When his training was nearly completed when Yanibar was visited by a pair of Imperial Inquisitors who discovered of the existence of the Zeison Sha from the Jedi archives. Soon the planet came under Imperial control. Durrak and others went in to hiding and took part of a resistance of Imperial occupation. When the Empire fell live went back to normal on Yanibar. Durrak decided to go off world to make sure the Imperial threat was gone. In his travels he learned the the Empire was lead by a Sith Lord. During the occupation Durrak developed a hatred of the Empire and all it was. He was now determined to destroy anything associated with the Sith and the Empire.
