Savate reacted to Shanturin in Hoth Gambit
I've been theorycrafting some Hoth-themed lists and with the idea discussed in generals forum of combining MkII blasters' Fire Support with Leia's Coordinated Bombardment. This resulted in some fun list:
    Commanders:
    - Leia Organa (90) + Improvised Orders (10) + Esteemed Leader (5) = 105
    Corps:
    - 3x Mark II Medium Blaster Trooper (38) = 114
    - 3x Rebel Veterans (48) + Rebel Comms Technician (9) + Recon Intel (2) + HQ Uplink (10) = 207
    Special Forces:
    - 2x Rebel Commandos Strike Team (16) + DH-447 Sniper (28) = 88
    Support:
    - 3x Tauntaun Riders (90) + Tenacity (4) = 282

    Total: 796/800

Commands: Ambush (1), Coordinated Bombardment (1), No Time for Sorrows (2), Push (2), Covering Fire (3), Assault (3), Standing Orders (4)

The goal is to set up savage alpha strike with CB's RRBBBB shots, followed by snipers to pick off the leftovers. You get 7 orders and 3 dodges on Veterans out in first turn, so Vet's can just move and recover, setting up second turn, on which you play NTfS, pushing the Tauntauns (and giving them dodges) for an equally savage followup. Then, you just pray you have enough steam left to get the points on scenario

This week I've got a somewhat atypical post in which I bare my soul a bit and talk about how I went 0-5 in Invader League season 3 with a stubbornly off-meta list, and what I learned about failure and the meta along the way.

I'd love to see more campaign games or scenarios introduced.  To be honest, I picked up the AT-ST Down because I thought it was a neat terrain piece, and that's it.  I'm glad I did, though, because the scenarios are great.  Played the first one, and it was all sorts of fun.  Can't wait to play the second.  I hope they release more terrain pieces/campaign scenarios in the future, perhaps a Clone Wars "Gunship Down" version.

Savate reacted to That Blasted Samophlange in Rebel Veterans - Efficiency Analysis
This is a very well thought out analysis that many will find useful.   I have some issues though, admittedly they are a personal case. - First any analysis like this that focuses on math doesn't jive with me.  Breaking down units to math and percentages isn't how I choose to play - I play what looks cool to me.  I feel it ruins the spirit of the game to choose which units you field based on a chart.
    - Second, again slightly math related, but my dice rolls NEVER correlate to these percentages.   I can roll an inordinate amount of blanks on rolls that I shouldn't, and some how pull off impossible rolls at other times.  In this way, the dice gods mock me.   Like Odysseus angered Poseidon, so have I angered Polyhedra..
All in all, you did a good job, but doesn't work for me.  While it is a quote that is specific to flying, I think there are many aspects that fit here:
“You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the airwhen she oughtta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.”
I feel the similar to Legion units.   No matter how many times people tell me Vader is bad, I still enjoy having him and he Does very effective things.

After a while without posting, here is my rebs army painted so far.

Still need to complete Pathfinder and a full squad of Commando, and I should receive 2 X-34 this week... And perhaps I will add a Wookie Warriors in the mix (I have a box under my desk since... I don't know where).

    Sorry for bad pic quality...

Enjoy, and stay in touch in the next.... 6 months

Me again. After the event of November, 25th in Paris, I am scolding every other minis of other games I have to focus only on Legion (gosh I love this game)
Here I come with a finish Palpatine. Something went bad with "matte varnish", more like "Satine" one. But eh, the Man is done.

And I started his own personal guards.

Almost done one of the four (need to base it, matte varnish it and glossy the helmet, and perhaps gloves and boots!)

After them, I'm going to clean the last 6 dudes of my Rebels list (my saboteurs). And then, my imps list (I'm going for a "close combats" army with them. No bike, no veers, only 1 dlt-19... Let's get some business done!)
    The Force guides you well!

    Hello all !

Back again after side event in Paris, Espace Charenton, where I ended up first (well, first because of points. We never actually play a last 4th game to determine which would have been the first player) with my Rebs list

One of my price was this Palpatine, which is a lovely mini to paint (painted it yesterday evening, really smooth mini) :

Next step is doing a clean bases, adding some dust to lower robes of the Emperor (the man himself) and I think he is done.

After that, I have to end my 3 Protons Charges Saboter weapon teams, and my 800pts (a little bit more) of rebs are done. I will then switch to an Empire list (with snowtrooper, guards, etc :p).

    Hope you'll enjoy it
    Cya :3

I have finished painting the X-34 Landspeeder I bought last month. It was a bblast painting it up. I used an airbrush for the speeder and painted up the figures by hand. The two at the back are sooo cool. Best model so far FFG!
I have a lot of pictures of this and other models on my blog, make sure to check it out: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/06/x-34-landspeeder-painted.html

Here are some pictures of one of my Legion tables. This is the Liquid Kyber Refinery where Kyber Crystals are processed to liquid form to fuel a Death Star. I know it's not really canon but I already had all of these terrain pieces so I wanted to pull them all together for this table. Most of the terrain pieces are by Micro Art Studio but the Toxic Kyber Basins are scratch made by me.

I haven't shared my AT-RT's here yet. I finished them some time ago. I bought to core box sets so I also have two AT-RT's. they really are the workhorse of my army and I field them regurarly. Because I have two and they have the same pose I did some minor converting. A headswap and changed the angle of the arm. Different paint scheme for the pilots and they are done. More pictures and some insights how to use them in games on my blog: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/01/rebel-at-rt-painted.html

Every army needs an inspiring leader and Luke Skywalker is just that. I started a bit later I started a little bit later with Legion but I'm happy can start fielding him now. From the battle reports I 've been watching I reckon he is quite a wrecking ball. One of the most debated unit's in the game undoubtedly is the T-47 airspeeder. It's high point cost, average damage output and the fact it dies fairly quickly has many players on the internet say you shouldn't use one in a competitive list. Sadly I haven't used mine in any games yet because I always put my points in other units. Nevertheless, I had great fun painting mine and surely I will use it in a game one day.
Have a look at my blog for more pictures and info: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/01/t-47-airspeeder-painted.html

Have recently got into Star Wars legion and started painting the minis, I have always hated doing eyes and try to avoid where possible as I always seem to mess them up. (not enough practice). So I decided to not paint in the eyes on Emperor Palpatine. But when finished I think he needs them. What do you think? Also has anyone got an image of the eyes painted on the emperor, can't seem to find any good examples to copy from on tinternet? Below is the current state of the mini... Thanks for the help n advice (in anticipation).

Embo is certainly a popular choice (the Kyuzo with the hat) and had a pet wolf-thing if I recall.
As for Jango being the obvious choice..  I respectfully disagree.   If we go by total screen time Cad Bane far surpasses Jango.   He would also bring much more visual variety to the game, has an equal number, if not more gadgets than Jango.   Has a cooler hat.  He basically does EVERYTHING Jango does, but better.   Jetboots instead of jet pack, two pistols firing rapidly, several gadgets for dealing with jedi.  Cad Bane has it all.   Even his death scene (from an unfinished clone wars episode) is better than Jango’s.
Cad Bane was also around for the clone wars.  Whereas Jango lost his head during the first battle.
