Hi, I flew the Scyks at the Denver Open.  I used a jamming beam once to strip the Reinforce token off a Palp shuttle in the fifth round to open it up to concentrated fire, then killed it the next turn.
The main key to the list is the two tractor beam Scyks, they help set up shots for the rest of the ships to help counterbalance the weakness of the two guns. Other than that, I tried to block as much as possible while still getting focuses and keep damaged scyks in places where there were better targets to shoot.

I also used an angled set-up to help give me the ability to react and shift my formation to how my opponent set up and give me a wide net to catch my prey in.  Also, I try to avoid K-turning except when necessary, and only one or two of the ships at a time (unless it's later in the game and I have to keep guns on).  Stressed Scyks often end up dead quickly.

It was a ton of fun to fly, and led to lots of close nail-biter games, which I love.

I mean the E wing has the red 1 turn that becomes white, not the daredevil boost becoming white my apologies for the bad phrasing.

I did it by hand. The whole process is not that long, the frequency isnt that often to justify a script, and since they might sometimes add new types of stuff, not flexible enough.

High initiative aces can jam away a lock before the protons hit, now for free.
Well, if any have cannon slots...
Taking a 2-point ISB slicer and a free jamming beam is a great way to give some aces a lot of trouble with your Lambda.
Two I2 B-wings with HLC and JB. Hit first with the one that doesn’t have bullseye or Range 1. Then blast them.
Generally speaking, anything that softens someone up for a later, meaner attack is nice.

If torpedoes continue to be a thing, then being able to roll up on a torpedo carrier knowing you can remove their target lock seems pretty good.
Even with triple T70s, I would probably give up one of my attacks to prevent a 4-dice coming back. Not sure if that's logically right, but it feels better.

JohnBoo reacted to Phelan Boots in A-WINGS!!! - Post Points Change
In case you missed it, Rebel A-Wings got all the buffs we predicted for them.  Namely, extra talent slot for everyone, and a moderate points reduction for all but the base generic.  Basically this means your old A-Wings builds can get Predator (or something) for free.
As RZ-1 A-Wings are my favorite ship (EVAR!!!) I’d like to discuss or new options with them here.  Rather than posting whole lists (because there are too many to count!) Im simply going to post some of my favorite new builds for each pilot.

First, the creme de la creme, Arvel (Motha F@%#ing!!!) Crynyd, oh baby!
Beat stick: Arvel, Intimidation, Predator - 39 points.
This will probably be in every list I play forever.  No missiles needed since he can’t shoot them at range 0 anyway.  Just take a focus and then apply boost directly to the forehead of the opponent.
Budget option: Swap Crack Shot for one of the above Talents, but really, just cut points elsewhere.

Next, Jake (The Snake) Farrell, saw the most points cut going from 40 to 36.
The Support Flanker: Jake, Outmaneuver, Predator - 44 points
Jake runs around the outside of the board with a GSP and if the stars align perfectly, he gets double mods, passes a focus to his wingman, and double repositions, and then reduces the targets Agility.
The Lone Snake:  Jake, Lone Wolf, Outmanuever - 47 points
This Jake does his thing by himself, acquiring double mods, repositions, and reduces Agility.  Fit him with Prockets or a Concussion Missile for maximum (and pricey) hurting.  Concussion missiles work with Outmaneuver, Prockets do not.

The mighty Green Squadron Pilot.  Ah, how I used to love running the Green Arrow list back in 1.0.  As such, I’m super excited to dump way too many points in to an A-Wing again and see how far I can take it.
The Flanking Wingman:  GSP, Outmaneuver, Predator - 40 points on the nose
I really want to run 4 of these plus Beat Stick Arvel, zipping around in pairs and  just makin a mess out of everything.
Budget Mini-Swarm: GSP, Predator, Crack Shot - 35 points
Four of these bad boys leaves you with 60 points left to spend.  That much goes a long way in Rebels these days.  Options I’ve looked at include, tricked out gunboat Nora (Y-Wing), Lowhhrick with cheap crew and Intimidation, decent Wedge, Kyle with kit, B-Wings of various configurations.

Finally, my least favorite, but probably one of the best in game, the Phoenix Squadron Pilot.  My disdain for these guys comes from a combination of lacking talent slots, hating how awful the pilots were in Rebels, and hating the chubby version of the A-Wing they flew thanks to Disney’s artistic liberties.  Yet even I have to admit, with the sudden inclusion of a talent slot, (didn’t see that coming) they became probably the best A-Wing around.
There are really only two variations I see as viable.
The Super Blocker: PSP, Intimidation - 33 points
You can fly SIX OF THESE at once!  They’re I1, meaning they get in position first, and clog up all the lanes.  Does Intimidation stack?  I don’t know, but hot **** if it does!  Even if you’re not running the swarm of Vader Fodder, you would be hard pressed to find and better way to spend 33 points in any faction.  Hands down, best blocker in the game.
The Crack Head: PSP, Crack Shot - 31 points
Perhaps not quite so cheap as a Black Squadron TIE, but better health, dial,  and a useful ship ability are easily worth the extra four points.  Run 5x with a 45 point wingman of some sort.  Cavern Angel w/ R2 Astromech to be an anchor?

Got any wild new A-Wing builds?  I would love to hear them.

I don't know any more than the next guy, but I was suspicious as soon as I opened my conversion kits and saw that some ships like the M3 came with a crazy amount of pilots, then others like the A-wing came with 4. Missing Aces like Tycho made me think the missing ones would return in the re-released ship packs, but getting them all/most in the conversion kit leads me to believe this is pretty much it, or it for a looonnng time.

Unless the ship appears in a Disney owned era movie, comic,tv show, etc. I would say it probably doesnt come back in a re-release, and its why they even offer extended format and sold the conversion kits so people dont go ape****.

That Tubes list seems workable for Hyperspace. It's not 4x Us, and I'd miss Cassian (Crew) and the I2 Pilots, but you still have Leia and it makes do with what's available. I want to say I don't like the Deadman's Switches, but I don't know much about the Hyperspace meta and I'd imagine there'd be enough TIE/ln and TIE Strikers that scaring them out of R1 with the Deadman's Switches is probably the best use of the 4 pts you have leftover.

Got 4x U-Wings on the table some more. My opponents were not flying top meta lists so still not sure how they would perform competitively, but their lists were competently made and I've won every game so far, so it isn't a horrible list casually at least. Some things I learned:
Even with the occasional drops to 1 agility inviting bigger damage, they're quite sturdy. Obviously so considering 8 health behind 2 greens for most of the round, but still.
Baze is straight up awful for his cost. I brought him on as a budget PerCo, but I rarely ever could make use of his ability and the one time I did, I usually only could get 1 extra Focus off of it, making it basically just a much worse PerCo that stresses you despite being only 2 pts cheaper. Even on a platform like Benthic, I could only maybe see him being usable if he were brought down by about 6 pts. Even without double Focus, I felt like I was still getting decent use out of Benthic's ability, so I've decided to put the points elsewhere.
I usually would end up with a "point man" U-Wing in the front, usually my naked U, and would very frequently end up causing bumps during the inevitable furball. With the points gained from dropping Baze, I've upgraded that naked U to Intimidate + Tactical Scrambler Heff Tober to maximize the pain of bumping for my opponent, and hopefully force fire off of my crew carriers. I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out. Would've liked getting Tactical Officer too for the white coordinate, but just 1 pt short... maybe since U-Wings are in Hyperspace, I'll get lucky and FFG will reduce point costs on parts of my list on the 28th.
Leia is definitely worth every pt. White stop along with closed Pivot Wings are amazing, especially with Cassian (Crew). I know that you guys don't seem to like him, but I find the dial information to be invaluable. Its biggest benefit was knowing with absolute certainty where to point all my guns during stops against the higher initiative ships I was going up against. I also have a problem with running Cassian (Pilot) because of I3, the list just runs like butter when you have total control over who activates first. Another reason I enjoyed dropping Bodhi. I'll consider it when Adaptability makes a comeback (the -1 Initiative part atleast, and hopefully still 0 cost).
I'm really enjoying 4x U-wings so far, fingers crossed that they can keep performing when I do face top meta lists.
