So I've been doing a bit of research into A-wing lists and I've been seeing alot about how Predator is a waste of points on a 2 dice attack ship, and I don't follow. Let's say for instance I've got a green squadron with PTL and Predator. How often will I need to reroll both attack dice? Having the freeroll lets me free up my actions for focus+evade/position enhancement.
Could one of the Mathwingers give me an idea as to why people are saying that?

Try this out:
Dash Rendar
-Heavy Laser Cannon
-Outrider Title
Chewbacca
-C-3P0
-Millennium Falcon Title
That leaves you with 6 points to season as you like and gives you two durable and deadly ships

I like the idea of dispersing debris fields, something to the effect of "When a ship is removed from the table, place a debris token within range 1 of its location. Remove this token at the end of the second round of combat after it is placed."
It keeps things cluttered but not at the same time.

Omg we actually got a restock of those at the store I work at recently or we'd be out of them too XD

To be fair according to the fluff, it could be new damper tech that now allows for these more stressful turns

Step 1: fly what you like.
Step 2: Become very good with what you like.
Step 3: wreck things
Nothing personal but I'm really starting to dislike this quote. Thank you for making our interests seem unimportant enough for a small piece of digital space.
I'm already at step 3. Would you like to add a step four?
Maybe something like get good at ships you don't like.
An understanding of why things are good against your selected ships is part of step 2, and if you're already wrecking things with what you've got toy around with things viewed as sub-optimal and see if you can make them work/work better.
I don't mean to offend but I don't need to fly fat Han to know what it does, I'll just fly against it.

So a snooty RAdm is a very good counter to other decimators due to his crit ability and is also good against autothruster-less interceptors.
RAdm + expose + experimental interface at a minimum, probably also Ysanne if you can spare 4 pts with the rest of the list. Rebel captive as well if you can spare another 3.
The rest of the list can be basically anything. That RAdm build dominates all three of the ships in your build. Probably not all at the same time, there's only so much one shop can do, but even adding APs to round out the points should win vs your list.
And it's also a decimator build I enjoy playing.
I've found a decked out Baron or Whisper work wonders with that Chiraneau build.

Now my question is has anyone experimented with Doughnut Hole Dash (Rendar+autoblaster turret)? I feel like getting aggressive with those barrel rolls might be fairly interesting of a way to go since they can't dodge my shots, maybe with predator for rerolls.

I've been having alot of success with
Rear Admiral Chiraneau
-Expose
-Experimental Interface (the core)
-Grand Moff Jerjerrod
-Tactician
-Mercenary Co-pilot
Soontir Fel
-Targeting Computer
-Shield Upgrade
-Push The Limit
-Royal Guard Title
Chiraneau dumps people out the doors if he needs to and no one can get Soontir in arc to hit him if they wanted to.

that was glorious

Some things that need to be kept in perspective
1. Historically speaking, combat styles that used crossguards like that used the blade as a handhold as often as the hilt, so it shouldn't necessarily be as combat effective as an actual broadsword.
2. The force is a powerful ally, and in theory would easily keep you from accidentally stabbing yourself/ whacking your wrist off with it.
3. God **** is that design sexy (I'm assuming here that the emitters for the crossguard are protected in some way from just being lopped off by the guy we're trying to block)
discuss.
-
Impractical? That crossguard looked pretty clever to me.
they don't extend to the blade, where the opposing blade will get caught the most. It will just end up striking the corner, lopping off one of the light daggers on the side, as well as a good number of fingers.
Wait. Light daggers. What if the cross guard was light daggers that could pop out and stab people with? (of course, why not just use a vibroblade or a blaster, but hey)
that
's assuming the emitters are on the outer edge of the metal for the hilt. The way I see it, the emitters are recessed into the metal, the metal's just guarding them from damage. Or the hilt could be cortosis or some other lightsaber proof material. Either way, Lightsabers with Crossguards SQUEEE

I guess what I mean to say is I'd like to see a way to have natural PS9 in ships other than what we currently have. At the same time though I don't like the way that Attack Wing does it because we get less unique pilots.
-
Would anyone else like to see it? Personally I'd like to see at least 1 more ps9 option for either side (scum not included as low ps is their thing). Maybe in the e-wing and Defender?
-
How about make it have partial piercing, so that 1 die will go through the rest hit shields, cancelling dice with shields first so that if you only sneak one hit through their evades it still lands on shields. that way b-wings aren't completely useless against it
-
So how much do you charge for commissions?
-
marksmanship and prockets only works if you have experimental interface on him
Marinealver reacted to this -
And even then, "unplayable" is a tad bit too strong when you are talking about the Advanced.
I've actually been using a tempest with a Procket to great effect, it usually gets the hate of a couple enemy ships, survives the first round of shooting, doesn't get its rocket off, then hangs around until the time is right for that rocket to hit to great effect (of course there have been outliers where it has died in the 1st round or gotten its rocket off first round, but we're talking generalizations here)

I'd say another Z-95, you can usually fit at least two of them as fill points if you need it.

That's what I mean, it frees up my PTL to be a reposition/defensive action without sacrificing my offense, so i don't understand why people seem to not like it
