Silent Storm - Whisper + TIE Advanced list ideas/discussion
Nyxen replied to EdgeOfDreams's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
That would be me, and it was a storm squadron with a procket, Whisper with FCS, int. Agent, VI and ACD. Surprisingly enough most everyone I played rushed the advanced as the easy target and allowed Soontir and Whisper room to play. What really swept it for me though is the Intelligence Agent allowed me to out fly other phantoms that I came across. -
RZ-1 A-Wing is the ship in Rebels. Just to clear things up.

Next the star destroyer argument will be back XP

What's the best worst thing that's happened to you (or an opponent)?

In a 200 point team tournament it was down to my generic Y with an autoblaster against loaded scum Kath. The autoblaster was too much for her to handle. -
400 point Imperial "Squadrons. Squadrons everywhere."

No corrupter? -
Thanks, that makes much more sense now
-
So if I have initiative, I am then also first player as most objectives refer to?
-
I'm sorry guys, but even the paint scheme agrees, those are A-Wings. Just the same as in the previews for the season they showed us B-Wings.
-
Title says it all, I'm new to this game and not sure how it works/ who first and second player are in regards to objectives then
-
Named Pilots vs Unnamed which are better
Nyxen replied to Payens81's topic in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds
It depends on what Ships you are flying with them. If you are just using them to screen for the ships, generics are the way to go. But if you want to destroy the other guy's fighters/really ruin his ships' days, go with uniques -
So far I'm looking at Vic-II -Admiral Screed Vic-I -Assault Concussion Missiles Gladiator-I -Engine Techs -Assault Concussion Missiles -Demolisher Leaving me with room for up to 3 generic TIE Fighters with a 4 point initiative bid, or 28 points of upgrades. Which would you take in this case and why? Also, which objectives would you guys recommend?
-
Why the Vic 2 over the Vic 1, and the advanced concussion missile over the extended launcher?
-
I just wish it wasn't set up in such a way that I pay them and then are told my event's sold out. That money won't make it back to me for at least a week due to how credit refunds work.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Armada, still working on the basics and all. Given that I've only got the core, 1 Vic, 1 gladiator, and soon 2 fighter packs, what do you think of this: Vic 1: admiral screed, enhanced armaments, warlord Gladiator 1: engine techs, expanded launchers, demolisher Soontir fel+ 2 interceptors Howlrunner+ 2 tie fighters 2 tie advanced
-
When you see their formation coming in, you fly your advanced so that they engage maybe 2 squads while your other squads wipe out the others
-
EAW's DLC was such fan service though, I felt insulted by the ease of it at the end and I don't want that feeling put into a perfectly good game like armada.

How many ships do you own that you have never played?

Starviper Aggressor CR-90 GR-75 Epic play I don't like until the raider drops, and I'm still not sold on the viper even though I picked up two. The Aggressor is just because I'm getting ready for regionals and not flying brobots -
that's already the list I'm working for regionals, its just the empire doesn't have a good 30 points in it after those two

That was another adventure where he escaping a totally different exploding space station, perhaps behind the scenes in Shadows of the Empire. Or something. Yeah that's the ticket. (Do I get my no-prize now mr. Lee?) Who keeps hiring the guy who keeps building space stations with all these explode-o-matic sections? The Empire's Health & Safety department must take the longest lunch breaks in HISTORY.And once they're done looking in to that they can get to work dealing with the patently inadequate guard-rails and signage around the seemingly-endless number of bottomless pits in the Star Wars universe. The first Death Star had an unknown design flaw. Any project that big probably would, although perhaps not that catastrophic. The second would have lacked any easy point of attack, but the emperor decided to use it as bait while it was still in construction (So, like Luke said, his overconfidence was his weakness). To be fair, DS1's design flaw wasn't that catastrophic. Normally, lasers couldn't get down it due to the ray shields (Star Wars chicken wire), and snubfighter targeting computers weren't sophisticated enough to drop a torpedo down the entire length (Garvin's 'Negative, it didn't go in') It took the 1 Canon enemy force using fighter pilot in the right place at the right time, with plenty of help to keep daddy from vaping him once the threat was realized. Also 2 crew on the Falcon makes perfect sense, 1 pilot and two guns to be manned. From what I can tell in the movies the copilot was mainly a hyperspace navigator (PUNCH IT CHEWIE!!)

My group has started getting up earlier and turned 'X-wing Saturday' into 'Star Wars Saturday'. There's even a budding Age of Rebellion group forming and we go from 10 AM until usually around 6 PM or so

I'm still thinking that its in a warehouse, ready to go for when tournament season is passed so it doesn't rock the meta as regionals are going on.

Disney considering a Marvel and Star Wars TV channel
Nyxen replied to Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun's topic in X-Wing
The Empire being analogous to the Nazis is not a matter of opinion. They were quite explicitly designed as such, even down to the aforementioned use of the term, "Stormtrooper," for the Empire's elite ground forces. While later material and cultural shifts have humanised some aspects of the Empire Lucas' intent in their creation has been clearly documented. Also, and I speak as a non-US citizen, I find the comparison between the actions of the U.S. Military and those of the Nazi forces in the Second World War thoroughly offensive. The difference between imperfect and genocidal is immeasurable, not one of shades of grey. As a US Citizen, this country is becoming what Nazi Germany wanted to be, sans the genocide. -

I love how the whole Empire=Nazis crowd hasn't even touched on the US Military's... less than stellar reputation. -

I'd still like to see something from an Imperial standpoint. No lightsabers, no hokey religions, just the crew of an ISD making the Outer Rim a safer place. Stormtroopers are people too -
isn't it in the rules that you're allowed to measure your deployment with any tools given (I.E. the range ruler/maneuvre templates)? I don't see this as much different as long as it stays in the deployment
