Thanks for all the feedback. I was considering using Engine Upgrade on the Advanced, but I can see that it's better fitting for the shuttle. But mostly I'm glad the list was not slaughtered right out the door.

I have no idea if it is any good or not, I haven't taken them out for a spin yet . I put it there to get rid of target locks mostly. But there might be better suited EPT's out there perhaps stay on target, or as you said veteran instincts. Or drop it and change Vessery to brath to have the possibility of more crits against anti crit ships, if that works at all.

So I put together the following list for you guys to pick apart. Colonel Jendon (26) +ST-321 +anti pursuit laser (2) +rebel captive (3) = 34 Maarek Stele (27) +Tie/X1 (0) +Advanced Targeting Computer (1) + Expert Handling (2) = 30 Colonel Vessery (35) +Veteran instincts (1) =36 == 100 The Idea is for Jendon to hand out previus target locks to Stele, and then take a new one. Then Vessery shoots the targe and gains target lock as well. And after that Stele comes in to shoot and hopefully most of the shields and focus/evades are gone so the critt effect is maximised. Edit: spelling & wording.

I tried. It did not stick. She tells me its because there were to much going on at once. So we play Dungeon Command, netrunner and other boardgames as well as D&D. So can't complain too much.

How about a more unlikely IP say Starfox?

I would like to thank you all for the feedback, and I have decided to buy the lambda first, then I'll follow up with the decimator when funding can be obtained.

Thanks for all the great advice, I'll sleep on it (lives in Norway). And then decide tomorrow. Perhaps a dream will tell me what I want to know. But know that I will be getting one of each large ship as well. The question is only, what to get first.

I'm debating whether or not to buy either a Decimator or a Lambda shuttle as my first big ship. The reason for this is simple availability. I live in Norway and with a population of 5-6 million people the local companies are a bit carefull about what they import of new untested stuff. So far I have been collecting 1 of each small ship +aces packs. And I want one of each large one. I postponed buying those until I had most of the small ones. And now that I do, well it's time to look at large ships as well. And I was wondering, which one is the most fun for cassual play? I have heard a lot of cool stuff about the great white whale of the stars, but what about the decimator is it any fun? I have a friend who got the YT-2400 for christmas so I'll most likely be squaring of against one of those sometime soon. Oh and bear in mind that for actuall prices the decimator will cost me about 50% more than the Lambda, or a small ship.

I might, but I would mostly go for prepainted. Because well I'm lazy.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll do it like this. Play introduction rules once. Play introduction setup with core sett once. You know, the one with low level pilots. Play introduction setup with two core sets. It should scale the dificulty quite nicely. After that I guess we could start experimenting. If I haven't scared him of.

So I plan on introducing a friend to the hobby. But I'm quite new myself, so I figured I could ask you guys for some help creating two fairly equal armies to combat each other. Difference in tactics is to be expected. But I would like each of them to have a fighting chance against the other. What I got access to is as follows: Core sett x2 Rebel aces (a-wing + b-wing). Tie Defender. Suggestions are quite welcome as well.

I know this is a farshot. But is there any of you on this forum that plays X-wing in Tønsberg, a town in Norway? And if this post is discovered far later than its posting date, feel free to PM me, or answer. I'm always glad to meet other board game enthusiasts nearby.
