  1. Hello, I have a tournament soon and I cannot decide which of these two lists to play. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Here is a wave 4 tournament list that does well against phantoms, and against falcons. Initially I was looking for an imperial based list revolving around a firespray with a mini swarm, but I found that the humble y wing fills the role of the phantom counter better than the firespray. So I tinkered with some builds I found online and ended up with a build that Theorist posted on Team Covenant which was 2 adv sensor, hlc, engine upgraded b wings and an engine upgraded, ion turret y wing. It flew very well against falcon lists as expected, and i went about 50/50 vs phantom lists. My issue was if the phantom player target prioritized well the y wing could be dead before it can get a shot on a phantom due to it being a gold squadron pilot. So I considered my options (specifically the same list with roark instead of a y wing), but I felt it came up short due to the fact that low ps pilots just aren't that good at repositioning. Anyways here is what I came up with:

    • Flechette Torpedos
    • Engine Upgrade

    Airen Cracken

    • Ion Pulse Missile
    • Veteran Instincts

    Tala Squadron Pilot (x3)

     

    So let me know what you think! If someone has already posted this please let me know as I don't want to steal anyone's thunder... I am fairly locked in to the Horton and Airen, but I am unsure about my upgrade choices, specifically taking Talas over Bandits and an engine on Airen (Horton wouldn't get torps).   


  3. I honestly don't play Rebels ever, but upon purchasing an Ewing to ease my OCD completionist side I realized that Etahn would be absolutely deadly in my local area in the escalation format. I have a tournament with some pretty excellent prize payouts coming up (Tantives, transports, etc.) and I really want to come up with a optimized anti-meta list.

    So to begin here is the local meta for escalation as far as I can tell from seeing people playtest recently.
    1) Swarms (they are pretty great in escalation)
    2) Phantom (usually echo with some upgrades) and an interceptor (I think) @ 60
    3) Elite Falcon builds with some small ship support
    4) Bounty Hunters (didn't get a good look at the couple guys running these as they were only playing 60 points, but they both had Rebel Captives
    5) Elite Xwing builds

    So here is what I have come up with after reading some posts on these forums and a few blogs.

    The only thing I can see possibly changing is swapping out Backstabber for an Academy Pilot and 2 Seismic Charges to get a bit more control and some anti swarm, I really don't think that there is a right answer here, but it will come down to who my opponent is!

    The idea is Whisper is a huge pain in the backside to kill. 60 points the Academy Pilot is the obvious target just to try to pin down Whisper. My only real hard counters here are those Bounty Hunters with Rebel Captives and perhaps a Han + Gunner build, but I think that Whisper should take out an elite falcon pretty easily if the dice gods don't decide otherwise. After this it is just a matter of making juicy targets that can take down Whisper's hard counters.

    Something I am playing around with is swapping Backstabber out for an Academy Pilot and grabbing Seismic Charges on the Firesprays. This would add a bit more control, but I am not sure if it makes up for losing Backstabbber. Thoughts?

    What's your local Meta like?

    Oh, and definitely drop the Shield upgrade from the Interceptor to give your Omicron an Engine Upgrade. Dude friggen NEEDS it.

     

    My local meta has a lot of 4X, XXBB, and Falcon lists. I didn't even think to throw that on the shuttle I'll try it out thanks!

    What if I dropped the Hull and the Intel Agent instead of the Shield? I have found that if I play a flanking Interceptor list like this he takes a crit far too often as the first hit.
