Fortress" is a tournament concept where an expensive ship that is hard to bring down, especially in some time period, is used to 'protect' points helping a player get a win or at least maximize their MoV in a loss.

Block/Blocking:  Moving a ship into a position where another ship is very likely to try to move.
Bump:  The shorthand notation for when a ship overlaps another ship and sometime used when it overlaps an obstacle.
Touching:  The state a ship is in after bumping another ship.  The only way to touch is to bump but other things may leave you physically adjacent.

[boom] or [hit] = filled in explosion symbol on a red die
[kaboom] [kablam] or [crit] = open explosion symbol
Both of these are sometimes used to avoid confusion of what a "hit" actually is in the game.  An attack only "hits" if an effect (Lt. Blount) says it does or if there are still boom and/or kaboom dice results left after the results are compared to defense dice.

Since I play Empire 90% of the time, here is my favorite Firespray loadout:

Bounty Hunter with Gunner for 38 points

In every list I make I like to have an anchor ship that I can rely on to take some hits, deal reliable damage, and provide a point to where my flankers and arc  dodgers can flank from.  Maybe I'm not a good enough player yet, but I always wind up jousting with something  and the Firespray can be that something that can joust effectively.

Ugh, when do people learn that Engine Upgrade on high PS ships all the time is just a crutch for people who can't fly better?

Many people seem stuck on the idea that the Firespray isn't good enough but I just don't get them. While perhaps not uber top-tier, it's a good and reliable ship that can do just about everything.

Surprised at how many people miss this rule; The firespray allows you to spend an action to load one Carbonite token onto the card. You may then, in the activation phase, spend Carbonite tokens on your Firespray's card for systems upgrades at a rate of 1 / 1point.
In all seriousness though, I find it works well somewhere between a tank and a heavy fighter. People often overestimate its threat though and concentrate on it disproportionately.
    Also, Kath Scarlett.

So what do you do about the 16+ pages of FAQ we've already got, much of which is counterintuitive or outright contradicts the actual rules/cards, and it only says so on the internet?
