I'm eyeing that 7771.... does anyone have one? I'd like to know if its trays hold the falcon/shuttle/firespray before I pull the trigger on it.
I have both the 1374 & 7771
The 1374 uses 4 of the 3750 Trays
http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?PID=953
Which are 2 inches high with the bottom row being 6 large adjustable sections.
you can fit 2 Falcons (3 sections each), 3 shuttles/firesprays (2 sections) or 6 hawks (1 section each) in that bottom row,
I always cut the clamshell packaging to size so nothing moves.
As for the top storage that'll give you approx. 14.25" X 8" so you can easily fit the CR90 when it comes out, currently its holding two more 3750 trays
The 7771 comes with 4 of the 3701 trays, and maybe a 3500, cant remember
http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?PID=749
Which is 1.38 in High, so that cant fit large ships (Amazon says it's interchange with any 3700 series but its not) but max number of compartments is 35 so you can easily fit 35 ships per tray. Xs, Ys, As, Tie Bombers/Interceptors/Advanced all fit wonderfully with this tray once again with the clamshell cut to size. (The Tie Fighter fits but a very tight fit so I kept it in the 3750 trays)
The large area right of the trays can fit a 3504
or 3 3500s
http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?PID=945
As for the Top storage the Center is app 9.25" X 9.5" so you can fit about 2/3 GR75s depending on how you cut the clamshell, The left area is about 5.25" X 9.5" and holds 2 Plano 3500s or I imagine another GR75. The right comes with dividers that make 4 5.375" X 2-2.75" X 3" Tall section thats I use to store all my dials. The exterior has alot more storage than the 1374 and holds all my tokens.
They actually both compliment each other rather well, Hope this helps!
TL:DR the 1374 holds larges ships not the 7771, but 7771 has more storage options.
I use the 1364, which came with 4 of the smaller 3600-series boxes. I can store the falcon and the firespray in their respective faction box, but the shuttle was a little too wide, and I couldn't close the lid. It sits in its original clear tray in the storage area on top with the movement templates, the dials, and the big ships' bases. I don't know if the 3700-series boxes are taller as well as wider, allowing a shuttle to fit.
However, as I'm one TIE fighter or bomber and one A-wing away from filling the current box, I may be able to report back in the not too distant future.
I had done my HW before buying and thats why I went with the 3700 series, For game nights/Events/Tourney a single 3750 can hold just about any list plus are cards, tokens, dials, and maneuver templates it also fits perfectly in my small fully packed camelbak so its great for traveling.

I doubt I'm the first but i did a search and got nothing, so this was just put up

both will fit in the top section of the plano 1374
happy hunting
I think I'm gonna upgrade my current Plano box to this one.
Nice you may also be interested in the Plano 7771 the center console has an opening of around 9" x 9" too small for the vette but should hold 2/3 transports just fine, though note that the 7771 comes with 4 3701 trays which has a smaller height than the Plano's 1374 trays (3750)
both will fit in the top section of the plano 1374
happy hunting
That's a nice case. I just got one to store my tokens cards, dials etc.
Nice I have one for each faction and filling fast.

Considering how they handled the Transport pre-orders it MAY and i stress the may be sooner.
For the transport then didn't start taking orders until around the 4/22 and it's getting released now so hopefully they might just release the vette within a week or so from now.

Solid advice going on in this thread, but one question: you don't necessarily know what you're going up against when you field your list, correct?
I see all of you saying, "Well, change x, y, and z and next time do a, b, and c." Well, that's all well and good advice, but I don't think you get to pick your ships on the spot after seeing what the opponent is fielding?
Nope X-Wing is pretty much just a complex version of Rock-Paper-Scissors hence sometimes you might be stronger other times no but that just comes with the turf. Thats where forward thinking, good flying and smart tactics can save the day. Hence I said make a list your comfortable with then keep flying it til you feel you know what your doing.
-
So I just finished playing a game on Vassal. I was fielding:
Luke: R2D2, Shield Upgrade, Draw Their Fire
Wedge: Shield Upgrade
Biggs: Shield Upgrade
My opponent had:
Dagger Squadron Pilot x3: Heavy Laser Cannon x3, Fire-Control System x3
Basically it was somewhat even but I felt as if I was getting my face smashed in by him getting to roll 4 dice at range 2-3 and the re-rolling as many dice as he wanted with his FCS. The amount of dice this build put onto the board was insane. He was also getting really good rolls to boot.
My question is simple: the entire time he had me target-locked. If he already had me target-locked and decided to use his FCS, does he remove the target-lock token? He always kept it on, claiming they are two separate things. He basically got to target lock me whenever he attacked.
I truly felt there was something amiss in this game. Maybe it was due to the fact I am still new to X-Wing, but I felt his build gave him an insane amount of dice coupled with amazing movement from the B-Wings coupled with insane shields.
Either way, I will definitely be trying out his build in a tournament in the future. Absolutely ridiculous.
(Though I did manage to knock out two of his ships and got his final ship down to 3 hull pts). It just wasn't enough to save me.
Can anyone shed some light on his build? I feel it is super strong. Cheers!
Personally it's a solid list, but if you like B-Wings may I suggest my list
3 Blue's + Advanced Sensors
Roark + Ion Turret
I'm no where near a Vet and I don't play vassal I've only been playing for alittle less than 6 months and only about played about 8/9 games max before making this list. But since then I've gone 16 Wins to 4 Loses, 2 Store Championships and 4th place. It's not the perfect list nor am I the perfect player but I feel that 3 B-Wings are the way to go, I choose Advanced Sensors because they can very forgiving for someone new or getting used the B-wing and because I much prefer short-range it I'm prepared for inevitable bumps while most of the time my opponents suffer and Barrel-rolling before you move is amazing! Also while Target lock is nice I always because w/ PS2 I'm usually shot first so Focus gives me the flexibility that I could use it defensively to save a near-death Blue and as someone mentioned if you have to change targets it's wasted. Roark allows me to always decide who shoots first (PS12 to a Bwing), while the ion turret is great against enemy low Agility ships, like B-Wings after the first pass I neutralize them for a turn or two while my b's focus on pressing threats or I K-Turn behind and ionize them until their dead (cruel & frustrating yet effective). The Hwk's 4 Hull 2 Agility surprisingly has a higher survival rate than I first imagined. I prefer 4 ships to 3 since I have 29 hull/shield points and its less of a loss if I lose one (usually Roark will live until second round of shots while my Blue pound away for two rounds)
But by all means play both see what fits you but advice that I've learned from this list is
1) Always start in a tight formation: you can always barrel roll 3/4 of your squad if you want to avoid area/splash
2) Always focus fire on one target and finish the kill
3) Always start from a corner.
4) If you feel you have a solid list than stick with it learn the in's and outs and remember one bad game of dice doesn't mean you got a bad list. I've played exclusively with my list since I made and recently I've been able to pull off tougher victories because I know exactly what I can/can't do.
5) Play to win and your very best but always Fly Causal, plenty of people are so keep it and if not then set the example, when I'm winning I always makes jokes at my expenses, when I'm losing I always try to laugh if off (usually with jokes at my expense)
Happy Hunting
The FCS gives a target lock after an attack, but that target lock is normal in every way. Can only maintain one, spend it if you want to reroll, etc.
What it sounds like is he was firing, using his lock, and the reacquiring a new one after the attack. That's perfectly legal.
It's a solid build, to be sure, but it doesn't sound like your opponent was doing anything wrong.
Edit: As for beating it, you've got a solid PS advantage, and should honestly have a decent shot at killing a B before they ever fire. Close hard and fast... At range they're throwing 4v2 to your 3v2. At range 1 it becomes 4v2 for them and 4v1 for you, and Wedge makes that 4v0. If you can maneuver in tight, you can also limit the FCS. It loses a lot of effectiveness if you have to change targets... And should probably be useless after the first round, since all the shots will be at Biggs, who probably won't survive, so wasted locks there.
Solid Advice, last time I fought Bs I ran into with FCS I would make the target bump the lock holder then Ion them.

or add
25 Jan
+5 Ion Turret
+2 Squad Leader
+1 Intelligence Agent/Nien Numb
Jan can make Keyan roll 5 red dice plus squad leader will keyan.
Total 99 so you can still add determination or R2/R5 mechs
-
2 Ideas
29 Wes Janson
29 Keyan Farlander
+4 Opportunist
+3 Advanced Sensors
28 Ibtisam
+3 Push the limit
+3 Advanced Sensors
Total: 99 Points
Giving the Bs options is paramount, 2 Bs is plenty of shields to let them chew through, plus Ibby each round can either take 2 actions then move green or a nongreen move then gain her rerolls either way so every round your covered esp. with the game moving to a stress-filled game.
or
29 Wes Janson
29 Keyan Farlander
+4 Opportunist
19 Roark G.
+5 Ion Cannon Turret
12 Bandit Squardron Z-95
Total 98 Points
Roark lets you ionize during the first pass so they can't immediately K-turn and allows you great flexibility in either killing that PS9+ or any weaken ship before they shoots or making sure the bandit can fire before the meta's avg of PS4, Regardless the bandit is a blocker which should help Keyan get more reds.
Personally I like the 2nd list because it with the blocker, ion & PS12 i feel it can handle larger number of lists.
With 1 or 2 Points leftover, most of the time Init. is yours or you can add to Wes:
+2: Stress inducing R3-A2/target locking R5-K6 (100 Points but Roark will help offset this)
or
+1 for R2/R5 astromechs and/or determination on Wes(or Intelligence agent on Roark which would help with blocking)

FFG hasn't disappointed me yet so I'm GUESSING here but the transport should take some damage if not all to prevent abuse.

So I'm a huge fan of my experiances at comics fusion in flemington, nj. Everything is awesome so it's hard to pick one experiance. The first night I came to play i was greeted well and instantly made friends with their casual night players. The player group is great and it's really comfortable to come and play even as a new player. Sean is the guy who runs things and he is super friendly and puts a lot of work into keeping his players happy. We have had big holiday bashes using custom rules for large ships and multiple players, we track the galactic struggle between imperials and rebels, and for the 1 year anniversary, Sean had small prize packs for everyone which was awesome of him.
And for Christmas the store got mini cupcakes from a local bakery and Santa was there.
Hey I'm a regular there and yeah Sean is a really really cool guy last week we celebrated our 1 year as a group and he gave out personalized swag, from all the sets, in addition to crunch the statistics on for everyone whos ever played one game with us. Cool guy as does alot for the group. (also cupcakes too)
Come join us for causal games and lots of laughs.

The crew at Comic Fusion are real cool and highly recommend them for anything.
As for other LGS shoutouts:
The owner of Six Feet Under Games in New Holland, Pa is a super nice lady who runs her store & tournaments super well. Nice people there and she gives a **** about the players. http://www.sixfeetundergames.com/
The workers at Golden Eagle Game, Reading, Pa were really cool as well as the X-Wing group (Nigel & Brett great fly casual guys)
Top Deck Games, Westmont, NJ nice store Joe who runs the group, awesome guy treated me like a regular my only time there.

Night Beast has a great ability, and no one argues that. He's a total pain in the butt.
But who has a great ability that no one even recognizes? Roark Garnet. He's cheap, can house crew and turrets, and his ability can be a game changer. He guarantees that one of your ships will shoot first.
Roark is so underrated I run him w/Ion Turret, 3 Blues w/ Advanced Sensors, currently I'm at 11-1 (won two store champs) time and time again his ability has saved my skin and counter balances the low PS.
I literately just finished from a 2v2 75points per person game about an hr ago, I had 2 Blues w/ Roark vs. 6 Interceptors (Soon, Turr, Carnor, Kir, Tetran & Lorrir) I was able kill 3 Interceptors before they could return fire.

That averages 4 evades against the first attack, and just under 3 thereafter. While good it is regrettably touchable...(It will murder Tie Swarms though...)How's this for something "new"..
Ewing + r2f2 + PLT + Stealth Upgrade
At range 3, behind an astroid, that is 7 green dice with either a focus or evade token. 6 without an astroid is still pretty sick.
Ewing is going to be a phenomenal ship.
How do you figure? Sure you aren't always at range 3 and stealth will wear off. But mid game, range 2 you still have 4 defense dice with the droid AND a evade token.. I also think getting that first hit (naturally) to take stealth off would be difficult. Opening salvo even range 2 will be 5 dice + focus or evade. Thats nothing to scuff at IMO.
Your action is R2F2. and a single focus/evade. That leaves you with 3/8ths of your dice as actual results. and 5/8ths on one attack.
That means that on 7 dice, with focus you average 4.375 dice, and 2.625 evades without. If you want the exact unrounded math. You'll do very well against Tie fighters and other 2 dice ships. But once you hit 3 dice ships with Focuses and Target locks you will get hit.
And that's at range three through an asteroid. At Range 2 without an asteroid you have an average of 3.125 evades with focus and 1.875 without. Without a focus you don't stand a chance of dealing with sustained focus token focus fire.
Sensor Jammer could help with this, either forcing them to take & burn focus, (sorry tie swarm no focus/evade for your defense) or lose a hit every attack. I stress could because considering how many points you've already sunk theres a good chance they will be gunning for you anyway.
Garven, Kyle or Airen should be able to help though.
-
Fooling around some more with a-wings and a b-wing, I came up with this list. Critiques are welcome.
Ibtisam
- Elusiveness
- Sensor Jammer
- Heavy Laser Cannon
- Shield Upgrade
Have you considered switching Elusiveness & Shield Upgrade for Push the Limit & Stealth Device
EPTs:
Elusiveness is more in the spirit of slippery and while both stress you, Push the limit allows you to decide when and how you receive the stress, which at first doesn't seem like much but your future maneuvers can be more preemptive instead of reactive hence during the planning round you can decide the right maneuver knowing that you will be this round stressed. This also allows her ability to kick into from the beginning of the round so even if your not attacked or attacked by a lower PS your attacks benefits from the reroll. Double actions are amazing, you can do any combination of target lock, focus & barrel roll. I fly 3 Bs and can't stress enough how good barreling rolling out of arcs/behind astroids can be plus the 1 her reroll is effectively a Target lock Lite. So even if you barrel roll for positioning, take focus for defense (see below) you still have something to help the attack.
Modifications:
I know I know Stealth on a 1 Agility ship is stupid but now you can maximize her abilities potential. Plus Sensor Jammer itself either forcing them to take & burn their focus (which either helps your attack or hurts theirs). This in combo w/ Push the limit can even allow you to use Target Lock/Barrel roll for offensive/positioning and take focus for defense. Granted the dice goddess is fickle (only a woman can cause me THAT much grief) but 1 extra green + 1 reroll + Sensor Jammer + possibly focus gives you a hell of fighting chance to keep stealth thus possible Return of Investment for 3 points compared to a guarenteed lost after one hit for me is clear.
...that came out longer than I planned well thats because I'm..... http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/102754-obsessed-with-this-game/
tl:dr same point cost but different way of achieving slipperiness.

I might spend more time messing with my stuff than I do playing
... I definitely spend more time on the forums than I do playing.same here, I always got 5/10 minutes to kill on the bus to/from class
-
umm (sharpie) painted the token and templates...
bought 3 plano boxes...
will completely fill atleast 2...have way more ships than I could possibly field...
traveled far distances to play in store championships...
spent a large amount of time watching games/on forums...
got ultra pro doubled sided, side-loading card pages in a special binder...
afraid to one day add up the total cost til then i'm blissfully ignorant.....
P.S. Im sure theres something I missed

tl:dr I've spent alot time/money on it and good (sad?) part is I don't see this addiction stopping...
