So I'm going to a lowkey tournament at my local store. And I was wondering about this list.
Tie Advanced - Darth vader 29pts+Outmaneuver 3pts
+Engine Upgrade 4pts
Tie Interceptorp - Soontir Fel 27pts
+Push the Limit 3pts
+Autothrusters 2pts
Tie Interceptors - Carnor Jax 26pts
+Push the Limit 3pts
+Autothrusters 2pts
Total 99pts.
Alternatives I have considered is to drop enigne upgrade on vader and changing outmaneuver to calculation. And then giving Carnor and Soontir stealth device.
Any thoughts?

So with all the shipping trouble in the US a confused Norwegian gamer is wondering if this will affect European shipping at all. Or if stuff will be held back so it lands about the same time.
Anyone have any answers?
-
That actually makes sense, not only because I agree. But they are the only small empire ships that does not have expanded options in another expansion. Well asside from the Tie Phantom that is. But let's face it that ship is not in need of a fix anytime soon.
-
What I really want for the defender is more cool pilots. Perhaps a level4/5 generic with an EPT. And a named pilot or two.

I have a friend with access to a 3D printer, and I live in Norway so almost all acrylic tokens becomes twice as expensive when I want to get them shipped here... I agree that acrylics look way better.
And Gamblertuba those are good looking, but I was looking for more "flatt" ones and the actuall printing instructions. -
I like X-wing it is simple enough to understand in a sitting. But it is deep enough to suport longterm compettative play. And yet it is at its best when you play with friends. And it has helped me expand my social circle.
-
Does anyone know of any plans for 3D printed tokens out there?

So I have constructed two escalation lists for teaching new players X-wing. I based it on the core sett, but you will need a few more ships than that. It's splitt into four rounds and gradually introduces new ellements for the new guy to learn and master.
Round 1:
Imperial: 25pts
1x Academy pilot (Tie Fighter).
1x Obsidian squadron (Tie Fighter).
Rebels: 21pts
1x Rookie pilot (X-wing)
Idea: Basic barebones X-wing for learning what stuff is.
Round 2:
Imperial: 46pts
1x Academy pilot (Tie Fighter).
1x Obsidian squadron (Tie Fighter).
1x Saber Squadron (Tie Interceptor).
Rebels: 43pts
1x Rookie pilot (X-wing)
1x Blue Squadron (B-wing)
Idea: Basic X-wing that also introduce ships with new says to move.
Round 3:
Imperial: 49pts
1x Academy pilot (Tie Fighter).
1x Obsidian squadron (Tie Fighter).
1x Saber Squadron (Tie Interceptor) + Push the limit.
Rebels: 50pts
1x Rookie pilot (X-wing) + R2-D2
1x Blue Squadron (B-wing) + Advanced sensors
Idea: Introducing and showcasing how upgrades can transform and enhance various ships.
Round 4:
Imperial: 100pts
3x Academy pilot (Tie Fighter).
1x Backstabber (Tie Fighter).
2x Saber Squadron (Tie Interceptor) + Push the limit.
Rebels: 100pts
1x Rookie pilot (X-wing)
1x Bigs Darklighter (X-wing) + R2-D2
2x Blue Squadron (B-wing) + Advanced sensors
Idea: Fully fledged lists with ships the player should now know and be familiar with. As well as introducing pilot powers.
I'm not a 100% sure about how good the imperial list is in showcasing the difference in their ships, or how balanced it is toward the rebel list.I also have no idea when to introduce asteroids. Although it should either be at the end when the new player has started understanding movement. Or early so that they will learn to live with them right out the door.

Personally I don't think we will see a effective Z-95 swarm untill we get some new named pilots for the ship. Cracken's ability is good, but not effective in a large group. Blount's is awesome for a "single" guy. But not group friendly. I'm not even going to speculate what those powers are going to end up being. But they should affect multiple ships.
-
So I realised, the wording of Lieutenant Blount is:
When attacking, the defender is hit by your attack, even if he does not suffer any damage.
And the Ion Pulse Missile text reads:
Attack [Target Lock]: Discard this card to perform this attack. If the attack hits, the defender suffers 1 damage and receives 2 ion tokens. Then cancel all dice results. Attack: 3. Range 2-3.
That means that all you have to do with blount is to survive long enough to fire that one missile and you have sucsefully Ioned that large ship you wanted to move that one foreward... You don't need to hit with any dice, since all that is required is that you hit. And you are guaranteed to hit with Blount.
It is a one shot, but a guaranteed one shot that will do what you want.
-
Thank you, I was not sure that was how it worked, so better ask then build a list that does not work as intended.
-
So say I have a unmodified phantom, and a Lambda opperated by Colonel Jendon, and he passes his target lock on to the phantom. Can the phantom spend it during combat provided he is within range and has the target in sight? He lacks the target lock action, but he now has target lock....
-
Thanks. I plan on using it on certain B-wings who enjoy the stress quite a lot.
-
So yeah, I was wondering, if I have push the limit. And advanced sensors. Could I do two actions before I move?
-
Might I sugest Lego?

-
Thanks for all the feedback, and yeah, I saw the distance marker holder, it was my inspiration for this as well as my Netrunner card divider.
I have heard of mobile Frame Zero, but I haven't found the people to play with either...
-
So I made a Lego storage for my movement dials. One holds 14 dials. And what took the most time was of course digging through my crate of Lego to find the right pieces.

I notice a trend of wife praise here. I like it. I have mentioned before that mine plays other games with me. But I have to give her creds for allowing our wedding pictures to be Star Wars themed (pic bellow). I jokingly said that we could use my lightsabers for the picture, and she agreed so fast. And we had a huge nerd wedding with Lego cake and batman napkins etc etc.

Thank you for all the advice. At the moment I have no pressing concerns. I was just wondering if there was anything important to remember as I have never hosted a tournament of any kind before.
-
So me and a fellow player is talking about hosting a local tournament at the FLGS later this year. And I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions and advice for undertaking something like this.
-
Me and one other player from Norway figured it was about time we started finding players in our home county. So if you live in Vestfold Norway feel free to become a member of this group.
Random city names to help people find this post: Holmestrand, Horten, Larvik, Sandefjord, Stavern, Tønsberg and Åsgårdstrand.

I am entertaining the idea of even buying Harry Potter legos or figures to attach to some Litko bases for full on Harry Potter wizard wars.
A quiditch variant of the rules would be interesting.

Bossk Arc?

So I was reading the rules for the hound's tooth arc on the little pamphlet that came with the ship, and I got the impression that his 180 degree arch fired through the rear. Did I missinterpret the infographic or does he indeed fire out his ass just as the slave one.
