We use an extra frog, a "death frog", to remember to move the reaper. Whenever you roll a 1 you pick up the frog and keep it in your hand for the rest of your turn to help you remember.
Not a bad idea although I would probably still forget and keep holding the frog until the next 1 is rolled. Had a better game just now, we finally got the hang of the luna event cards and thought they were great.

If it isn't stated to place cards on the discard pile do you leave them on the space?

Just wait until you get the Dragon expansion. haha.
It does get better as everyone becomes familiar with the game. I have seen an expansion that had a sun or moon on a stick in the middle of the board to help remember this variation. First and foremost, if you do forget, no big deal. Move on and try and remember next time. The day/night addition many people find to be annoying. If this is the case for you and your group I would suggest removing it and any day/night cards from the deck. This is not a big deal either and relatively easy. The most important thing to remember is the werewolf;when a 1 is rolled. And this too comes with time.
Ha!! I have decided not to get the Dragon expansion, or at least get that last which will probably be years if ever (I have read that it causes too many problems and changes gameplay for the worse). I have already organised the dungeon for April then I'll take a break probably til christmas
. The next one will either be The City or Highlands (I heard the Highlands is a little boring and the City can add imbalance to the game). The other thing that adds discomfort is the lack of space for all the cards and the massive board. The board can look very messy after a while and I have game pieces falling on tge floor every couple of turns. Might have to find something bigger...

I have 4th edition with blood moon and reaper and I find it hard to keep track of day/night changes, moving reaper or the warewolf, remembering luna events that are active, subtracting/adding strength depending on day/night and remembering all my added bonuses or terms from my followers/objects.
I have only played a few times with the new expansions though so does it get better with time? Recieved blood moon last week and the last few games were more stressfull than fun.

That must lead to some particularly aromatic Talisman sessions! I think for now I'll ask at my local gaming store in DC because I'd feel much more comfortable dropping them off and picking them up in person rather than shipping them.
Can you let me know how much they charge and how long it will take them to paint? If it seems reasonable It might encourage me to search for a game shop here. I searched amazon for different paint and thought the professional ones like Vallejo and reaper paints were very expensive, I found an all purpose acrylic 9 colour set that costed something like 4 times less but looking at some of the figurines online they appear far superior.

I would love to have them painted, as I'm useless at doing that sort of thing myself. I've seen some companies that will paint them for you, but I'm nervous about shipping all of my minis to them. Has anyone tried that route?
I would like to try the same with a couple of mine aswell. I did know the perfect place in Australia where I used to live, it was a "warhammer" themed shop in the mall around the corner from my old apartment (they had a huge table with some kind of battlefield and all these decorated characters and a big scary and hairy man used to teach people how to play). They sold all the paints and equipment but I wasn't interested back then and am in Italy now and haven't come across any shops like that here yet.
I have ordered blood moon so will have another go myself. I think one of my big problems is the quality of my brushes as I keep having to redo areas again and again because the bristles are all split and go in every direction. I don't have the surgeon hands either
. I actually used a gold and silver pen for the metallic things like swords and armour but I think that is starting to fade away. I used some basil for grass and curry powder for desert sand

I have painted my figurines from Talisman/reaper, not with the professional toy paint but just acrylic (a couple of people from amazon.co.uk said they used it for plastic figurines and it was fine). But compared to some of the painted figurines I've seen here they are very ordinary, still better than plain old grey though
Is it the skill level that is mainly responsible for other painted figurines looking so much better or the type of paint? I put a gloss on afterward aswell. Also, I read on the net that for shading characters (making the small features more defined) you can just mix black paint with water and cover after painting. Does anyone else do this? Any tips would be appreciated as I am thinking of redoing a few of my characters as I became too impatient to finish and did a bit of a rush job.
Cheers

I love your rule about levelling up and only trading trophies for your current strength/craft value. I wil
Be introducing this with a minimum of 7 though

As mentioned, the only limit against cards is for DRAWING purposes. There is no limit for cards on a space. So he would go to the space with the other cards and when a player landed on it they would encounter each card by the encountering number.
If it is a space, for example that allows 3 cards to be drawn and there was 2 cards on the space, the player would draw 1 card to bring the limit to 3 and encounter each card in order. if there were 3 cards on the space the character would encounter those 3 cards and draw no more.
Ahhh, I understand now. Thank you for you help.

1.rst question. The Leeper stays there. No square has a permitted number of cards (f.ex I u die all your objects go on one space). Simply follow the square instuctions, If there is one card already there, u usually don't draw a new one, just encounter the one(s) that are there.
On the main board the only exceptions to this are ruins, oasis and hidden valley. Remember to draw up so u encounter 2/3 cards on them aswell even if one is already there.
2.nd: Yes, take one of them.
3rd: Yes you get rid of it.
I had to look up some old posts myself. Never though of it that way. This post should cover all doubts http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/37591-poltergeist/
Concerning Q1. When a player lands on a space with the The Lepper or Carnavale adventure card they must roll the dice once to determine what happens to them (ie With the lepper you roll a 1 or 2 and you can only move 1 space for 2 turns for memory)and after that you must roll again to move the lepper card in a diiferent space. But what happens if there is already a card in the space where the lepper card must move?

I am kind of new to Talisman and have a couple of simple questions that I would love answers to. I have Talisman 4th edition and the Reaper expansion.
The first is when you have a card like "The Lepper" or "Carnavale" where you must move them whenever you land on their space according to a dice roll. What happens if the space where they must move already has its permitted amount of cards?
The second concerns cards such as "pool of life" or other similar cards that permit you to place 4 life, strength or craft on the space which allows one to be collected when a player lands on them. Do you take one of the four when you first land on the space and pick up that card, for some reason it seems wrong but we have been playing that way so far.
EDIT: We also had an adventure card that only allowed me to move one space per turn until I crossed the river by raft, ferry or bridge. Can I just cross the bridge that crosses to the City or Village or does it want me to cross over to the inner region (apologies if I have some Talisman place names incorrect, I'm not proficient enough yet).
Appreciate any help,
cheers,

What is there to spend gold on?
in Talisman

I have Reaper and Blood Moon and finished a game with 12 Gold (plus 4 I lost in the Oasis that no one bothered to collect.). Does the City expansion give you more things to spend your money on?
