So, the Space terrorists are driving a technical, transporting a farm boy radicalized into an ancient and often violent religion by a military strike.....
****, this is getting into uncomfortable territory fast.

Looking good.  Digging the options for the Occupier, and I love that the space terrorists,  I mean, Rebels, are getting a technical.

**** that base is long! And it seems like it will be able to do a free pivot before a standard move meaning it will be a lot more nimble than one might expect. And from what I understand it can carry Vader into battle. Even with only speed 1 it will move quite far based on its large base alone. Remains to see what the rules for transporting units will be like.

I like it! Very rebel in my opinion  Shame they didn't spoil any of the weapon upgrades though. But I can see this as simply being a cheap way to slingshot Luke into combat with some poor enemy unit.

Legion Army List Builder, on iOS, is excellent. They’ve been doing a good job keeping it up to date. And aside from being a good list builder they’ve got a well organized library of key words, command cards, and other useful info.

I generally used a steady advance with softening the enemy with long-range shots. Scouts and Snowtroopers were used as Rapid Reinforcements whenever possible (2 out of 3 games ). Otherwise, they are pretty good at advancing up the field, as they have heavy cover on demand thanks to Duck and Cover  Also, I noticed people tend to ignore them in favour of other targets (especially when Snows are nearby), because they don't look threatening. And then they get 8 black dice to the face
With the bikes, I tried to keep them until last on turn one and the launch them early turn two with Veers command card.  They can quickly cover a lot of distance to attack from an unexpected angle, and with 2 squads you have very good firepower and decent survivability. However, when playing them be aware that they will be dead by the end of the game. They need to disrupt the enemy line or, if you have room for that, attack along a flank and then take the enemy from behind.

I like the idea of multiple factions within a faction.
I have children that attend a school for children with special needs. They have "Family Fun Days" a couple times a month. Last school year I introduced Imperial Assault (simplified rules) to the kids and it was a hit. So much I had to buy an entire second collection. This school year I introduced Legion (simplified rules) and I paint each squad differently to allow for 4 player games.
These games have created a small gaming community for the children and has helped them socially. Also it has created a new wave of Star Wars fans and that is always a plus.

If you want to model with wood, I'd recommend bass wood. It is easy to find (at most hobby stores), and if you get access to a laser cutter, you can really make the details pop. Even without, it will hold up far better than balsa.

Some updates on my sniper nest. Finishing up the top before adding the legs on.
First I bought some burlap woven ribbonn at the hobby store and hot glued it to the roof and sides.

Then I used some foliage/ground cover to finish the camouflage netting. The pics here aren't dry, so it's a mess everywhere. I'll seal it later this afternoon and be done with the main platform.

My week was severely derailed and I didn't really get much of anything done, but I did manage to put together a little sniper's nest for commandos/scouts. This is the nest and I'll build the leg frames tomorrow, I think the platform will be exactly within height 1. You can fit 4 troopers in it, so it could hold 2 sniper strike teams, if you so choose, or stuff most of your squad in the nest.
Next steps are to add some camo netting and some flock/foliage. I'm gonna rely on that to blend it and not worry about painting.
To the posts above, I started on my swamp idea, but scaled it down dramatically. I did paint my crashed escape pod, though. I'll do some work on it and post some pics.

    My speeder bikes! Riders TBD.
Added silver highlights and weathering, also some silver on the edges for an effect of chipped paint or exposed metal beneath. Decided to paint the whole area of the instrument panel black/gunmetal and touched the control components with some silver. Dry brushed some weathering on the whole bike and on the seat to make it look more like worn-down leather.

I put a small bit of blue tack on the first weapon i use and push it in hard. Leave it a bit and then remove the weapon. The blue tack should have stuck to the at-rt not the weapon leaving you able to replace weapons at will. Even if the blue tack comes off its fine you just put it onto the next weapon. So to summarise: blue tack

For a rookie I must say that your Luke looks great. I know in most cases I tend to shy away from the Commanders until I find a groove and feel comfortable painting the mniatures.
I really like the theme of your movement tools. Very Imperial looking.
Look forward to seeing more posts.

Not sure if I'm going to keep up with Legion.  It's a great game, but I haven't played in ages and even when I do, it seems like its only against other Imperial players.  In any case, I wasn't going to quit without at least getting these guys done.
    Papa Palpatine!

Regardless, this is kind of the end of the core material, and I thought that deserved a group shot:

This is my first time painting any miniatures, and I didn't want to break the bank with the more expensive model paints. So I went to Hobby Lobby and got some Folk Art acrylics. Then I ordered a Citadel shade set from Amazon, and I also picked up a bottle of Lahmian Medium for thinning the acrylics.
Big thanks to Sorastro, without whose videos I wouldn't have known where to start.
