  1. I'm disappointed with wave 6, its really meh.

But all this hate for armada is surprising, I don't think it will kill epic but I do think they should have put out an imperial something.

/* maybe for playtesting/business reasons they are delaying it,  not all SKUs were released in order help me FFG Epic team your my only hope */

*Back to rant mode* If above is true then mention the **** thing(s) are in the works!

    P.S. Fix the Advanced already

  2. Can't go wrong with Battlefoam.

My stressed and crited wallet with 6 direct hits says otherwise.

I use plano, nothing wrong but BF IMHO Planos are significantly cheaper and I'd rather just get more ships.

  3. Had a great trade with 'TheycamefromBEHIND'. I now own some ugly target lock promos... :) But they're mine! ALL MINE!

they are ugly haha sucker! :) Good trade with Danath, cool guy very trusting and another in mail with Veldrin.

Sorry Executor I've already made my trades and now I'm only looking for dice or focus tokens. BTW can't message you.

  4. I love this game and I'm grateful to FFG for this product, but I would like to see one change (but I know I won't).

I think there should be a bigger penalty for bumping friendly ships. I think it's so cheesy when people purposely smash into the back of their own ships and only miss an action. I don't like things that allow people to do things that the game isn't about. I don't believe you'd see the USS Lincoln bump into a slower boat in the ocean. Thank God. What if the famous Blue Angels did tricks by smacking into one another at air shows (please no tasteless jokes)?

I think that BOTH friendly ships should have to roll for damage as well as losing the action. Or auto damage, or... What do you think?

I think we would see more careful flying and less swarms (or at least better swarm pilots) ;).

    Thoughts?

I feel bumping is the same as Ionizing or stressing, they suck if your the victim but are apart of the game and their are ways to counter. As for bumping into their own this is a tactic you can use as well. Also not all friendly bumps are planned.

This isn't an attack but as for your comparisons its really apples to oranges.

USS Lincoln is a carrier and moves like one but theres plenty of cases of destroyers hunt down and ramming subs (smaller slower ships) and sinking them thats why had a reinforced hull and it was a designed tactic.

but the point is moot since it already been said its 3-D and they are not touching. Ships what would touch are the huge ships and look what happens there but that is another point. The answer applies to the angels aswell not touching much like the angels but I'm sure you'd agree that to pull off their close formations and tricks it requires intense concentration not to hit and the action lost represents that you can focus on your enemy when your focusing on trying not to crash.

What you purpose is an outside rule that would could the meta and possibly unbalance the game. Stiffer penalties may mean less ships, smaller lists, pilot ability effectiveness loss due to wider ranges between allies. The game already penalizes you for crashing and has plenty of ways to punish/rewards tight formations anyway.

As a Reb Phantoms sucks but like everything in X-wing nothing (yet and thank god) is broken we just gotta take the time to figure out how to best fight everything

  6. PTL Echo + Stygium Particle Accelerator + Sensor Jammer + Recon Specialist. Her action is to cloak, which gets her 4 Agility and a free evade action. PTL is triggered by the free evade, and used to focus. Sensor Jammer ensures that opponents without focus tokens of their own will struggle.

PTL Fel + Stealth is probably next up, then PTL Falcon + Threepio + Recon Specialist + Millennium Falcon accompanied by Kyle + Jan Ors.

Recon is good but I wonder stats-wise if FI is the better pick since you can use it for every attack. Though I do like the 2 Focus 1 Evade.

  7. Gemmer with Stealth, Test Pilot, and Elusiveness at range 1 of an enemy ship with a focus and an evade.

The next best is a Phantom with elusiveness, flight Instructor, and sensor Jammer. But it loses out to focus tokens too much. I refuse to believe anybody would ever put a stealth device on a Phantom.

    Ha!

Gemmer is good but not out yet and you only get 5 green when your close. While Phantom gets it at any range at 6 green at range 3. Plus you can't get a focus evade with PtL and the OP said no stress so come to think of it then neither of us can run Elusiveness but Flight Instructor and Sensor Jammer will make the Phantom out live any A-Wing

  8. Like most things X-Wing its a case by case matter,

but I have used Cluster Missiles on Cracken to great effect (grant two actions as per his ability) plus munition failsafe means if I miss against those perky SD Interceptors or cloaked Phantoms then I get to try it again.

Blount with Assault Missiles or Ion Pulse Missile is good too.

But this really all depends on how you build your like and its end goal.

    Hope it helps.

    Happy Hunting!

  9.

It wasn't all that long ago that the best minds in the world said the Earth was flat.

I actually it was quote a long time ago...the ancient Greeks knew that the earth wasn't flat. Columbus sure as hell knew; he was trying to prove that there was a faster way to India, not that the earth was a sphere...

The Greeks actually figured out the diameter of the earth within a couple percent. Humanity has known the earth was round since we've been sailing.

Its a shame how few people know that, +1

  11.

My Flgs and group are about 45 mins away so for the drive there and back I spend the time brainstorming X-Wing I can up with this:

Horton w/Ion Cannon Turret, R2-D6 + VI, and Flechette Torpedoes: 34 Points (Munitions Failsafe Optional)

With a PS10 Horton can move after VI/ST/Decoyed Phantom and shoot first, w/ blank rerolls at Range 2 for the ion (thus they can't Decloak next turn if they use ACD and its perfect for already cloaked phantoms) but the best would be Hitting a Phantom with the Flechettes which shouldn't be hard since its 2 Agi vs. his rerolls of any blanks (even if they escape the munitions failsafe lets you try again)  If they survive then the stress prevents ACD from kicking in.

Alot of points but Y-Wings have enough hull to last, this would be great paired with with VI Lando/Han or even VI Cracken (PS10+s) that always strike before Phantoms.

    What do you guys think?

Biggest problem I see with this is keeping it in your forward arc for those torpedoes. Even though you're moving first, lets face it: there aren't a lot of places you can go. With the crazy way the thing can move, and some of the more interesting telemetry options offered by Echo, they'll still probably be able to have a good idea of where you will go and act accordingly. And also, I can't imagine an easier small ship to block than a PS 10 Y-Wing.

Very true hence I expect to use the Ion turret more often the Flechs are just for the turns when the X-Wing gods favor you
