  1. There seems to be 2 layers to the bid meta. PS 9s with bids go fairly deep I've seen many 3pt bids and one or two lists with 4 pt bids. I've even run a list with a 5 point bid (Poe-Corran) and another with a 13 pt Bid (Kylo- Whisper). The prevelance ps 10/11 makes heavy bids for PS 9 a risky proposition. If you are Fielding PS 9s I'd recommend at least 4 pts of bid if your list requires control of the initiative. A lot of thweek builds involve at least a 3pt bid. Most PS 11 lists I've seen tend to trend towards 99 or 100 pts due to the expense of the ships involved. A 2 point bid should be fairly secure.
  2. It may be a bit exaggerated, but I feel that Poe needs a second source of damage mitigation after his focus token. Currently the two best ways of providing this are R2D2 and Intensity+ Comm Relay. (Prior to these combos, the go-to source for this mitigation was R5-P9) The second set of damage mitigation takes Poe's defensive profile to the point where a single ship really can't penetrate his defenses in a reasonable amount of time. If you don't kill him early, a single ship in end game may not be able to kill him at all. Poe's chassis doesn't allow for stacking strong attacking upgrades that make him a threat you can't ignore. Without the second level of defence, it is a viable option to leave Poe for last to kill.
  3. I got use Experimental Interface to slam bomb clusters on to Han for 5 damage that game (I didn't like the game was looking for me before that, your approach was pretty solid). EI is rather brutal. I even slammed into a rock for that bomb drop. That said PS11 Han beats dash and matches well vs Nym (particularly G-chip versions)
  4. How about PTL+Intensity instead. Everyone is pushing towards PS 11 anyhow. PS 9 just doesn't cut it anymore.

  6. I see you like OCR4+ Concussion Dalan as well... The trick to the list is to get the enemy to be chasing one of your ships while the other follows and deals damage. But the point about low firepower is more than fair.
  7. For reference the defenders list I faced was this guy Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35 Juke 2 TIE/x7 -2 Ship Total: 35 Countess Ryad — TIE Defender 34 Push the Limit 3 Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1 TIE/x7 -2 Ship Total: 36 Rho Squadron Veteran — Alpha-class Star Wing 21 Expertise 4 Harpoon Missiles 4 Ship Total: 29 I did have the advantage that I can trade 1/2 pts on han for the Rho and still win. In our match, I killed the gunboat first. Then vessery got a lucky shot early that wiped Poe's shields in one attack. He spent several rounds trying to pick up the spare. (Poe's defensive game is beyond reproach.). I eventually scrapped the defenders off of Poe by flying past a rock at a good angle. The defenders tried to switch to following Han, but Poe quickly reversed and started peeling locks off of Han with the one of the defenders having to spend mods defensively and no target locks available they couldn't put big damage through. I eventually killed vessery and my opponent surrendered as he had a 5 health Ryad vs full health Poe and a Han who was only missing a couple of shields.
  8. I played it verses double defenders and a rho-boat yesterday. I struggled vs the defenders damage wise, but they struggled right back damage wise. The defenders can't really crack black one Poe, and 3po han puts up a really strong guard and can threaten arc Dodges to R1. Rocks are your friends in this matchup. Whoever the defenders not chasing just needs to go on the offensive.

Poe Dameron (PS9) — T-70 X-Wing 33 Veteran Instincts 1 R2-D2 4 Advanced Optics 2 Autothrusters 2 Black One 1 Ship Total: 43 This guy is PS 11, can't be blocked significantly, can throw k-turns without a significant hit to defence, and can Regen. Poe Dameron (PS9) — T-70 X-Wing 33 Intensity 2 BB-8 2 Comm Relay 3 Autothrusters 2 Black One 1 Ship Total: 43 This got is very squirrelly, can black one twice per round (BB8+Boost), gets a full token stack every round, almost impossible to block. This guy is worse vs PS10/11 missiles, but owns gunboat swarms. (Black one 2 target locks, range control the third boat)

Thoughts? Suggestions?
  11. Poe has a couple of good builds, both competitive (I love seeing this in pilots) If running intensity, then I suggest Bb-8+com Relay. This build allows a full token stack plus double black one clears. If running anything else, I suggest R2D2+Adv Optics. This build has higher PS and a better ability to use K turns.
  12. Yet another x wing miniatures squad builder is a web based app that runs very well. If suggest giving them a shot.
  13. The card doesn't reference assigning a maneuver. Also, the FAQ clarifies that Nien works on Ion moves
  14. Fenn Rau Flight Assist+Nien Numb+ Pulsed Ray shield Nien makes the 1 straight ion move green (and gives access to the now green 4 straight). You can do a 1 fwd then use astro to correct your arc if needed
  15. I like the argument for Kyle. I'll have to weigh that vs pulsed Ray shield. I'm not sold on the argument against FAA on the sheathipede because it has 2 arcs. The whole point of the Droid is to ensure you have arc on someone. My general take on this is that is the get my arc on someone I'm ok not having the free reposition (particularly since I only paid 1 point for the Droid) Though if I switch to Kyle, I will change the Droid to R2
  16. The courier Droid on Zeb is there to be cheeky (kinda like disrespect guidance chips). At the end of the day it costs me literally nothing to do it. As for Nien, he has a couple of uses. The 4 straight green is nice for keeping up with the ghost, but the real reason I take him is to make the 1 straight ion move from pulsed Ray shield a green move. I can then clear stress while ionized and use flight assist to correct my arc placement. I get the argument on chopper vs lothal, but since I am using Nien, I don't need more points on Fenn. ( If I want katarn I'd rather switch Nien+pulsed Ray shields for that trade). I like choppers ability to boost to a block and then prevent the enemy from dialing a k to follow me. Anothervariant of the list I am considering is to drop to Lothal Rebel and equip seismic torps to open up a new lane.

The ghost brings action-less near full mods, Fenn can protect in a similar manner as lowhrick while setting up PS11 arc Dodges. Sensor jammer combos with Fenn and people are hesitant to spend focus in the face of the ghost's firepower as is.
  18. I've run almost this exact build. It's a lot of fun to fly. My only problem it's that it folds to PS 10+ There will hang in, but Fenn and Genesis really don't like being out PS'ed
  19. I flew an 87 pt Whisper-Kylo at my last Tournament. My only hard games were vs PS 10/11. Kylo would be busted if Max PS was PS 9

  23. This list was influenced by the fact that I didn't have a third expertise or long range scanners card. I was pleasantly surprised by Karsabi's performance. I usually have him zip out in front of the other boats right before the first engagement.   24. Very much true. If I had to scrape for points, EM is what I would cut. I've had enough times where I wanted the second missile immediately rather than waiting for a reload. And EM is cheaper than buying another torpedo.
