I'm in the exact same boat. I already had 3 Falcons and 3 T70s, so I never picked it up either.

Really love that shield gate mat. If you had told me we'd be 2 years out from Rogue one, heading into V2 and still no official shield gate mat from FFG, i would have not believed you.

You're right. That is a different boat entirely. And having zero falcons is crazy! Having three wasn't really my fault. I bought the first just to have it, obviously. I bought the second to repaint/fly in a cheesy two falcon list. The third I got when my brother paid off some money he owed me in Xwing miniatures. So three isn't really that crazy!

I thought it was Anikan's ill-fated encounter with Obi-Wan on Mustafar that really inflamed him...

In the Red corner, we see the hero of the rebellion, Wedge Antilles, The Red Leader. A truly fearsome pilot, ignoring the agility of his enemies, while destroying them with the impressive array of stats  available to his craft.
With a natural 3 red dice, 2 green, 4 hull and 2 shields, the X-wing is a surprisingly tough ship. Behind the pilot, you can find a number of helpful droids, eager to help the rebellion with their slave labor, only to be seen as annoyance by everyone.
In the Grey corner, we have the Ace of Legend, the one and only, Soontir Fel. Sporting a superior dial and an agility value of 3, and the use of special thrusters, Soontir can easily use his superior Initiative... oh... they are the same. Nevermind, surely, his craft can sustain the blows from the superior attack of the X-wing, don't forget, Wedge has access to a targeting computer.. oh. So, he has half as much hitpoints, including no shields at all.. Nevermind that, the TIE craft are incredibly modular, being able to equip multiple modifications allows this ship to take up battle against Wedge... oh... So... every upgrade he wants to take is extremely expensive... Well, even then, Soontir can easily outmaneuver his opponent, catch them in their firing arc to get a free focus... oh... sorry, that's Wedge... Soontir has to get them in a bullseye arc, which is much more difficult...
Clearly, Soontir is sitting in a more fragile, less powerful craft, his wingmen can help him out in the battle... oh... so they... cost the same...

Both ships have a ship ability (X-Wing has a configuration, but is it pretty much the same). True, the Interceptor's is a bit better, but in reality, it's just linked actions.
    Both ships are max IN.
Wedge's ability is easier to use and is similarly powerful.
It has 1 less agility... BUT DOUBLE THE HEALTH (WITH SHIELDS!!!)

Sure Fel can token stack, but catching an IN 6 small ship in bullseye arc is pretty hard.
And he can still blank out. And then Wedge can one shot him.

Tell me how is this fair.
    It isn't.

I think if they out-PS you and you don't have turrets, pre-nerf Whisper and Soontir are the worst.
In general it's probably Dash, who counts as a fat turret I think. 4 dice all over the board, boost and/or barrel roll, ease to play and no consequences from rocks, and general smugness of the people who play him make Dash one of the most unpleasant things to play against.

The trooper in black armor with a red head band standing to the left of anakin is the sergeant for the “bad batch” commando squad (officially called force 99) from that episode.
The Ashoka Novel pretty much flashback covered the siege of mandalore, so her standing next to presumeably Bo Kataan would seem to indicate this will be the story covered there (and series finale, where Filoni wanted to end the series originally).
I just don’t think there’s going to be to much content that hasn’t already been covered by in some other form (mainly book).
This doesn’t make many any less excited for it though. To finally have those stories told the way thy were supposed to... it’s a dream come true. I am rogue one levels of hype. You know how the story is going to end... but the journey there is going to be a good one.
I’m particularly interested in what was supposed to be a “top gun” style episode involving Rex that never made it to animation(but was finished story wise). I wonder if it will make the cut.

I think that this is just what Disney needed to do to reinvigorate the Star Wars brand. After the way The Last Jedi split the fan base(not going into that argument here) and Disney's apparent attitude of not caring about the complaints of their core demographic(again not the place to discuss), the move to bring back a beloved show might just fit the bill. The Clone Wars fans have been campaigning for it's return for literally years, and many will see this bit of fan service as a bit of an olive branch.  It really feels like FFGs move to bring the Gunboat to XWMG after the community asked for it for years.  I am really happy it's coming back. Maybe it can fill in some gaps for Ashoka's story between the end of TCW and Rebels.

Unfortunately the store owner sounds like the typical bad FLGS owner. There's not much you can do other than try to find a more accommodating store to run your tournaments at. In my experience, bad store owners often don't appreciate the tangential benefits of building a community and are often too focussed on immediate financial benefits of everything. Being known as a good place to play can lead to better sales in the long run. I was discussing this very fact with a store owner yesterday. He said running an X-Wing tournament for him doesn't make a huge profit but it's good PR for the shop and, in the years he's been hosting various tournaments the word-of-mouth benefits have been pretty substantial. Seems like your store owner is too short-sighted. Or maybe he's one of those store owners who prefers only having a specific clique playing at his store, kind of like his own personal club. I've seen that a lot too.

Again. I'm speaking from experience. What you say, doesn't really happen. Maybe once in a blue moon. The average event has some income from food and drinks, and 1 or 2 guys might buy a blister or something.
It is very rare that someone with enough disposable income and inclination to buy stuff strides into the store, without having done so anyway. From 40 people, if we saw an average of 3 purchases, we were happy. People don't casually spend 100-s of $$$ on your average weekend tourney.
The big moneys come from selling stupid ****, like playmats and other accessories. Painting tools etc. Organizing events is not exactly profitable (or at least, in this country). And the place they take up with all the tables, usually drive regulars away, who'd spend more.

If your store isn't the central hub of a game, allowing people to hold events is pretty much a charity. So when they can't get their **** together and arrive on time, they get sent away.

A ship performing a k-turn isn't spinning*, so rotating it to some sort of angle would make the opposite of thematic sense.
