  1. Well, I assume this means that we're getting ever closer to a proper OP players database with cards and numbers and everything! I've long held the opinion that FFG OP program should have been structured like the DCI is for WotC.
  2. A revision (based on the idea of a reload action): Munitions Pod (3): Your action bar gets the [Reload] action. Reload action: Place one reload token on the active ship. During the End Phase, spend the token to flip a discarded [Torpedo] or [Missile] card face-up attached to the active ship. Unspent reload tokens are removed from all ships at the end of the End Phase.
  3. How about a modification? Ammunition Pod (1) Modification You may discard this card instead of discarding a secondary weapon as a result of an attack.
  4. Have you considered just doing it out of acrylic or plexiglass? Actually, I have a thought; what if you were to CNC tiles in negative on the underside of a transparent plexiglass or acrylic sheet, and then paint it? It should look like the Death Star surface, be as thin as you want, and still be entirely playable.
  5. Date: March 7th, 2015 @ 9am Cost: $10 Event Style: Single Swiss Pairing Event Prizes: Winter Event Kit and Gift Certificate for additional prize support More details here.
  6. Playtime Games is also really reasonable from an acquisition perspective; if you're in the National Capital Region, you can also do pickup: http://playtimegamesonline.com/
  7. Fort Gratiot has a tonne. Firesprays, Falcons, Lambdas, a B-Wing, TIE Fighter, Hawks, and TIE Advanceds.
  8. B&N on Mack near Grosse Pointe, MI has a ton of Lambdas, Firesprays, and YT-1300s left. It may also have a B-Wing remaining. Shelby Township has no red-dotted stuff. Will check Port Huron B&N today.
  9. Hey all, I've reached a quandary: I need a list for Imdaar Alpha that stands to be a contender for the tournament, and it needs to be just a little easier to fly in a six round tournament than my standard list. My previous list is: Turr Phennir + PTL (28) Saber Squadron Pilot + PTL (24) Saber Squadron Pilot + PTL (24) Saber Squadron Pilot + PTL (24) which is an awesome list (could be more awesome with 4x RGP + PTL, but I only have one box of Imperial Aces) that I love, but it requires no mistakes to succeed. Unfortunately, I'm human and after about game 4 or so in a 6 game tournament I start getting tired and make mistakes. I've been toying with a list\\ that I like, I'm just looking for some critique/criticism and to see if there's anything I haven't considered as a potential weakness in it. It's going to have some issues with turret/control lists, but what Imperial list doesn't have issues with those... Kath Scarlet + Rebel Captive + Expert Handling (43) RGP + PTL + Hull Upgrade (28) RGP + PTL + Hull Upgrade (28) The idea is to flank with all three ships, with Kath on the inside and the fragile RGPs on the outside edge. When the RGPs are in range, they're to turtle up with Focus+Evade, and hope they can clip their targets from R3. Once the primary threats are down (Falcons, Firesprays, turretted HWKs and Y-Wings), I'd then start putting on extreme pressure with the TIE/Is, with the intention of taking down a ship a turn. Right now, I see my biggest weakness being in number of targets presented to my opponent, and a lack of HPs (18 total) in the list. I'm going to hurt a bit too if a HSF Falcon gets a little too close. Whaddya think?
  10. My Imdaar Alpha list is from a similar thought process, but I want to be able to pack a punch: "Hammer and Anvil" - 100pts Echo + FCS + VI + Advanced Cloaking Device (37) Delta Squadron Pilot (30) Omicron Group Pilot + HLC + Gunner (33) The idea is mostly for Echo to flank in a highly maneuverable craft and staying cloaked except for when I want to shoot; when Echo does shoot, he packs a punch. The TIE/D and Shuttle are to stay together and mid-board; when the enemy comes in range, the TIE/D will do strafing runs of the enemy/keep them distracted so the shuttle can pound away at its targets. I'm considering swapping the shuttle for a naked Bounty Hunter; same amount of hull, better dial, and can do strafing runs with the TIE/D.
  11. The only Rebel ship nickname I know of is "pigs", which refers to Y-Wings.
  12. Also, for the cannons on the X-Wings to converge properly so you have any hope of shooting down what you're targeting, you have to reorient them to focus on a specific distance immediately in front of the X-Wing. Closing the S-Foils means there is no focus anymore, and your shots are going to very oddly wild.
  13. The reason for the doubleblind (can't see out of it) effect on Thrawn's Star Destroyer was due to the cloaking device being hibridium-based -- the TIE Phantom used stygian crystals as a part of its cloaking device, which didn't cause the doubleblind effect. Hibridium cloaking devices were used in Rebellion/New Republic-era because the TIE Phantom project consumed the galaxies last remaining stygian crystal supply... EDIT: Anyone know why the quote button didn't work for me?
  14. Hey folks! I'm a newcomer to the X-Wing scene, but I wish I knew about it sooner! Gives me the same rush playing X-Wing and TIE Fighter did back when I was a kid, and has made me oh so giddy about Star Wars again (haven't been this excited since seeing Episode 3). And yes, I like the prequels/cartoons. One thing about the new wave is the inclusion of the TIE Phantom. As much as I loved Rebel Assault 2, and as much as the concept is killer, the inclusion of it dispels the hope that some day we might see a legit Invid Clutch, as the design is, from a quick glance, going to be too similar (the only difference would be the cockpit/fuselage is from a TIE fighter, as opposed to that elongated cigar). I was holding out hope that we'd see the Clutch one day, as its movement dial would be quite unique (X-Wing dial with a red 0 and maybe red 1 turns), and the design is very aggressive. Also, what's this "Cinematic pack" everyone's talking about? If there's a pack of naught but ship and pilot cards coming down the pipeline (talked about at GenCon or something), I might not lose hope of seeing Eamon and Ace Azzameen.
