  1. The moment in which you deal a Face-Up card, the opponent has a level of investment in the result.

If the crits were ALL equally terrifying, the flipping up of a Direct Hit wouldn't be as powerful an experience.

by that same token, All ships should have crits that are more terrifying to it than others. A cannon your main source of damage? Munitions Failure is one you don't wanna see. Arc Dodging for life, well I hope you don't mind losing your action bar. The way I see it, not all crits need to be scary for every ship, but every ship should have crits that they're scared of, and I can think of a couple builds that just don't need to worry about them (Chewbacca not included in that list)

  2. The way I look at it, keep the ratio of 'broad, every ship affecting' and 'specific niche' crits the same as they currently are, but add effects to the niche pool that effect the more powerful upgrade slots in the game. Maybe make the one I have in mind as broad as munitions failure, have it take out an astromech or a crew member and call it injured passenger or something

  3. Don't forget the power the ATC brings to the table. Take Vader's attack roll, you pull a hit and a blank. You could reroll with your target lock, or you could just say "Nah, hit crit" As long as you're shooting the same target, you never need to re-lock and more than half of the time you'll do better than two regular hits.

  4. Title says it all. While the damage deck is filled with awful crits that no one wants, there are also crits that almost no ship cares about. (looking at you munitions failure) That being said, does anyone think an updated damage deck would be worth it, and what would you add/subtract from the damage deck?

  5. You could also go

    Etahn

    Airen Cracken

    Bandit Squadron X2

    -Assault Missile

    Bandit Squadron

    -Ion Pulse Missile

That way you make sure at least one of the missiles fire first round of combat with TL+Focus, even if the bandit was out of TL range when it moved.

  6. Ok how about this scenario:

You've been in X tournament for seven hours now, you're in the middle of the game and you forget that the lone Z-95 that you've now allowed to flank you, because who cares about a lone Z, is actually Wedge Antilles in an X-wing who's wings were modded to be closed, and it costs you the game? Yes, it is your fault for forgetting that he was who they said he was, but at the same time I would say this is why the rules are as they stand, so my ships are easily identified by their silhouette and we can play to the best of our abilities. Does that make conversions bad? Not by any means, but in a tournament setting after several hours of play its easy to overlook small details and the less of those at the table the better for both players.

  7. Wish someone would get back to me about my enquiry. I posted pre-xmas to their email addy (from their web site) and still have nothing, no reply, zip, nada.

Not impressed. And I am wanting enough space to store what is in my sig + upcoming releases.

Decided to hold onto my money for now. When the time comes, I guess I'll give it to Battlefoam (I really really don't want to).

    Cheers

What's wrong with battlefoam? (I don't mean to start an argument here, I'm just about to start doing my own research into storage solutions and input is welcome.)

  8. *points to the nearest battlefoam case*

I'm in need of the same upgrade unfortunately, I can't fit my epic ship into my case as it is, and the raider's finally convinced me to actually play epic with the huge ships (only got the transport for the X-wing pilots and have been avoiding the CR90 because it would just be for cards until then)

  9.

The Empire has independent cells that continue to recruit and spread.

    So does the Alliance.

    A neverending thing.

The only question is, when does the galaxy care?

Hopefully the Alliance stops caring when the galaxy does, but remains vigilant.

The Empire would build up in secret and attempt a hostile takeover.

Then again, so would the Alliance if the Empire gets a foothold.

I don't know which side to choose based on actions!  Well, except, Alliance doesn't blow up inhabited planets, they just blow up inhabited artificial moon weapons that blow up inhabited planets.

    Also, Alliance has nicer people.

    "Also, Alliance has nicer people"

Nicer people?! I'm outraged sir! OUTRAGED!!! Since when were terrorists "nicer people" than good wholesome upstanding TAX PAYING citizens.....?!!

Lords alive... You blow up one little planet and the Galaxy loses its head....

Not to mention 'pilots' (I use the term loosely here)that relieve stress by attempting to murder loyal sons and daughters of the Empire?!

  10. You don't need C3P0 to run the Falcon.

Gunner or Luke Skywalker crew are a staple as you won't have many attacks, so you need to make sure they hit.

Han or Chewie are the better pilots, Lando's a bit more build-dependent.

Good second crew slot options are Chewie (if using Han as the pilot) or Nien Nunb if you are using Push the Limit as the EPT.

    Millenium Falcon title is good.

Good EPTs are Push the Limit, Predator, Veteran Instincts (only for Han), Draw their Fire (only for Chewie), Lone Wolf, Marksmanship, and even Determination.

Don't bother with the missile slot.

ETA: oh, and Engine Upgrade in the mod slot.

    But the Missile Slot! D:

  11.

ATC is by all measures worse for Vader than AC. Vader can evade, barrel roll, boost (if he gets EU), focus, all for defense. Then, no matter what, he will always roll at least 2 hits (up to 4 damage if they are crits with direct hits). Rolling the dice with AC in an Advanced serves purely to see if you can get 1 or 2 crits.

    Nope nope nope.

AC Vader gets two hits 100% of the time.

ATC Predator Vader gets one hit 1.5% of the time, two hits 9% of the time and three hits 89% of the time.

AC is superior 1.5% of the time, ATC is superior 89% of the time.

If we choose not to give Vader Predator, AC rises to being superior 6% of the time and ATC drops to being superior 56% of the time.

According to your math, obviously ATC is better for offense than AC, and will be a nightmare for damage sponges. What I'm saying is that I am more versatile and survivable with AC because no matter what I am able to use my actions for purely defensive reasons, be they arc-dodging or damage mitigation, and will be able to be a much more potent off tank/late game pilot.

  12. Wow. You are correct DraconPyrothayan, there are some surprising things there I did not notice before. Thanks.

And yeah, MegaSilver, it's me. :)

I'm on here most days but mostly lurk and post infrequently. Gotta change that soon.

Nyxen -  I have a very, very similar Horton build. I'm using Determination instead of PtL, for a few reasons. One, it's a casual get together among friends, at best. And two, I rarely use Determination (or Y-Wings for that matter) and I'm wanting to fly things I normally wouldn't.

I even have a Maarek Stele build...

Then live on the edge. run Blount with an assualt missile and wait for them all to engage, launch your assualt missile, and die horribly XD

  13. I like to run Maarek Stele in this:

    Darth Vader

    -Outmaneuvre

    -Engine Upgrade

    -Proton Rockets

    Maarek Stele

    -Push the Limits

    -Engine Upgrade

    -Proton Rockets

Tempest Squadron Pilot (I think? The lower skill Advanced)

    -Proton Rockets

You run the tempest up their nose and hope they focus it while Vader and Stele set up for an epic 1-2 combo.
