Triggered The False Report not once but twice to bring Navy Palpatine back into play and bring back the 12 damage objective from the dead for a total of three times in 5 turns. Thought that was funny.
-
Ah didn't notice that. Good point.
-
But would that be worth it? Sure you can pump him to a 4 or 5 but then you get, what 1 maybe 2 uses all game and one of your best units and 3-4 good enhancements are tied up with him.
-
Yeah 2 cores and 2 EOD's later, possibly the Balance of the Force packs. Hoth has a lot of cards that get very little play.
-
FYI It's spelled Revan
Great cards I cannot wait to get em some day.

We intend to do regular tournaments. Really why the heck should I complain? First even I went 5-5 which isn't bad at all.
I just complain too much. Explains why I played 3PO in my college's radio adapation
-
Nah I would keep coming and try and do casual play. I am going with a Navy swarm and really trying to find a good combo with Crix/Jan plus my 2 friends who came had a blast (one of em really needs experience players help though, he went 0-8 (bye) and never got his Dial up past 6 and never saw turn 5 as Light Side and destroyed only 2 objectives all day. I am nowhere near good enough to offer anything but very obvious advice
-
And hey it's possible there was a lot more variety and I just never saw it. That's good, means games will be more interesting. Could have been a bad luck of the draw
-
First 3 and last were Sith Control. Was 5 Rounds of Swiss. 3 were Freeholders/Mains, one was Jedi and one was Freeholders/Unblockables. The other deck was a Capture deck that worked well against an unblockable vehicle which shocked me as that doesn't seem like an ideal matchup
-
Balanced in your area. I fought ALL freeholders and Sith Control in 4 out of 5 matches.
-
Yeah that was the other thing. First 3 DS decks I played against were Sith Control and 80% the same. I'm told people bring more variety to non-regional qualifiers and regular play and I hope so.
-
So at New England qualifiers I saw 16/21 players using a Dash/Freeholders combo with the Falcon. Some added in the Blockade Runner/Sleuths others the Han/Lando pods but it was deja vu all day. And really frustrating to see a game with this many cards limited to 2 variation decks.
As a first tournament experience that was a downer. Everyone was nice and all but I'm hoping this gets fixed STAT.
Until it does though, what's a good dark side counter? Palpatine/Weequay/Jabba/Mara capturing and Tactics icons up the wazoo? Has anyone found a good way to shut this down? I lost all 3 matches to these jokers on their second turn (one guy got an absurd opening hand of 3 Freeholders, One Falcon and two of the drawing 2 cards each event which I assume is just a one in a thousand NPE and not something I can do anything about, he was nice enough to even feel bad for me afterwards)
-
I've got me and 2 friends coming. It's our first tournament.

Just some random thoughts on this topic. FFG seems different than Decipher in that every single character to get 2 seconds of time in the movies doesn't get a character but I think we may get some.
Here's my 2 cents
BIggs - Obviously a Rebel Pilot of some sort.
General Dodonna - Rebel leader. I could see him getting made.
Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru - Jedi support units maybe?
General Tagge - Imperial Navy clearly
Admiral Ozzel - How to make a card based on a guy so stupid you want to kill him yet he's still playable? Again for the Navy
I could see Ree Yees and Tessek getting made as they've had figures since the old days. Scum and Villainy needs someone beyond Jabba, Bib, Salacious and a bunch of Bounty Hunters. Maybe a Rancor Keeper that, when out, protects your side from the Rancor?
Wicket - Not sure how the Ewoks are going to work. Spread out throughout the Light Side factions or a gray series? Chief Chirpa and Logray have a shot at being made as well I'd guess.
Nien Nub - Rebel pilot or Spies and Scoundrels pilot you think?
Sim Aloo - Maybe for the Sith? He had a figure made in the old days and is the Imperial Advisor most people vaguely remember. If not him, then who else from the actual movies could you make for the Sith?
Also regular versions of Piett and Jerjerrod I would guess.
I'm going to guess if we ever get Prequels it will be the Grand Army of the Republic, The Combined Naboo Defenses, The CIS and.............can't see the Trade Federation getting their own faction but who else would you pick?
-
I am thinking 2 Madine, 2 Jan Ors (who I admit works well beefed up with the FX-7 droid) and 2 Ackbars to start. Then some decent resources/fate to balance things out.
-
A few are. They say limited.
-
Feel like this should work better. It's not so far. Do I need 2 of the transfer objective, and if so what goes?
Transdoshan Terror x2
Jabba's Reach
The Findsman's Intuition x2
The Tatooine Crash
Jabba's Orders
Hunt Them Down
Lucrative Contract
The Bespin Exchange

I don't think his complaint is that Dark Side can't keep up.
I think it's that Rebels and Jedi aren't nearly as good as Smugglers, which I agree with. -
Any thoughts on this?
The Emperor's Web
Fall of the Jedi x2
Scouring the Empire x2
The Executor Arrives x2
Agent of the Emperor x2
Counsel of the Sith
My only concern is the deck is too reliant on main characters and good spread out tactics could shut it down. It did go undefeated in my local play group at least.
-
So one of the members of my play group tried his first deck today. He asked me to post it for suggestions and feedback
Rebel Alliance
Hold the Line
To Arms
Hit and Run
Blue Squadron Support
Mission Briefing
Commando Operations x2
Forward Reconaissance
Frozen Refuge
The Rebel Fleet
I'm lost as to the deck. I think he wants to build a cheap human swarm deck. Possibly a Rebel Commando theme deck. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks. I was hoping they wouldn't run into "You don't have a Death Star dial, you're disqualified" every time. Nice to see nobody's that mean.
-
So I have myself and 2 friends wanting to start playing local tournaments and play.
But we only have 2x Core Set.
I realize we COULD just buy a third boxset but its seems sort of a waste to do that just for Death Star Dials and Force cards.
So my question is how picky are most players on this? Will they loan a Death Star dial for a match to their opponent (and the opposite side's cards) or do I have to blow the $30 on another base set (I suppose I could find someone playing on their own and go half, letting them keep the actual game play cards)
Any thoughts? I realize this is more a courtesy/rules question than a straight rules question so my bad if it needs to be in another folder.

I own everything legal so
2 x Core
2 X EOD
And 1 of everything else, inc the brand new force pack that has yet to arrive

Amusing multiplayer result

They thought it was worth it, eliminating all my units every turn.
