  1. More a semi, really. A proper freighter should really be closer to a star destroyer in size. Freighters are BIG.
  2. As for the size of the HWK, I’ve accepted captain lackwits arguments, but I’ve said it before, the scenes from the original DF game still make it look a lot bigger to me. Doesn't matter though, video game visuals are THE ABSOLUTE WORST source to judge something’s size, the limitations of the medium require radical distortions, especially of interiors.
  3. As for the general “freighter” terminology in Star Wars, don’t assume the word means exactly the same as it does on earth, think of it more as “cargo hauler”. The HWK is a pickup, or maybe even an el Camino, the falcon is a utility van (souped up, with lots of bells and whistles taking up the “cargo space”), the gr-75s are u-hauls, above that you’ve still got 10-wheelers, semis, land trains, and actual ocean going freighters.
  4. Ah, there you are. I was starting to think I was going to have to tag you.
  5. Regenerating a force by doing something that helps seems broken, and contrary to 2nd’s design philosophy. The only thing that makes me think it might be the case is the symmetry, do a red action, gain this token, do a purple action, gain this other token.
  6. That is a huge amount of hassle though, and would slow the game down a LOT. Part of the immense appeal of the flight path system is how dead simple it is.
  7. That doesn’t work though because the ST factions match their original counterparts. Unless they change them, but the TIE/FO preview article still looked green
  8. Out of curiosity, how would you allocate them?
  9. Synchronized Console “After you perform an attack, you may choose a friendly ship at range 1, or a friendly ship with the synchronized console upgrade at range 1-3, and spend a lock you have on the defender. If you do, the friendly ship you chose may aquire a lock on the defender.” which, frankly, should have been the tie bomber or punisher’s ship ability.
  10. Can of cheap spray paint. Bases in virtually any color you want.
  11. See, I distinctly DON’T want non-tie fighters for the Empire, they define the look of the faction. I hate that the gunboat got made. Though I do agree we are running out of viable TIE variants. We aren’t there yet, but close.
  12. Except Darth Sidious is a WHOLE OTHER CARD. If they wanted to show that palpatine was a dual sided card with Sidious on the back they would have called it out in the article, not shown an extra card in the spread that isn’t included. Unless you think it comes with 2 copies of the Palpatine/Sidious flip card?
  13. A while ago I was playing around with the flight path system and game design and mocked up som extra large bases, 100mm across. IMO, the size didn’t work so well, at least with the regular move templates, even a 1 speed was a massive change in position, so I think extra large ships would require a new movement system, same as huge ships do, and then you’re kinda defeating the purpose. Tiny bases (20mm) though would have some potential for actual seeking weapons or tiny droid craft, or something.
  14. The thing is, that was all made up after the original movies. There were all sorts of droids with the same body and different heads in the original films, it was only after Star Wars became super popular that some authors decided that indicated they were different models and assigned meaning to it.
  15. Something called a “squadron pack” would also be a good place to introduce “squadron upgrades”, or whatever you want to call them, that encourage thematic lists. It’s been an oft suggested addition, and these new packs seem custom built to add them.
  16. I have 8 (9 if you count the converted firefly model), and I DID buy them to play epic with. Nevertheless, I can wait longer than 3 months for them to update the rules for them.
  17. Yeah, I commented on that somewhere. A lot of people seemed to think the sidious card is the back of the palpatine flip card and that they just tossed an extra into the spread to show it off, but I’m not really buying that.
  18. I thought you still couldn’t score more than 1 public during the status phase, even in TI4.
  19. Want to, sure. But not to the point of being blind to the realities of manufacturing and insisting that a company redo 6 years of game development in 3 months. They have said they are going to redo epic. They have said they are updating stuff as fast as they can. Complaining before they have even had a chance to demonstrate whether that is true or not is just entitled whining.
  20. I don’t really find that at all surprising. They will naturally push to get the most iconic and beloved ships re-released first. I don’t see it as indicative of any future pattern.
  21. Honestly, I couldn’t say. While I would really LIKE to play more epic, I have no one to play with. If an opponent did materialize, I would want to do a quick run through of all the epic cards to try and spot any obvious breakages.
  22. Yeah, that wasn’t really directed at you, more the OP and V. You’ve actually been mostly pretty good about expressing you’re (shall we say, fervent) desire for epic’s reboot without coming across as entitled or overly impatient (note, I said overly). ?
  23. I wouldn’t even double the points. Huge ships were always hideously over costed, just keep them as is so the format is more about huge ships. There’s already a thread in the epic section talking about how that works fine.
  24. Yeah, as soon as I saw the name I figured we are going to eventually see more of them.
