Shutting Down Where to GO?
Whingewood replied to IceHot42's topic in Marvel Champions: The Card Game
I'm also pretty sad to see the forums go. While I don't contribute with posts as much as I'd like, I do enjoy reading the discussions that take place. Maybe I'm just old and stuck in my ways, but forums are my preferred medium for discussion. I'm not a fan of Facebook, I really dislike Discord (it's basically just a chat room from the 90s), Reddit seems okay, and I've had mixed experiences with BGG. I guess we could start using the forums on cardgamedb? -

This week we are playing against Red Skull. With his own side scheme deck, he can easily overwhelm heroes. Taking him on would be Ms. Marvel (Aggression), Ant-Man (Justice), Hulk (Leadership), and Black Widow (Protection). Which hero would get the most wins? https://tabletoptimesinks.com/2020/12/13/showdown-9-red-skull/ -
Sleeves, Clumping and Percentages
Whingewood replied to darthweasel2's topic in Marvel Champions: The Card Game
Because I usually play a lot of games in a row (typically 5), I try to make sure I've given the decks a good shuffle. Usually overhand shuffle followed by a pile shuffle (not really a proper shuffle, I know), then some more overhand. Definitely helps avoid clumping. -

We start season 2 of our Showdown series by taking on Rhino. To make things a bit more interesting we would be using the Running Interference encounter module. Against Rhino would be Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Captain America! https://tabletoptimesinks.com/2020/12/06/showdown-8-rhino/ -

Hulk is considered by many to be the weakest Hero released so far (an opinion we share), but does that mean that he isn't fun to use? In this article I play 30(!) games with a Hulk Leadership deck, making modifications along the way, in order to try and have some fun using the big green guy. https://tabletoptimesinks.com/2020/11/25/deck-development-hulk-friends/ -

Changing heroes that have been badly received?
Whingewood replied to Humantorch101's topic in Marvel Champions: The Card Game
There are so many different things that they could have done with Hulk. What we got is a character that doesn't play how I think that a lot of us think that Hulk should play. I've been playing with him recently on Standard difficulty (my default is Expert) and I've had some enjoyable games. In my opinion, Hulk is the weakest hero released so far, but there is still some fun to be had using him. -

Mutagen Formula, considered by some to be the hardest scenario printed so far. In our second Showdown of our Season 1, we take on that scenario with Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and Thor. We decided that RoRS and Kang would make too many villains for us to continue the second part of the Character Focus articles in the same way as we were. Instead, we are going to make sure that characters are still used but as part of the Showdown series (although not Black Widow this season, haha). -

Hi everyone, I've been playing loads of Marvel Champions since release and have decided to start writing articles again. This weekend I have published two articles, one about Doctor Strange (Leadership) and the other about Thor (Justice). Please take a look and let me know what you think!
