  1. Hey guys Was thinking go running whisper and a mini swarm as support at an upcoming tournament but was having trouble deciding between these two options: Howl runner Dark curse 2x obsidians Or 5x academy pilots They come out to the same points and both serve the purpose, rush at the opponent and give whisper an opportunity to flank. Howl runner gives more reliable offence, I love dark curses resilience and the obsidians also have increased resilience from not being predatored. Or is 5 ships just better than 4?
  2. Has anyone had success with dual Decimators lists? Was thinking something like: RAC- expose, rebel captive, ysanne isard Patrol leader- vader crew Patrol leader with vader can deal, with interceptors, while rac puts out a lot of damage himself
  3. I've used serisue with ptl in turret swarm lists. With Hawks and zs and y wings. She can fly slow with them, focus evade or tl. And buff a couple of the other ships. I think the trick is to keep them cheap. They aren't actually good at taking cannons. Way to fragile and pay a 2 point tax
  4. So if the tie engine upgrade does turn all banks into green maneuvers, the tie advanced gains another 4 greens bringing it up to 8 in total. With such a dial do you guys feel like putting ptl on vader to give him three actions a turn along with the advanced targeting computer a worth while investment? This could also be asked of any of the other named advanced pilots who can take an ept. Focus/evade with AC, FCS or ATC could be a really good combo on them
  5. Just moved to Boston and was looking for a gaming group to join.
  6. Was thinking of organizing a tournament with no named pilots or crew members or unique cards. I was wondering how the meta would change for this type of environment, would the 4 B list be king? What would you guys bring? I was thinking either: 2x royal guard ties -PTL, auto thrusters, and stealth device Patrol leader Could also take out the patrol leader for some combination of 3 ties Or just because I love A wings: 4x Green squadron -PTL, auto thrusters, preditor, refit, and a wing test pilot What do you guys think about the no unique concept?
  7. I think super dash may actually work better with A wings that can keep up with him. Dash -HLC, outrider, PTL, Kyle katarn 2x Green squadron -test pilot, refit, PTL, VI, auto thrusters I feel with this setup, the A wings are just as survivable as b wings if played properly. Either taking focus/evade, or boosting to avoid arcs. You also have flexibility of taking focus/TL if you know no one is shooting at you that round. Auto thrusters are also a free evade against a turret filled meta. They are less Killy but way more manuevarable and potentially even more survivable if played properly than Blues, the higher PS is also a nice boost
  8. Do you guys ever play on Thursday nights?
  9. Like the list, I also prefer predator/ outmaneuver instead of expose. I find you get more use out of them. I like the greens with ptl and VI, they are are dodgers and benefit from the extra PS when it comes to getting out of line of sight or boosting into someone's side arc or range 1.
  10. Practice against dual turret lists, fat turret and escort and triple interceptor/ duel interceptors + phantom.
  11. Giving up the astromech is the balancing feature. Like missiles on the a wing was. It may not benefit the named pilots but it would bring the unnamed pilots closer in line with the z95s. The PS boost would also help the unnamed e wing pilots, who in theory should be beefy arc dodgers.
  12. I'm sure we've all seen the b wing dominate the board when it comes to small rebel ships. I hardly ever see the x and e wings and do face the occasional y wings. One other thing that these three ships have in common is the droid slot. So I propose an easy solution to rebalance these ships with the b wing is to introduce a droid with a negative points cost and a possible buff. For example, the droid costs -1 point and increases PS by +1. This makes a rookie pilot two points cheaper than a blue b wing and gives one additional PS. From a fluff perspective this doesn't have to be a droid, could be removal of droid space on the ship which reduces weight and aerodynamics and therefore increases PS. Any thoughts on this? Should the cost decrease be more drastic or the buff better?

    Tyco or Jake?

I've found a niche list using both that has done very well for me in the past 6 games, I've played variants of it but the final came down to: Jake Farrell -refit, test pilot, ptl, vi, auto thrusters Tycho celchu -refit, test pilot, ptl, vi, auto thrusters Corran -fcs, ptl, r2 These three have encredible pilot skill at 8, 9, 10. Have encredible manuvearability and action economy, r2 gives corran 9 green maneuvers. The a wings do really well at arch dodging as they generally move last and I've found a focus, evade ptl action with 3+ green dice works really well defensively. Auto thrusters really help against turrets and hlcs at range three. It's challenging to fly well but I find it trolls the current meta pretty well.

  15. I've had a lot of initial success with this list in my first three games so I thought I'd share. Corran -push the limit, fire control system, r2 astromech Jake Farrell -ptl, outmaneuver, refit, a wing test pilot Thyco celchu -ptl, predator, refit, a wing test pilot These three guys can comfortably push the limit each turn, corran has 9 greens with the r2 droid. I can stay out of people's arcs very easily with the high pilot skill and can always focus evade for extra defense. I haven't faced a turret list yet, which may pose a challenge but, so far I'm surprised at how little damage I've taken. Anyone else have success with this type of list?
