  1. What do you guys think oft an escalation list starting with - Colonel Vessery, HLC - Dark Curse, TC I was pretty succesful against a super Han list for the first two rounds of escalation, but I am not aure whether it was primary because of luck / Bad flying from my opponent...
  2. Congrats! It's really a nice Feeling going to a tourney for the first time, and directly grabbing a win ;-) Thanks for your Report, I really enjoyed reading it.
  3. Ok so I really have to test this one. Could really be a lot of fun, especially because I dont think, that anybody expects something like that. How do 4 Bs stand up against a swarm? I guess that 1 agility is really gonna hurt? @Rhinoviro: So what would your Kath loadout look like? 10 Points to spare...hm..Expert Handling, Gunner, Seismic Charge?
  4. @DoubleNot7: I never claimed to be the winner, I was just looking for advice on a potentially game winning squad.... @Parakitor: So the idea against big ships would be to ion them off board? Otherwise I think I will have a hard time getting enough damage Output out of 4 Ion cannons to destroy an YT over the course of a game...
  5. Hi Folks, I'm gonna attend the local Version of the Imdaar Alpha Tournament in May and though there is still a lot time left, I'm toying around with potential squads. As a diehard Imperial Player, I definitly want to field an Imperial squad, but I'm absolutly not keen on playing a Swarm. So the Task at hand, is the creation of a competitive, non swarm, imperial List with the potential to win the tourney. As everybody around here is absolutly crazy about the possibility to win one of the Wave 4 ships, I'm pretty sure that imperial TIE Swarms, XXBB Lists and YT 1300 will dominate the meta completly with only a handfull "experimental" squads mixing the field. So my idea was to create a list which should be strong especially against those types of builds. Unfortunately there seem to be very little common weaknesses between YTs, Swarms, and B-Wing builds. Normally I'm playing various Firespray-Interceptor combinations and generally had great success against any type of XXBB build as I was normally able to outmaneuver the low Pilot skill Bs. On the other hand those builds generally have a hard time against those pesky YTs and their easy-mode playstyle. My experience against swarms is very limited, I only played once against a swarm with the Baron's Focus list, and got lucky that my Opponent tried to hunt down the Baron and really had a hard time keeping pace with the Interceptor and staying in Formation at the same time. So really any suggestions or hints would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  6. Personally I dont think this list would be overly competitive. The main Problem is the lack of firepower in this squad. Granted Vader with Cluster Missiles could potentially do a lot of damage to 1-Agility ships like B-Wings and Falcons, but after that, you're stuck with only two attack dice, and without an EU Vader will lack the ability to boost in range 1 constantly. From my experience in a three ship list, you will want to have three heavy hitters, so I would recommend changing Vader to a Inteceptor, though this would further increase your vulnerability. But I guess that's always the case with only three ships.. So for Vaders 35 Points, you could swap in Soontir Fel with PTL, Stealth and a Target Computer. This would greatly increase your damage Output, while still beeing rather defensive with the Action stacking ability of Fel.
  7. Slightly out of Topic, but I had great sucess with the following list. - OGP Shuttle with EU, Rebell Capitve, Sensor Jammer, - Soontir Fel with Stealth, PTL & TC - Carnor Jax with PTL + Shield Upgrade With this three ship list, you want your to be on the board as long as possible, and Sensor Jammer helps a lot. Carnor Jax can shut down Focus Actions in range one, and the stress resulting from Rebell captive helps limiting enemy movement, so Soontir can really shine with his TC and generally Focus stacked attacks. Only problem is, that you have to fly really carefully to avoid getting your Interceptors killed, but thats a general weakness of all Interceptor builds. In Terms of surviveability shield upgrade on Jax really helps a ton, especially against YTs..
  8. OK thanks guys. After Fielding the second list in a test game this evening against XXBB I'm really sold on this squad. I was pretty easily able to outmaneuver my opponent and finally only lost the BH while both Soontir and the RG were unharmed. Although the gunner kickt in only once, I can und er stand that its a better Option than Recon Spec. Thanks a lot!
  9. Thanks for your reply, Pete. The problem with gunner on the BH is that I dont think it will kick in often, especially against, B-Wings, YT, and other low agility ships. Furthermore in my experience the Recon Spec. greatly helps enhancing the BH surviveabilty. On the other hand, with a three ship list I cannot afford my BH to miss any shots, so adding the Gunner could be solid.... still pretty difficult choice. I agree, that PTL + TC is absolutly great, because it practically gives you the opportunity to go "all in" on an already hurt ship, with lesser Pilot skill, but it is definitly not an Option for most part of the game, as my primary focus has to be keeping my ships alive....
  10. Hi Folks, I'm gonna participate in a tourney next week and so far, I can't decide on which squad to take. First one is: - Omicron Shuttle + APL - Soontir + PTL + Stealth + Target Computer - Backstabber - Saber + PTL + Target Computer or: -BH + Recon + APL - Soontir + Stealth + Target + PTL - Royal Guard + PTL + Target Problem with the first list, is that I don't seem to get much value out of the shuttel. In most cases the Lambda goes down in the first round of combat, but it has three ships to compensate, and if my Opponent focuses fire on the shuttle, the rest of my squad survives significantly longer, so I am mostly fine with that. The BH in the second list brings a lot more to the table compared to the Lambda, but I really worry that three ships might not be enough in a competitive Environment, where I will face a lot of B-Wing heavy lists... Any advice on those issues?
